The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Determinant factors in this transformation process are deregulations and technological advancements. From the value chain perspective, industry convergence plays the most crucial role in the transformation of the established telecommunications and media industries. The objective of this paper is to validate the impact of convergence on the business performance using empirical data. To identify the various effects driven by industry convergence, we analyzed the relationships between firm's degree of convergence and the business performance using regression analysis. From the empirical result with the 2002-2005 data, it was found that the convergence across ICT sectors improves the business performance measured by Tobin's q significantly and this is only a recent phenomenon. These results are consistent with the conjecture that higher degree of convergence is becoming more associated with higher market value.

People have studied English using online English dictionaries when they looked for the meaning of English words or the example sentences. These days, as the AI technologies such as machine learning have been developing, documents can be translated in real time with Kakao, Papago, Google translators and so on. But, there has still been some problems with the accuracy of translation. The AI secretaries can be used for real-time interpreting, so this kind of systems are being used to translate such the web pages, papers into Korean. In this paper, we researched on the usage frequency of the combined English phrases from dictionaries by analyzing the number of the searched results on Google. With the result of this paper, we expect to help the people to use more English fluently.

This paper analyzes global convergence of the univariate dynamic encoding algorithm for searches (uDEAS) and provides an application result to function optimization. uDEAS is a more advanced optimization method than its predecessor in terms of the number of neighborhood points. This improvement should be validated through mathematical analysis for further research and application. Since uDEAS can be categorized into the generating set search method also established recently, the global convergence property of uDEAS is proved in the context of the direct search method. To show the strong performance of uDEAS, the global minima of four 30 dimensional benchmark functions are attempted to be located by uDEAS and the other direct search methods. The proof of global convergence and the successful optimization result guarantee that uDEAS is a reliable and effective global optimization method.

These days a great mix of traditional and digital contents such as movie, broadcasting, advertisement, e-books, music, game, animation, cartoon, character, knowledge information, and art performance are widely available. Many more are yet to come, with improved quality and added features. It is expected that all these contents will be evolved into a new breed of convergence content through the process of consolidation, expansion, integration, and recreation. Across the digital ecosystem, a new formula is being added to the industrial structure : 'Information/Content-Platform/Device-Goods/Service.' In the near future, as a result of technological innovation and convergence, the business sector will lose its boundaries as well, as businesses will be forced to look beyond the product itself and focus more on multi-functionality. Especially, in the era of creative economy, more policies need to be crafted in order to procure a new growth engine for the future with the agenda for convergence between humanities and technology. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the concept, factors, elements, types, and cases of convergence, which are the essence of content convergence. This analysis, with its focus on the convergence process, will help identify the effects and limits of content convergence as well as the prospects for convergence contents in the smart ecosystem under the creative economic system.

As the convergence among technologies is reorganizing industry sectors, it is quite important to evaluate the probability of technological convergence, and to analyze how the technologies in a certain industry sector affect the same or other industry sectors. As a result, the large number of studies have been focused on the industry convergence. However, most of them have dealt mainly with case studies or strategy and policies and few efforts have been made to study it using quantitative data. The investigation of industry convergence using quantitative data will help understand the characteristics of industry and forecast the future of the industry from an objective point of view. Therefore, this research proposes a methodology to evaluate the possibilities of industry convergence using patent data. In particular, we emphasize the possibilities of technology convergence and suggest a technology relationship matrix to evaluate the technology convergence, as an antecedent of industry convergence. The feasibility and utility of the suggested methodology was verified with a case study on the convergence of IT and BT. The research results are expected to provide a useful guideline for developing a measure of convergence.

We establish a general theorem to approximate fixed points of quasicontractive operators on a normed space through the Noor iteration process with errors in the sense of Liu [9]. Our result generalizes and improves upon, among others, the corresponding result of Berinde [1].

In this paper, we propose a new multistep iteration for a finite family of asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings in convex cone metric spaces. Then we show that our iteration converges to a common fixed point of this class of mappings under suitable conditions. Our result generalizes the corresponding result of Lee [5] from the closed convex subset of a convex cone metric space to whole space.

In this paper, a kind of modified $q$-Bernstein-Schurer operators is introduced. The Korovkin type statistical approximation property of these operators is investigated. Then the rates of statistical convergence of these operators are also studied by means of modulus of continuity and the help of functions of the Lipschitz class. Furthermore, a Voronovskaja type result for these operators is given.

This paper proposes an algorithm for fingerprint identification using phase only correlation. This algorithm uses the phase of fast Fourier transform and correlation function to calculate the similarity. The algorithm gives very clear result for identification because it shows only one conspicuous sharp peak for the same person's fingerprint. Further, it shows good results even for the finger print images which are printed not clearly and does not need to preprocess the images. It also shows good results for parallel displacement of fingerprint. The experiment result shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

A convergence theorem for a generalized 𝜑-weakly contractive mapping is proved which satisfy a generalized contraction condition on a complete metrically convex metric space. The result in this paper generalizes the relevant results due to Rhoades [18], Alber and Guerre-Delabriere [1], Khan and Imdad [14], Xue [20] and others. An illustrative example is also furnished in support of our main result.
