  • Nylon fabrics were corona treated with different current intensity (5, 10, 15, 20 A) and feeding speed (5, 10, 15 m/min). We confirmed the change of nylon fabrics surface using X-ray diffraction apparatus, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (ESCALAB). And the change of physical properties through measuring the tensile strength, tear strength, bonding and wet bonding strength. Thermosetting reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive was used in the adhesion of nylon fabrics. Functional groups were introduced on nylon fabric surface by treating the fabrics in air atmosphere with corona discharge, and the result adhesion was improved. Bonding strength of the nylon fabric treated with corona was increased with increasing current intensity and decreasing feeding speed.

  • In this paper we investigated the characteristics of surface degradation in silicone rubber due to corona exposure and recovery mechanism. It was shown that surface free energy was 22.42 mJ/$m^2$ on initial sample but surface free energy was approximately increased to 71.14 mJ/$m^2$ after 45 minutes. However, surface free energy on silicone rubber after corona discharge treatment was completely recovered within a short time due to diffusion of low molecular weight(LMW) silicone fluid. It was shown that corona discharge insured the increase of diffusible LMW chains, which could lead to recover the surface hydrophobicity. 200~370 g/mol distribution of LMW silicone fluid which was extracted by solvent-extraction with gel permeation chromatography (GPC) was contributed to recovery. The surface degradation characteristics on silicone rubbers and the recovery mechanism based on our results were discussed.

  • In this paper we investigated the changes of surface hydrophobic characteristics on silicone rubbers by corona discharge treatment and also investigated the distribution and the behavior of low molecular weight(LMW) silicone fluid which was extracted by solvent-extraction with gel permeation chromatography(GPC). It was shown that contact angle was $110.5^{\circ}$ on initial sample but contact angle was approximately decreased to $10^{\circ}$ after 45 minutes. However the surface hydrophobic characteristic on silicone rubbers which were removed from corona discharge was recovered within 5 hours. It was shown that corona discharge insured the increase of diffusible LMW chains, which could lead to recover the surface hydrophobicity. The surface hydrophobic characteristics on silicone rubbers and the recovery mechanism based on our results were discussed.

  • This research reviewed the joint and duration characteristics depending on the surface treatment condition and lap spliced length in the PET film jointing method using the high hardness liquid material. As a result, the corona discharge treatment was improved to the contact angle, joint tensile strength, and joint peel resistance compared to non-treatment. Particularly, a surface treatment E (Corona discharge + Primer + PU bond + Polyester fabric) turned out to the best, and especially when the lap spliced length is longer than 15mm, stable joint performance was secured under the long term deterioration treatment of 16 weeks. Thus, the joint is considered to be applicable as the water-proof material.

  • Textile wet-processing industry usually five rise to environmental pollution problems caused by using chemical substance. The objective of this study is to apply enzymes for wool and reduce the environmental problems. Three commercial protein degradation enzymes and a cellulose degradation enzyme as a reference were treated to prevent the shrinkage of wool fabric on laundering. Shrink resistant effects used change with the kinds of enzyme, the amount of enzyme, assistant chemicals, and the pre-treatment condition of wool fabric. When pre-treated with corona before enzyme treatment under ultrasonic condition, the weight loss was increased and strength was decreased and elongation was increased. Both corona pre-treatment and the addition of $Na_2SO_4$ also decreased shrinkage of wool fabrics on laundering. The existence of assistant chemicals increased alkali solubility of wool fabrics.

  • COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease-2019) is an infectious respiratory disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus-2). This new viral disease was unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. As of November 16th 2020, it affects about 54.3 million populations, death troll increased to 1.32 million cases in worldwide. Whereas in India 8.85 cases are infected with COVID-19, of which 1, 30, 112 cases were died. Till now there has been no specific anti-virus drug or vaccines are available for the treatment of this disease, the supportive care and non-specific treatment to the symptoms of the patient are the only options in Biomedicine, the entire world turns its attention towards alternative medicine or Traditional medicine. Siddha medicine is one of the primordial systems of medicine practiced in the southern part of India, it dealt a lot about pandemic, and its management. This review provides an insight into Pandemic in Siddha system and its management in both ancient history and modern history, National and state level Government policies related to current pandemic, World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on usage of unproven drug during infectious disease outbreak, Preparedness of Siddha system during a pandemic outbreak Challenges and Recommendations.
