  • The design criteria of Linear Induction Motors (LIM) for Auto-Conveyor System are proposed by analyzing of starting characteristics using an equivalent circuit. By contrasting the solution of the equivalent circuit with that of Maxwell's equation, we induced the parameters of the circuit. Also, the utility of the design criteria has been shown by comparing the basic characteristics with experimental values.

  • 디스플레이 장치에서 기존의 CRT는 곡면이며 무겁고 큰 부피 때문에 LCD, PDP와 같은 평판디스플레이(FPD)로 대체되고 있다. FPD는 $0.6{\sim}0.8mm$ 두께의 대면적 글래스에 여러 공정을 거친 후에 최종 제품 규격으로 절단하여 제작하기 때문에 글래스의 면적이 크면 클수록 FPD의 생산성이 높다는 밀접한 관계를 갖는다. 따라서 FPD 제조 업계에서는 글래스 면적을 증가시키기 위하여 노력하고 있다. 7세대 글라스($2,220mm\;{\times}\;1,870mm\;{\times}\;0.7mm$)를 대상으로 유한요소해석 및 유동해석을 통하여 이송장치, 배급장치, 수평/경사 변환장치 및 제어장치로 구성된 비접촉 공기부상 이송시스템을 개발하였다. 본 개발에서 확보한 설계기술을 통하여 글라스의 크기가 대형화 되더라도 관련 이송장비를 보다 쉽게 제작하여 적용할 수 있다.

Development of a Water-Spraying Type Automatic Glochids Removal System for Cactus (Opuntia humifusa) Stem

  • Purpose: A water-spraying type automatic glochids removal system for cactus (Opuntia humifusa) stem was developed, and its performance was evaluated. The system was developed to reduce intensive human labor in removing glochids from cactus stem skin without inducing damage prior to further processing into value-added products. Methods: The developed system consists of conveyor and water-spraying systems. The conveyor system delivers cactus stems through water-spraying compartments and finally to a collecting box. In order to remove the glochids, rotating nozzles spray water over all areas (i.e., front and back faces and sides) of the cactus skin under controlled water pressure. Operating conditions such as conveyor speed, water pressure, angle of water-spraying nozzles, distance between conveyor belt and rotating nozzles, and angle of cactus flipping slide were adopted from our previous study and applied on the system design and manufacturing. The performance of glochids removal was evaluated by counting the number of glochids on the cactus stem before and after processing on the system. Results: The developed system performed efficiently and effectively under the pre-studied operating conditions except for the angle of cactus flipping slide. The new system had a glochids removal ratio of 94.1% without damaging the cactus skin. Considering the original number (approximately 30-60) of glochids, the remaining number was low (1-4), and most of them were found at the side edge of the cactus stem. This system can remove glochids from 360 cactus stems in 1 hr regardless of cactus size. Conclusions: The performance of the new system in glochids removal without damaging cactus skin is superior to any other existing device (i.e., brush type, rubber-friction type, and agitation type). The system is expected to be applied in cactus (O. humifusa) processing facilities.

레이저 구조광을 이용한 3차원 컴퓨터 시각 형상정보 연속 측정 시스템 개발 (Development of the Computer Vision based Continuous 3-D Feature Extraction System via Laser Structured Lighting)

  • A system to extract continuously the real 3-D geometric fearture information from 2-D image of an object, which is fed randomly via conveyor has been developed. Two sets of structured laser lightings were utilized. And the laser structured light projection image was acquired using the camera from the signal of the photo-sensor mounted on the conveyor. Camera coordinate calibration matrix was obtained, which transforms 2-D image coordinate information into 3-D world space coordinate using known 6 points. The maximum error after calibration showed 1.5 mm within the height range of 103mm. The correlation equation between the shift amount of the laser light and the height was generated. Height information estimated after correlation showed the maximum error of 0.4mm within the height range of 103mm. An interactive 3-D geometric feature extracting software was developed using Microsoft Visual C++ 4.0 under Windows system environment. Extracted 3-D geometric feature information was reconstructed into 3-D surface using MATLAB.

장거리 벨트 컨베이어의 기동 및 정지시의 동적거동 해석 (Dynamic Analyis of Long Distance Belt Conveyor During Starting and Stopping)

  • According to the considerable increase of the length of belt conveyors, the dynamic analysis of systme becomes necessary to consider the variation of tensions and transient motion of components during starting and stopping of conveyor. The mathematical model of system is derived using the lumped parameter method. The input driving force is represented with two functions of time and pulley speed to count the characteristics of motor and fluid coupling. An example system was studied with 14 km in the distance of carrying. At head, it has two drivers and one gravity take-up and at tail ond driver and one power winch take-up. In the example, the transient tensions and responses, calculated using two cases of driving force, are mutually compared in starting mode. Also, the position of maximum tension and the braking force of take-up are obtained in stopping mode.

실체 뷰의 자기관리에서 완전일관성을 위한 컨베이어 알고리듬 (A Conveyor Algorithm for Complete Consistency of Materialized View in a Self-Maintenance)

  • The On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools access data from the data warehouse for complex data analysis, such as multidimensional data analysis, and decision support activities. Current research has lead to new developments in all aspects of data warehousing, however, there are still a number of problems that need to be solved for making data warehousing effective. View maintenance, one of them, is to maintain view in response to updates in source data. Keeping the view consistent with updates to the base relations, however, can be expensive, since it may involve querying external sources where the base relations reside. In order to reduce maintenance costs, it is possible to maintain the views using information that is strictly local to the data warehouse. This process is usually referred to as "self-maintenance of views". A number of algorithm have been proposed for self maintenance of views where they keep some additional information in data warehouse in the form of auxiliary views. But those algorithms did not consider a consistency of materialized views using view self-maintenance. The purpose of this paper is to research consistency problem when self-maintenance of views is implemented. The proposed "conveyor algorithm" will resolved a complete consistency of materialized view using self-maintenance with considering network delay. The rationale for conveyor algorithm and performance characteristics are described in detail.
