In this paper, we present a five-DOF actuator based on dielectric elastomer. The actuator is designed for generating five DOFs motions to drive a micro camera steering module and provides all the functions for controlling CCD array such as focusing, pan and tilting. Basic modeling of the actuator is performed, and simulation works and experimental verifications are conducted, too. The camera steering module includes most parts necessary for driving the actuator such as a micro-controller and DC-DC converter, etc. It can be operated with a personal computer using only communication lines without external power supply. A prototype is developed and its performance is experimentally proved. $\textbullet$ artificial muscle, EAP, actuator.
In this paper, the equations of motion about vehicle, powertrain and brake system were derived. The vehicle has eight degrees of freedom with nonlinear tire model and the powertrain has two degrees of freedom containing engine, torque converter and four speed automatic transmission. The brake system has two states about front and rear brake line pressures. The transient tire model with first order time lag is also subjoined for low speed or stop-and-go simulation. The modeling was derived considering two points - the fidelity and the simplicity. The simulation using this model is similar with real vehicle dynamic behavior and the model is made as simple as possible far fast simulation. It is validated that the derived vehicle model can be applicable to the real time simulation.
This paper describes a new interactive inverter between a photovoltaic(PV) array and single-phase utility that avoid the bulky input (60Hz) transformer on the AC side. The interface employs a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm current-forced single-phase rectifier for injecting the power from the PV array into the mains. The current waveform at the AC side remains sinusoidal and exactly in phase at all time. The circuit also has the advantage of requiring fewer switching device than high-frequency link system. This paper describes modeling of PV array and new system topology. Simulation results on the performance of the connection are also presented.
The paper presents the componet parts and their models for the switched reluctance motor drive system with the angle position-current chopping control and with the fixed angle pulse width modulation control. The calculation of the parameters and the simulated models based on the MATHLAB SIMULINK software package are introduced by a four-phase 8/6 structure prototype with the four-phase asymmetric bridge ower converter. The simulation of the prototype in the course of starting is made by the simulated models at the different control strategies and speeds.
For an analysis and simulation of the conducted EMI of switching converters, an accurate simulation model for MOSFET is needed. This paper presents a new modeling approach, which incorporates DC output characteristics and AC dynamics especially the parasitic capacitances. It uses Pspice ABM(Analog Behavioral Model) and the MOSFET parameters can be obtained from the Data sheet in the frequency range of interest for EMI analysis. The model verified with an experimental setup and the EMI for a test converter is analyzed with respect to the MOSFET switching waveforms.
A powered system with fuel cell is regarded as a high current and low voltage source. Effects of the loads on the electrical power source are important to optimize the integrated power system. The design parameters of the system should be chosen by taking into account the characteristics of the fuel cell, so the costs of the power system at given operating conditions can be reduced. Furthermore, the dynamics characteristic of the system is crucial to acquire performance in applications, particularly interactions between loads and the fuel cell system. Currently, no integrated simulation has been approached to analyze interrelated effects. Therefore, the dynamic models of power conversion system with a PEM fuel cell that includes the PEM fuel cell stack, DC/DC converter and associated controls is developed. Electric lads for the system are derived by using a power theory that separates a load current into active, reactive, distortion or a mixed current component. Dependency of the DC capacitor on the loads are analyzed.

This paper shows the analysis of the inductive power transfer system in conjunction with series resonant converter operating variable high frequency. Of particular interest is the sensitivity of the complete system to variations in operational frequency and parameters. In inductive power transfer system, electrical power is transferred from a primary winding in the form of a coil or track, to one or more isolated pick-up coils that may relative to the primary. The ability to transmit power without contact enables high reliability and easy maintenance that allows inductive power transfer system to be implemented in hostile environments. This technology has found application in many fields such as electric vehicles, PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) etc. The coupling between the primary and secondary is then presented to include the effects of parameter and operational frequency variation.
