Study of Piconet Auto-Configuration for WPAN (WPAN 피코넷 자동 구성에 대한 연구)

  • If the PNC is shutting down or wants to leave the WPAN, it uses the handover process to give control to another device in the piconet. However when the PNC is selected, only the device capability information is checked in the WPAN standard specification and no detail criteria is described. In this paper, the PNC selection method with considering the number and density of device to maximize the piconet data throughput in the WPAN is studied. From the numerical analysis results, the considering with the devices concentration has higher data throughput compared with the uniform distribution. For the efficient performance, the device distribution within the piconet should be considered in the PNC selection.

Ycs4 is Required for Efficient Double-Strand Break Formation and Homologous Recombination During Meiosis

  • Condensin is not only responsible for chromosome condensation, but is also involved in double-strand break (DSB) processing in the cell cycle. During meiosis, the condensin complex serves as a component of the meiotic chromosome axis, and mediates both proper assembly of the synaptonemal complex and DSB repair, in order to ensure proper homologous chromosome segregation. Here, we used the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae to show that condensin participates in a variety of chromosome organization processes and exhibits crucial molecular functions that contribute to meiotic recombination during meiotic prophase I. We demonstrate that Ycs4 is required for efficient DSB formation and establishing homolog bias at the early stage of meiotic prophase I, which allows efficient formation of interhomolog recombination products. In the Ycs4 meiosis-specific allele (ycs4S), interhomolog products were formed at substantial levels, but with the same reduction in crossovers and noncrossovers. We further show that, in prophase chromosomal events, ycs4S relieved the defects in the progression of recombination interactions induced as a result of the absence of Rec8. These results suggest that condensin is a crucial coordinator of the recombination process and chromosome organization during meiosis.

A Lightweight Authentication Mechanism for Acknowledgment Frame in IEEE 802.15.4 (IEEE 802.15.4에서 확인 프레임을 위한 경량 인증 메커니즘)

  • In IEEE 802.15.4 (Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network) specification, a successful reception and validation of a data or MAC command frame can be confirmed with an acknowledgment. However, the specification does not support security for acknowledgment frame; the lack of a MAC covering acknowledgments allows an adversary to forge an acknowledgment for any frame. This paper proposes an identity authentication mechanism at the link layer for acknowledgment frame in IEEE 802.15.4 network. With the proposed mechanism there is only three bits for authentication, which can greatly reduce overhead of device. The encrypted bit stream for identity authentication will be transmitted to device by coordinator within association process. Statistical method and simulation results prove that our mechanism is successful in handling MAC layer attack.

  • 인터넷상의 생물학 자원들을 이용하는 에이전트 시스템들에는 몇 가지 특징들이 있는데, 그중 하나가 바로 사용자 에이전트와 공개 데이터베이스들을 대신하는 에이전트들간의 자원 이용과정에서 발생하는 정보를 효율적으로 중계하고 조정하는 역할을 하는 기능이 존재해야 한다는 것이다. 공개 데이터베이스 자원들을 이용하는 경우 서로 다른 데이터 양식과 용어 체계, 제공하는 정보의 양과 정보를 제공하는데 걸리는 시간 등의 차이점이 존재하며, 또한 하나의 UI 에이전트로부터 복수 개의 질의를 수행하는 경우나 복수 개의 UI 에이전트들로부터 복수 개의 질의가 이루어지는 경우, 다양한 형태와 제공 정보로 인해 발생하는 자원들의 특성이 존재하게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 자원들의 다양성에 대한 고려, 메시지 트랜잭션의 관리와 더불어 다양한 플랫폼들에서 운용이 가능한 메시지 형식을 띠고 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 현재 개발중인 단백질 구조예측 연구를 지원하는 APSS 시스템 내에서의 사용자 에이전트와 여러 분석 및 자원 에이전트들 간의 효율적인 메시지 중재 및 조정기능을 갖는 CODY 에이전트를 설계하였고 이에 관하여 기술하고자 한다.

Task Performance and Analysis of Organ Transplantation Coordinators in Korea (장기이식 코디네이터의 직무분석)

  • Purpose: Along the process of organ transplantation, coordinators perform complex professional roles, playing as a key person among recipients, donors, family members and medical staffs. The purpose was to analyze the tasks of organ transplantation coordinators using DACUM method and to establish the basis for standardizing them in accordance with relevant laws and systems. Methods: Participants were consisted of 78 transplantation coordinators working at the medical centers in Korea. The questionnaire was administered to analyze the criticality, difficulty and frequency of task elements. Results: The job of organ transplantation was classified into five duties, 13 tasks, and 84 task elements. The five duties were recipient management, donor management, organ donation activation management, organ transplantation administration, and professional capability development. On the four-point scale: donor management was the duty with the highest criticality (3.68), organ donation activation management was the duty of highest difficulty (2.96), and recipient management was the duty of the highest frequency (3.32). Conclusion: This study will be useful for developing an educational program and as a reference of nurse practitioner qualifying examination. It is necessary to develop a comprehensive educational program for transplantation coordinators in order to support them to take their complex roles successfully.

