This paper presents a systematic approach to the modeling of power electronic circuits with systemlongrightarrowlevel simulation l languages. It is shown that a circuit model reduces to one of four basic types according to input/output conditions. The e elementary models for single series components and shunt components are derived which are integrated to develop a m model of given converter circuit. The constraints imposed on the model development-matching input/output conditions a and avoiding algebraic loop-are discussed in relation to the realization example of a buck converter circuit model. It is s shown that the constraints can always be fullfilled by introducing fictitious interface blocks, which is generalized to the c concept of model transformation.

This paper proposes a new DFIG(Doubly-Fed Induction Generator) system using matrix converter, which is very effectively used for interconnecting the wind power system to the power grid. The operation of proposed system was verified by computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation was conformed by experimental works with a laboratory scaled-model of wind power system. The laboratory scaled-model was built using a motor-generator set with vector drive system, and a matrix converter with DSP(Digital Signal Processor). The operation of scaled-model was tested by modeling the specific variable-speed wind turbine using the real wind data in order to make the scaled-model simulate the real wind power system as close as possible. The simulation and experimental results confirm that matrix converter can be applied for the DFIG system.

In this paper, we propose a digital controller design methodology for an LLC resonant converter which has been widely used due to the advantages of low switching loss and high efficiency. We establish a mathematical model of an LLC resonant converter using the extended describing function concept and propose a controller design method based on the Ziegler Nichols control parameter tuning criteria. The voltage controller of an LLC resonant converter is designed based on the derived small signal model and the performance of the controller is verified by MATLAB simulations. The validity and the control performance of the designed voltage controller for the LLC resonant converter is analyzed through some simulations for the case of load variations and circuit modeling errors.

This paper presents a maximum power point tracking(MPPT) of photovoltaic system with duty ratio of DC-DC converter considered load. A variation of solar irradiation is most important factor in the MPPT of PV system That is nonlinear, aperiodic and complicated. NN was widely used due to easily solving a complex math problem. The paper consists of solar radiation source, DC-DC converter, DC motor and load(cf, pump). NN algorithm apply to DC-DC converter through an adaptive control of neural network, calculates converter-duty ratio using an adaptive control of NN. The results of an adaptive control of NN compared with the results of converter-duty ratio which are calculated mathematical modeling and evaluate the proposed algorithm. The experimental data show that an adequacy of the algorithm was established through the compared data.

A new phase shift full bridge (PSFB) converter with serially connected two transformers for telecommunication equipments of several hundred watts is proposed. The main features of the proposed converter are a wide input voltage range, an easiness to meet the requirement for zero voltage switching (ZVS) condition at a light load, and a small output voltage ripple. Furthermore, the serially connected two transformers can replace both a main transformer and an output inductor since the two transformers act as not only a main transformer but an output inductor by turns. Therefore, there is no need to use an output inductor, then the proposed converter features high power density. A mode analysis, design equations through a large signal modeling, and experimental results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed converter.

A single-phase tapped-inductor boost converter has been proposed previously. However, detailed characterization and performance analysis were not conducted. This paper presents a detailed characterization, performance analysis, and design expressions of a single-phase tapped-coupled-inductor boost converter. Expressions are derived for average and RMS input current as well as for RMS input and output capacitor current ripple. A systematic approach for sizing the tapped-coupled inductor, active switch, and output diode is presented; such approach has not been reported in related literature. This study reveals that sizing of the inductor has to be based on current ripple requirement, turns ratio, and load. Conditions that produce discontinuous inductor current are also discussed. Analysis of a non-ideal converter operating in continuous conduction mode is also conducted. The expression for the voltage ratio considering the coupling coefficient is derived. The suitability of the converter for high-voltage step-up applications is evaluated. Factors that affect the voltage boost ratio are also identified. The effects of duty ratio and load variation on the performance of the converter are also investigated. The theoretically derived characteristics are validated through simulations. Experimental results obtained at a low power level are included to validate the analytical and simulation results. A good agreement is observed among the analytical, simulation, and experimental results.
In this paper, a new converter for utility interactive photovoltaic system is proposed, the conventional utility interactive photovoltaic system is composed of a PWM inverter and a DC converter. However, the increased switching loss and the high frequency switching noise become a problem. the control accuracy of the system is made to lower by the dead time of the switching devices. and it becomes a cause of the lower conversion efficiency. In order to resolve those problems, we applied a non- dissipative snubber circuit to a converter, which generates the single phase absolute value of sinusoidal current. the converter consists of two switching devices and one capacitor which constitute a non-dissipative snubber circuit. the proposed circuit is very useful to minimize and increase efficiency, when it is used to an utility interactive photovoltaic system. it is confirmed by simulation that the proposed converter for new photovoltaic system has stable operation and good output.
The high-switching-frequency operation of power converters can achieve high power density through size reduction of passive components, such as capacitors, inductors, and transformers. However, a small-output capacitor that has small capacitance and low effective series resistance changes the small-signal model of the converter power stage. Such a capacitor can make the converter unstable by increasing the crossover frequency in the transfer function of the small-signal model. In this paper, the design and implementation of a high-frequency LLC resonant converter are presented to verify the power density enhancement achieved by decreasing the size of passive components. The effect of small output capacitance is analyzed for stability by using a proper small-signal model of the LLC resonant converter. Finally, proper design methods of a feedback compensator are proposed to obtain a sufficient phase margin in the Bode plot of the loop gain of the converter for stable operation at 500 kHz switching frequency. A theoretical approach using MATLAB, a simulation approach using PSIM, and experimental results are presented to show the validity of the proposed analysis and design methods with 100 and 500 kHz prototype converters.
Photovoltaic conditioning systems normally use a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique to deliver the highest possible power to the load continuously when variations occur in the insolation and temperature. A unique method of tracking the maximum power points (MPPs) and forcing the boost converter system to operate close to these points is presented through deriving small-signal model and transfer function of boost converter considering input capacitor. This paper aims at modeling boost converter including fairly large equivalent series resistance(ESR) of input reservoir capacitor by state-space-averaging method and PWM switch model. In the future, properly designed controller for compensation will be constructed in 3kw real system for maximum photovoltaic power tracking control.
Power converter design requires simulation accuracy. In addition to the requirement of accurate models of power semiconductor devices, this paper highlights the role of considering a very good description of the converter circuit layout for an accurate simulation of its electrical behavior. This paper considers a simple experimental circuit including one switching cell where a MOSFET transistor controls the diode under test. The turn-off transients of the diode are captured, over which the circuit wiring has a major influence. This paper investigates the necessity for accurate modeling of the experimental test circuit wiring and the MOSFET transistor. It shows that a simple wiring inductance as the circuit wiring representation is insufficient. An adequate model and identification of the model parameters are then discussed. Results are validated through experimental and simulation results.
