In chip plating, several parameters must be taken into consideration. Current density, solution concentration, pH, solution temperature, components volume, chip and media ratio, barrel geometrical shape were most likely found to have an effect to the process yields. The 3 types of barrels utilized in chip plating industry are the conventional rotating barrel. vibrational barrel (vibarrel), and the centrifugal type. Conventional rotating barrel is a close type and is commonly used. The components inside the barrel are circulated by the barrel's rotation at a horizontal axis. Process yield has known to have higher thickness deviation. The vibrational barrel is an open type which offers a wide exposure to electrolyte resulting to a stable thickness deviation. It rotates in a vertical axis coupled with multi-vibration action to facilitate mixed up and easy transportation of components, The centrifugal barrel has its plated work centrifugally compacted against the cathode ring for superior electrical contact with simultaneous rotary motion. This experiment has determined the effect of barrel vibration intensity to the plating thickness distribution. The procedures carried out in the experiment involved the overall plating process., cleaning, rinse, Nickel plating, Tin-Lead plating. Plating time was adjusted to meet the required specification. All other parameters were maintained constant. Two trials were performed to confirm the consistency of the result. The thickness data of the experiment conducted showed that the average mean value obtained from higher vibrational intensity is nearer to the standard mean. The distribution curve shown has a narrower specification limits and it has a reduced variation around the target value, Generally, intensity control in vi-barrel facilitates mixed up and easy transportation of components, However, it is desirable to maintain an optimum vibration intensity to prevent solution intrusion into the chips' internal electrode. At high intensity, the chip's motion becomes stronger, its contact between each other is delayed and so plating action is being controlled. However, the strong impact created by its collision can damage the external electrode's structure thereby resulting to bad plating condition. 1 lot of chip was divided into two equal partion. Each portion was loaded to the same barrel one after the other. Nickel plating and tin-lead plating was performed in the same station. Portion A maintained the normal barrel vibration intensity and portion B vibration intensity was increased two steps higher. All other parameters, current, solution condition were maintained constant. Generally, plating method find procedures were carried out in a best way to maintained the best plating condition. After plating, samples were taken out from each portion. molded and polished. Plating thickness was investigated for both. To check consistency of results. 2nd trial was done now using different lot of another characteristics.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of resistance exercise with vibration stimulation methods on static balance and gait parameters in experienced back pain adults. This study was Three group pretest-posttest design. A total of 30 experienced back pain adults voluntarily participated in the study. Subjects were randomly assigned to the resistance exercise with 8 Hz vibration stimulation(n=10), resistance exercise with 30 Hz vibration stimulation(n=10), and lumbar stabilization exercise groups(n=10). The static balance and the gait parameters, as such stance phase, swing phase, stride length and cadence, were measured using balance measuring equipment and gait analysis treadmill at before and after 6 week. Intervention of each group were performed, three times a week for 6 weeks, and 30 minutes a day. The effect of intervention on static balance, stance phase, swing phase, stride length and cadence were significantly differences after 6 weeks in each group(p<.05). In the comparison of the effects between the groups, static balance and stance phase were significantly difference after 6 weeks(p<.05), but in the swing phase, stride length and cadence, there were no significant differences. As a result, it is considered that resistance exercise with vibration stimulation improved leg muscle strength by a mechanism causing muscle contraction, and the strengthened leg muscle enhanced had a positive effect on balance ability. And improved balance ability was considered a more positive effect on walking ability by allowing the body to stably control posture while moving.
