  • Some basic guidelines for changing non-uniform boundary condition in an acoustically small cavity are presented. In this paper, modal summation technique is used to represent inside sound field. From this formulation, corner effect is defined and proposed. The corner in a cavity is good position for changing boundary condition effectively. Impedance circle with same absorption coefficient is defined to find appropriate impedance of absorptive material for better noise control performance.

  • For non-contact structure vibration displacement measurement system, an algorithm for image processing using high speed CCD camera is introduced. The system sets the target to the structure, take picture using camera and image processing is performed to display the vibration data. The algorithm flow is basic preprocessing, projection data generation and curve fitting to find three crossing points for calibration or one center point in limited area.

To control vibration of bridges, Tuned Mass Damper(TMD) that is passive type control device is used. Opimize and prove it. Newmark method is used for a numerical analysis. In case of vehicle is modeled for moving mass that considers the effects of the moving. Also this paper is assumped as the simple supported Bernoulli-Euler beam and considered two dimensional Interaction motion between vehicle and bridge.

  • In this paper, the vibration control of CPM(Controlled-Permanent Magnet) type magnetic levitation system of 1ton is designed and implemented. The target to be controlled has 8 magnets and 4 corners of the maglev module are levitated using a digital feedback controller. The designed controller includes PID type gap controller and speed observer. Its performance is validated by some kinds of experiments.

  • In this paper, a sensorless realization method is proposed for the magnetic levitation system. Also we design the robust servo controller which based on the two degree-of-freedom-control theory and H$\sub$.inf./ control theory for the system. From time responses, we confirm that the proposed sensorless method can be applied the magnetic levitation system. Also the designed controller has the good disturbance rejection and the reference tracking performance.

  • The Hybrid Mass Damper (HMD) has proven effective in mitigating vibrations in high-rise structures subject to seismic and wind-induced excitations. One derivative configuration of the HMD mounts an Active Mass Damper (AMD) atop a Tuned Mass Damper (TMD). However, the control efficacy of such HMDs may be compromised when confronted with loads that exceed their design parameters. Additionally, the confined structural space within high-rise structures often limits the feasibility and economic viability of retrofitting HMD systems. This study introduces an Acceleration-based Fuzzy Power Approach Rate Sliding Mode Control (AFP-SMC) algorithm aimed at enhancing the control efficacy of HMDs while minimizing their stroke and force output requirements. Employing the Canton Tower as a research prototype, an analytical model incorporating HMDs was established, and a comparative analysis between the AFP-SMC and Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control algorithms was conducted for efficacy. The control performance of the AFP-SMC control algorithm under different control parameter variations was investigated. Furthermore, by experimentally assessing the AMD subsystem within the Canton Tower, friction and ripple force formulas were derived to bolster the analytical model, thereby validating the robustness of the AFP-SMC algorithm. The results show that the proposed AFP-SMC algorithm effectively reduces the vibration response of the structure and the stroke and control force output of HMDs, and exhibits superior overall control performance and robustness compared to the LQG algorithm.

  • In recently, the vibration control of adjacent buildings have been studied and magneto-rheological(MR) fluid dampers have been applied to seismic response control. MR dampers can be controlled with small power supplies and the dynamic range of this damping force is quite large. This MR damper is one of semi-active dampers as a new class of smart dampers. In this study, vibration control effect according to the installation location of the MR damper connected adjacent buildings has been investigated. Adjacent building structures with different natural frequencies were used as example structures. Groundhook control model is applied to determinate control force of MR damper. In this numerical analysis, it has been shown that displacement responses can be effectively controlled as adjacent buildings are connected at roof floors by MR damper. And acceleration responses can be effectively reduced when two buildings are connected at the mid-stories of adjacent buildings by MR damper. Therefore, the installation floor of the MR damper should be selected with seismic response control target.

  • This paper presents a variable frequency current control scheme for the air-pressure control of diaphragm. Differ from the conventional air-pressure control of diaphragm, the proposed method uses a single-phase inverter to control the phase current and frequency. The phase current is adjusted to keep the reference air-pressure of the diaphragm. And the current frequency is changed to reduce the mechanical vibration. In order to smooth change of the operation with a constant air-pressure, the frequency is changed according to the voltage reference from the current controller. When the phase current is satisfied to the constant air-pressure, the current frequency is increased to reduce the vibration of the diaphragm. When the reference voltage to keep the phase current is over than the set value, the current frequency is decreased to keep the air-pressure. The proposed control scheme is verified by the experimental test of a commercial diaphragm.