  • 상황 인지 컴퓨팅에서 상황정보 추론 기능은 상황정보 관리를 위해 중요한 기능 중의 하나이다. 상황정보 추론 기능은 하위 레벨의 상황정보들로부터 사용자의 상황을 나타내는 상위 레벨의 상황정보를 제공한다. 인프라 기반 지능형 공간에서 중앙 집중 형의 상황정보 관리 시스템은 상황정보 추론을 위한 자원 소모를 고려할 필요가 없었다. 하지만 자원이 제약된 장치들로만 구성된 개인 지능형 공간에서는 공간 내 전체의 자원 소모뿐만 아니라 상황정보 관리자 역할을 하는 장치 (coordinator)들의 자원 소모가 최소화 되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 중앙 집중적인 상황정보 추론 작업을 분배하여 개인 지능형 공간 내의 다른 장치들에게 작업을 분산시키는 상황정보 추론 작업 분배 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 분배 기법은 건강정보, 환경정보, 지리정보 같이 상황정보가 자주 발생하는 환경에서 더 효율적이다. 상황정보 추론작업을 분배 함으로써 상황정보 추론을 위한 개인 지능형 공간의 전체의 처리량을 크게 증가시키지 않으면서 코디네이터의 처리량을 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문의 작업분배 기법은 상황정보 추론의 역할을 하는 코디네이터와 분산된 로컬 상황정보 추론기능을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 상황정보 추론 기능을 개인 지능형 공간을 구성하는 장치들에 각각 구현하고 상황정보 추론을 위한 처리부하를 측정하여 제안된 기법의 실행 가능성을 보였다.

The Relationship between Health Education Competency and Satisfaction of Professional Nursing in Nursing Students (간호학생의 보건교육 수행정도와 간호전문직 만족도와의 관계연구)

  • A study was conducted to identify the perceptions about health education competence and satisfaction of nursing profession, and the relationship between health education competency and satisfaction of nursing profession in nursing students. The subjects were 118 nursing students who were third year at a diploma course. The results of this study are as follows : 1) In domain of health education process, the highest level of competency was the need assessment of the individual health education(mean : 3.62) and the lowest level of competency was the evaluation of heath education program(mean : 2.93. 2) In domain of health education method, the level of competency was estimated ordered as counselling and interview (mean : 3.53), health campaign(mean : 3.42), demonstration(mean : 3.30), role play (mean : 3.28), group discussion (mean : 3.25), lecture(mean : 3.10). 3) In domain of health education place, the level of competency was estimated ordered as of patient education while giving individually care(mean : 3.68), at home(mean : 3.67), in the classrom(mean : 3.67), in the community(mean : 3.35), while teaching with group patients at hosital(mean : 3.30). 4) In domain of activities of health educator, the level of competency was ordered as collaborator(mean : 3.59), coordinator(mean : 3.31), material developer(mean 3.14), program evaluator(mean : 3.13), program designer(mean 3.10). 5) Health education competency was found to be significantly related to satisfaction of professional nursing.

  • Locals' initiating the community making projects is considered as a good approach in terms of the effectiveness, sustainability and government's budget. But there are not the local institutions' support, while local people alone may face difficulties in starting and managing the projects. This study is to explore the roles of the institutions for starting and managing the family-friendly communities. For this purpose, 18 secondary source cases from the livable community making projects were analyzed. And the major findings of this study were as follows: The (local) institutions need to gain credibility from the locals before starting the family-friendly community project. In the motivation steps, the institution performs the role of a proposer, a survey researcher, an opinion gatherer and mediator. In the systematization steps, the institution needs to perform as a mentor, a developer of human and non-human resources, a conflict mediator, an education practitioner, an instructor, a networker, and an administrative staff. In the execution steps, the institution needs to perform as a cultural program planner, a public relations personnel, and an assessor. In conclusion, the institution needs to train community coordinator and develop programs to educate local residents for the effective family-friendly community projects.

A Benchmarking Tool to Assess the Role of the Construction Manager in terms of Project Teamwork Supports

  • Construction management services have been adopted for more than a decade and are continuously growing; however, the advantages of utilizing a construction management service are still not quite clear, regardless of many arguments can be made in their favor. The construction manager, as a coordinator, is supposed to smoothly facilitate the project teamwork in order to deliver a profitable and satisfactory project, not only for the owner's interests but also for the success of all project participants. This study has focused on the teamwork supports a construction manager can provide during project operations. This study developed a benchmarking tool to assess the construction manager's role in terms of its project teamwork supports, by utilizing the evaluation model and several case studies. In addition, this study also attempted to set the industry average and higher performance so that both the owner and the construction manager can self-assess, and more importantly, can improve project operation. The actual implementation of the benchmarking tool into on-going projects can allow the construction manager to understand the current operation and to make a better project process through teamwork.

  • The GTS(Guaranteed Time Slot) of IEEE802.15.4 standard, which is the contention free access mechanism, has some problems such as the limited number of deployed devices, the low channel utilization and the service confirm delay. The proposed Cyclic-CFA(Contention Free Access) scheme is a modified polling algorithm that allows a large number of devices to be served Contention Free Access without polling packets. The Cyclic-CFA scheme improves the channel utilization dramatically and also reduces service delay time.