Data acquisition system and computer program developed in this study could be well used in engine vibration analysis. The system and program developed were also operated to be able to control measuring interval, number of channels, number of data. The flywheel was specially studied to provide the proper weight with rubber damper for the engine design at low level of vibration. This study was conducted to obtain basic data which affect the engine vibration. The experiment of this study was performed on original weight flywheel, weight-reduced flywheel, weight-reduced and rubber-coated flywheel, weight-reduced and damper-attached flywheel. Avarage of peak value, maximum vibration, power spectrum density based on FFT analysis are major factors of this experiment. Results were obtained as follows : 1. When rubber was inserted in the flywheel rim of which weight was reduced from 32.2kgf to 24.4kgf, maximum vibration of the engine was decreased 48.3% at X axis, 35.5% at Y axis and 34.6% at Z axis in comparison with the flywheel of original weight. 2. When the flywheel of rubber damper was compared with the original flywheel, the average of absolute vibration for rubber damped flywheel was decreased at X, Y, Z axis and especially its decreasing rate was so high at X-axis comparing with the other flywheel, which implied that rubber damper was very useful to reducing the vibration of the engine at X axis. 3. Hysteresis losses of X, Y, Z axis were greatly decreased in the flywheel with rubber damper on rim. 4. Damped oscillation effect on X and Y axis vibration above average peak vibration by the flywheel of rubber damper on rim was larger than those by the other flywheels. 5. Power spectrums of vibration at real and imaginery part were bi-mode type. The vibration frequency of rubber dampered flywheel which weight is decreased was slightly increased as compared with original flywheel.
For vibration control of stay cables in cable-stayed bridges, viscous dampers are frequently used, and they are regularly installed between the cable and the bridge deck. In practice, neoprene rubber bushings (or of other types) are also widely installed inside the cable guide pipe, mainly for reducing the bending stresses of the cable near its anchorages. Therefore, it is important to understand the effect of the bushings on the performance of the external damper. Besides, for long cables, external dampers installed at a single position near a cable end can no longer provide enough damping due to the sag effect and the limited installation distance. It is thus of interest to improve cable damping by additionally installing dampers inside the guide pipe. This paper hence studies the combined effects of an external damper and an internal damper (which can also model the bushings) on a stay cable. The internal damper is assumed to be a High Damping Rubber (HDR) damper, and the external damper is considered to be a viscous damper with intrinsic stiffness, and the cable sag is also considered. Both the cases when the two dampers are installed close to one cable end and respectively close to the two cable ends are studied. Asymptotic design formulas are derived for both cases considering that the dampers are close to the cable ends. It is shown that when the two dampers are placed close to different cable ends, their combined damping effects are approximately the sum of their separate contributions, regardless of small cable sag and damper intrinsic stiffness. When the two dampers are installed close to the same end, maximum damping that can be achieved by the external damper is generally degraded, regardless of properties of the HDR damper. Field tests on an existing cable-stayed bridge have further validated the influence of the internal damper on the performance of the external damper. The results suggest that the HDR is optimally placed in the guide pipe of the cable-pylon anchorage when installing viscous dampers at one position is insufficient. When an HDR damper or the bushing has to be installed near the external damper, their combined damping effects need to be evaluated using the presented methods.

In this paper, the vibration control effect of the Exo-type damping system was investigated by applying the Kagome dampers to 15-story and 20-story frame structure apartment. A new Exo-type damping system composed of the dampers and supporting column was proposed in the previous work and numerical analysis were performed to investigate the effects of optimum stiffness ratio between controlled structure and supporting column, the size of damper and yield ratio of the damper. The numerical analysis results of a structure with Exo-type damping system up to the third story showed that the stiffness ratio should be higher than 7.0 and the damper device yield ratio be at least 8.0% ($V_{damper}/V_{base\;shear$) to effectively reduce the base shear and the maximum drift of the uppermost story. When the Exo-type damping system was installed up to the fifth story, the stiffness ratio should be higher than 2.5 and damper device yield ratio needs to be at least 3.5% ($V_{damper}/V_{base\;shear$) for obtaining the target performance.
An intelligent control technique using a neural network is proposed for offshore structures exposed to sea-bed earthquakes. Fluid-structure interaction effect was considered in developing controller and a training algorithm for the neural network is presented. In the numerical example, the performance of the proposed neural network controller was compared with that of a passive controller and uncontrolled structures. Based on the example, it can be concluded that the proposed neuro-control scheme can be used for offshore structures with nonlinear characteristics due to its interaction with fluid.
