  • The main stream of presentation is interrupted because of the direct manipulation of their PC frequently so as to control the screen and file open and so on. A variety of products have been developed to solve these inconveniences of the conventional laser beam pointer [LBP] by simply adding a mouse function to the previous LBP. However. the LBPs fully supporting a mouse function are not yet appeared. In this paper. we developed the LBP fully fulfilling a mouse function using mono-camera as well as a robust image processing and analyzed the position detection accuracy. Finally we verified the developed LBP does not only fulfill a mouse function but also solve the defects of the current laser pointer such as inconvenient installation and Position detection errors due to the illumination and viewing direction changes.

  • Deep sub-micron bulk CMOS circuits require gate electrode materials such as metal silicide and titanium silicide for gate oxides. Many authors have conducted research to improve the quality of the sub-micron gate oxide. However, few have reported on the electrical quality and reliability of an ultra-thin gate. In this paper, we will recommend a novel shallow trench isolation structure and a two-step TiS $i_2$ formation process to improve the corner metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) for sub-0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ VLSI devices. Differently from using normal LOCOS technology, deep sub-micron CMOS devices using the novel shallow trench isolation (STI) technology have unique "inverse narrow-channel effects" when the channel width of the device is scaled down. The titanium silicide process has problems because fluorine contamination caused by the gate sidewall etching inhibits the silicide reaction and accelerates agglomeration. To resolve these Problems, we developed a novel two-step deposited silicide process. The key point of this process is the deposition and subsequent removal of titanium before the titanium silicide process. It was found by using focused ion beam transmission electron microscopy that the STI structure improved the narrow channel effect and reduced the junction leakage current and threshold voltage at the edge of the channel. In terms of transistor characteristics, we also obtained a low gate voltage variation and a low trap density, saturation current, some more to be large transconductance at the channel for sub-0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ VLSI devices.

  • In this paper, airborne LiDAR data were evaluated in horizontal and vertical accuracy. By using zigzag scanning type of LiDAR, GCPs are not tested directly. So points around GCPs were used in this evaluation. Building corner points were made from LiDAR's building planar and compared with ground surveyed GCPs, in horizontal accuracy test. Its accuracy shows 19cm average and 21cm RMSE and 15 points were within 20cm among 16 points. In vertical accuracy test, 41 GCPs were used and it shows 11cm average and 14cm RMSE and 75% of GCPs were within 15cm. This could be a criterion in topographic map modification and basic geographic DB and 3D data construction using airborne LiDAR data.

  • The passive control by vertical splitter plate of fluid force acting on a square prism near a plane wall was studied by measuring of fluid force on the prism and by visualization of the flow field using PIV. The hight of the splitter plate was 10% of the square width. The experimental parameters were the attaching position of vertical splitter plate and the space ratios G/B to the prism height. Time variation of vorticity was most remarkable at 3.0B(B: prism height) position toward wake direction from the center of the prism. The point of inflection of average lift coefficient and Strouhal number on the prism were represented at the space ratio G/B=0.4~0.6 for the prism having vertical splitter plate. The drag of the prism was reduced average 5.0% with the space ratios by attaching the vertical splitter plate at the upper and rear corner on the prism. In this case, the size of the separated region on the upside of the prism was smaller than that of prism having no the splitter plate.

  • This study aims to introduce a new bracing system by which even super-wide frames with large openings can be braced. The proposed system, hereafter called Cable-Pulley Brace (CPB), is a tension-only bracing system with a rectilinear configuration. In CPB, a wire rope passes through a rectilinear path around the opening(s) and connects the lower corner of the frame to its opposite upper one. CPB is a secondary load resisting system with a nonlinear-elastic hysteretic behavior due to its initial pre-tension load. As a result, the required energy dissipation would be provided by the MRF itself, and the main intention of using CPB is to contribute to the initial and post-yield stiffness of the whole system. Using a stiffness calibration technique, optimum placement of the CPBs is discussed to yield a uniform displacement demand along the height of the structure. A displacement-based design procedure is proposed by which the MRF with CPB can be designed to achieve a uniform distribution of inter-story drifts with predefined values. Obtained results indicated that CPB leads to significant reductions in maximum and residual deformations of the MRF at the expense of minor increase in the maximum base shear and developed axial force demands in the columns. In the case of a typical 5-story residential building, compared to SMRF system, CPB system reduces maximum amounts of inter-story and residual drifts by 35% and 70%, respectively. Moreover, openings of the frame are not interrupted by the CPB. This is the most appealing feature of the proposed bracing system from architectural point of view.

  • In this paper, we suggest a system of detecting a vehicle with lane violation, which can detect the vehicle with lane violation, by using the feature point tracking. The whole algorithm in the suggested system of detecting a vehicle with lane violation is composed of three stages such as feature extraction, register and tracking in feature for the tracking-targeted vehicle, and detecting a vehicle with lane violation. In the stage of feature extraction, the feature is extracted from the inputted image by sing the feature-extraction algorithm available for the real-time processing. The extracted features are again selected the racking-targeted feature. The registered feature is tracked by using NCC(normalized cross correlation). Finally, whether or not lane violation is finally detected by using information on the tracked features. As a result of experimenting the suggested system by using the acquired image in the section with a ban on intervention, the excellent performance was shown with 99.09% for positive recognition ratio and 0.9% for error ratio. The fast processing speed could be obtained in 34.48 frames per second available for real-time processing.