The stability and dynamic performance of a flapper-nozzle servo valve depend on several factors, such as the motion of the armature component and the deformation of the spring tube. As the only connection between the armature component and the fixed end, the spring tube plays a decisive role in the dynamic response of the entire system. Aiming at predicting the vibration characteristics of the servo valves to combine them with the control algorithm, an innovative dynamic stiffness based on a distributed parameter model (DPM) is proposed that can reflect the dynamic deformation of the spring tube and a suitable discrete method is applied according to the working condition of the spring tube. With the motion equation derived by DPM, which includes the impact of inertia, damping, and stiffness force, the mathematical model of the spring tube dynamic stiffness is established. Subsequently, a suitable program for this model is confirmed that guarantees the simulation accuracy while controlling the time consumption. Ultimately, the transient response of the spring tube is also evaluated by a finite element method (FEM). The agreement between the simulation results of the two methods shows that dynamic stiffness based on DPM is suitable for predicting the transient response of the spring tube.
A combined computational fluid dynamics(CFD)-Kirchhoff method is presented for predicting high-speed impulsive noise generated by a hovering blade. Two types of Kirchhoff integral formula are used; one for the classical linear Kirchhoff formulation and the other for the nonlinear Kirchhoff formulation. An Euler finite difference solver is solved first to obtain the flow field close to the blade, and then this flow field is used as an input to a Kirchhoff formulation to predict the acoustic far-field. These formulas are used at Mach numbers of 0.90 and 0.95 to investigate the effectiveness of the linear and nonlinear Kirchhoff formulas for delocalized flow. During these calculiations, the retarded time equation is also carefully examined, in particular, for the cases of the control surface located outside of the sonic cylinder, where multiple roots are obtained. Predicted results of acoustic far-field pressure with the linear Kirchhoff formulation agree well with experimental data when the control surface is at the certain location(R=1.46), but the correlation is getting worse before or after this specific location of the control surface due to the delocalized nonlinear aerodynamic flow field. Calculations based on the nonlinear Kirchhoff equation using a linear sonic cylinder as a control surface show a reasonable agreement with experimental data in negative amplitudes for both tip Mach numbers of 0.90 and 0.95, except some computational integration problems over a shock. This concliudes that a nonlinear formulation is necessary if the control surface is close to the blade and the flow is delocalized.
Semi-active control equipments are used to effectually enhance the seismic behavior of structures. Magneto-rheological (MR) dampers are semi-active devices that can be utilized to control the response of structures during seismic loads and have received voracious attention for response suppression. They supply the adaptability of active devices and stability and reliability of passive devices. This paper presents an optimal fuzzy logic control scheme for vibration mitigation of buildings using magneto-rheological dampers subjected to near-fault ground motions. Near-fault features including a directivity pulse in the fault-normal direction and a fling step in the fault-parallel direction are considered in the requisite ground motion records. The membership functions and fuzzy rules of fuzzy controller were optimized by genetic algorithm (GA). Numerical study is performed to analyze the influences of near-fault ground motions on a building that is equipped with MR dampers. Considering the uncontrolled system response as the base line, the proposed method is scrutinized by analogy with that of a conventional maximum dissipation energy (MED) controller to accentuate the effectiveness of the fuzzy logic algorithm. Results reveal that the fuzzy logic controllers can efficiently improve the structural responses and MR dampers are quite promising for reducing seismic responses during near-fault earthquakes.

Recently, the concept of damped outrigger system has been proposed for tall buildings. But, structural characteristics and design method of this system were not sufficiently investigated to date. In this study, the dynamic response control performance of outrigger damper has been analyzed. To this end, a simplified analysis model with outrigger damper system has been developed. An artificial wind of 1000 seconds with 0.1 second time steps was generated by using a Kaimal spectrum. Analysis results show that outrigger damper system is more effective up to 20-23% in the control of dynamic response compared to conventional outrigger system. The increase of outrigger damper capacity usually results in the improved control performance. However, it is necessary to select that proper stiffness and damping values of the outrigger damper system because, the outrigger damper having large capacity is result in heavy financial burden.