  • Recently, Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) circuit & deep-submicron bulk Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor(CMOS) devices require gate electrode materials such as metal-silicide, Titanium-silicide for gate oxides. Many previous authors have researched the improvement sub-micron gate oxide quality. However, few have reported on the electrical quality and reliability on the ultra thin gate oxide. In this paper, at first, I recommand a novel shallow trench isolation structure to suppress the corner metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor(MOSFET) inherent to shallow trench isolation for sub 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ gate oxide. Different from using normal LOCOS technology deep-submicron CMOS devices using novel Shallow Trench Isolation(STI) technology have a unique"inverse narrow-channel effects"-when the channel width of the devices is scaled down, their threshold voltage is shrunk instead of increased as for the contribution of the channel edge current to the total channel current as the channel width is reduced. Secondly, Titanium silicide process clarified that fluorine contamination caused by the gate sidewall etching inhibits the silicidation reaction and accelerates agglomeration. To overcome these problems, a novel Two-step Deposited silicide(TDS) process has been developed. The key point of this process is the deposition and subsequent removal of titanium before silicidation. Based on the research, It is found that novel STI structure by the SEM, in addition to thermally stable silicide process was achieved. We also obtained the decrease threshold voltage value of the channel edge. resulting in the better improvement of the narrow channel effect. low sheet resistance and stress, and high threshold voltage. Besides, sheet resistance and stress value, rms(root mean square) by AFM were observed. On the electrical characteristics, low leakage current and trap density at the Si/SiO$_2$were confirmed by the high threshold voltage sub 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ gate oxide.

  • In this paper, we propose the 3D shape reconstruction method that combine the mosaic method and the active stereo matching using the laser beam. The active stereo matching method detects the position information of the irradiated laser beam on object by analyzing the color and brightness variation of left and right image, and acquires the depth information in epipolar line. The mosaic method extracts feature point of image by using harris comer detection and matches the same keypoint between the sequence of images using the keypoint descriptor index method and infers correlation between the sequence of images. The depth information of the sequence image was calculated by the active stereo matching and the mosaic method. The merged depth information was reconstructed to the 3D shape information by wrapping and blending with image color and texture. The proposed reconstruction method could acquire strong the 3D distance information, and overcome constraint of place and distance etc, by using laser slit beam and stereo camera.

  • In this paper, a new measuring system is :proposed which can measure the fine 6-DOF displacement of rigid bodies. Its measurement principle is based on detection of laser beam reflected from a specially fabricated mirror that looks like a triangular pyramid having an equilateral cross-sectional shape. The mirror has three lateral reflective surfaces inclined 45$^{\circ}$ to its bottom surface. We call this mirror 3-facet mirror. The 3-facet mirror is mounted on the object whose 6-DOF displacement is to be measured. The measurement is operated by a laser-based optical system composed of a 3-facet mirror, a laser source, three position-sensitive detectors(PSD). In the sensor system, three PSDs are located at three corner points of a triangular formation, which is an equilateral triangular formation tying parallel to the reference plane. The sensitive areas of three PSDs are oriented toward the center point of the triangular formation. The object whose 6-DOF displacement is to be measured is situated at the center with the 3-facet mirror on its top surface. A laser beam is emitted from the laser source located at the upright position and vertically incident on the top of the 3-fatcet mirror. Since each reflective facet faces toward each PSD, the laser beam is reflected at the 3-facet mirror and splits into three sub-beams, each of which is reflected from the three facets and finally arrives at three PSDs, respectively. Since each PSD is a 2-dimensional sensor, we can acquire the information on the 6-DOF displacement of the 3-facet mirror. From this principle, we can get 6-DOF displacement of any object simply by mounting the 3-facet mirror on the object. In this paper, we model the relationship between the 6-DOF displacement of the object and the outputs of three PSDs. And, a series of simulations are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The simulation results show that the proposed sensing system can be an effective means of obtaining 3-dimensional position and orientation of arbitrary objects.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the double stylobate of the three-story stone pagoda in Yeongnam region and to divide the types of arrangements of the body-stone and roof-stone and find their correlation. Research objects are 47 three-story stone pagodas in Yeongnam region which have accurate documents and plans. After dividing a double stylobate of three-story stone pagodas into a lower and upper stylobate, we classified each stylobate into a type of body-stone and roof-stone from an architectural point of view. Types of arrangement of body-stones are divided into methods of using the 'ㅡ' shaped stone and methods of using 'ㄱ' shaped stone in the corner. And types of arrangement of roof-stones are divided into methods of arranging stones in a row or in a grid pattern. As the size of the pagoda increases, 'ㄱ' shaped stones used for the body-stone and stones for the roof-stone are arranged in a grid pattern. As the size of the pagoda becomes smaller, the body-stone is consist of 'ㅡ' shaped stone, and the roof-stone is arranged in a row. As the construction year of the pagoda becomes later, the size of the pagoda becomes smaller and types of body-stone and roof-stone had been stereotyped. As a result, the size of the stone pagoda became smaller as constructed later, and the type of body-stone and roof-stone of the double stylobate appear differently according to the size of the pagoda.
