Study on development of vessel shore report management system for IMO MSP 8

  • In this study, a Vessel Shore Report Management System (VSRMS) is developed for the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Maritime Service Portfolio (MSP) Number 8, which comprises vessel shore reporting. Several documents have to be completed before the arrival/departure of a vessel at a port, as each national port has its own reporting format and data. The present vessel reporting system is inefficient, time-consuming, and involves excessive paperwork, which results in duplications and errors. To solve this problem, in this study, the vessel reporting formats and data contents of various national ports are investigated, as at present, the reporting documents required by the current IMO standard includes insufficient information which is requested by national ports. Initially, the vessel reporting information of various national ports are collected and analyzed. Subsequently, a database structure for managing vessel reporting data for ports worldwide is devised. To make the transfer of data and the exchange of information of vessel reports much more reliable, efficient, and paper-free, VSRMS, which is a software application for the simplification and facilitation of vessel report formalities, is developed. This application is developed using the latest Microsoft C#.Net Programming Language in the Microsoft Visual Studio framework 4.5. It provides a user interface and a backend MySQL server used for database management. SAP Crystal Reports 2013 is used for designing and generating vessel reports in the original report formats. The VSRMS can facilitate vessel reporting and improve data accuracy through the reduction of input data, efficient data exchange, and reduction of the cost of communication. Adoption of the VSRMS will allow the vessel shore reporting system to be automated, resulting in enhanced work efficiency for shipping companies. Based on this information system and architecture, the consensus of various international organizations, such as the IMO, the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), the Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents (FONASBA), and the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), is required so that vessel reporting is standardized internationally.

  • The unitized regenerative fuel cell (URFC) is a method that can reduce costs and increase system simplification by unitizing a fuel cell system and a water electrolysis system. The spray method is suitable as the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) manufacturing method for URFC because it is easy to control the amount of catalyst, the size of the system is small, and economical manufacturing is possible. In this study, a numerical analysis of the effect of solution concentration on the spray method was performed to use it as basic data for the spray method to be used in MEA manufacturing. As result, as the Nafion solution concentration decreases it was found that the spray speed and the mass flow rate and the discrete phase model concentration increases and the spray range widens.

자동백색보정 기능에 사용되는 단색 영상 검출 구조의 간소화 및 성능 향상 (Simplification and Improvement of One Color Detector Structure for Automatic White Balancing)

  • 본 논문은 피사체의 고유의 색을 나타내기 위한 자동 백색 보정 기능에서 단색 영상에 대한 색상 왜곡현상을 보정하는 단색 영상 검출기의 구조개선 및 성능 향상을 수행한 구조를 제안한다. 제안한 구조는 뛰어난 효율성으로 인해 모바일 폰 카메라에 널리 사용되는 Grayworld 알고리듬을 통한 백색 보정 기능에 적용되는 단색 영상 검출기로써, 입력 영상의 색 분포 특성을 파악하여 단색 영상의 입력 시 해당 색상을 제외한 나머지 영역으로 자동 백색 보정기능을 수행하도록 하는 역할을 수행한다. 제안한 구조는 기존 구조에 비해 다양한 영상의 입력에 대응 가능하며, 영상의 크기 및 촬영 환경에 따라 임계값의 변경이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 또한 하드웨어 구조의 간소화를 통해 기존 대비 약 80%의 하드웨어 크기가 감소되었다.

능동형 RFID 시스템의 성능 향상을 위한 연구 (Study on the Performance Improvement of Active RFID System)

  • 본 연구에서는 우선 고속으로 태그 수집을 위한 2.4 GHz 능동형 RFID 시스템의 시뮬레이션 모델을 구축 하였다. 그리고 단순화 된 Collection 명령과 Ack 절차, 슬롯의 충돌 확률(k1)과 충돌이 발생한 슬롯의 평균 태그 수($k_2$)를 이용하여 태그수를 예측하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 이들에 따른 능동형 RFID 시스템의 성능 추적을 구축한 시뮬레이션 모델을 통해 획득하였다. Query 명령을 사용하여 Collection 명령과 Ack를 간소화하고 $k_1$$k_2$를 이용하여 태그수를 예측하는 방법의 조합이 모든 성능 면에서 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 Query 명령을 이용한 Collection 명령과 Ack의 간소화는 태그 인식 속도를 줄이는데 기여했고 $k_1$$k_2$를 이용하여 태그수를 예측하는 방법은 Throughput을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 이로 인해 Collection 라운드 횟수를 줄여 태그 인식 속도를 줄일 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 방법은 Throughput, 평균 인식 시간, 1초 안의 평균 인식률 모두에서 이상적인 경우의 성능값과 매우 유사하게 나타나 제안한 방법의 유효성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

Study of an In-order SMT Architecture and Grouping Schemes

  • In this paper, we propose a simultaneous multithreading (SMT) architecture that improves instruction throughput by exploiting instruction level parallelism (ILP) and thread level parallelism (TLP). The proposed architecture issues and completes instructions belonging to the same thread in exact program order. The issue and completion policy greatly reduces the design complexity and hardware cost of our architecture, compared with others that employ out-of-order issue and completion. On the other hand, when the instructions belong to different threads, the issue and completion orders for those instructions may not necessarily be identical to the fetch order. The processor issues instructions simultaneously from multiple threads to functional units by exploiting ILP and TLP, and by dynamic resource sharing. That parallel execution notably improves performance and resource utilization with minimal additional hardware cost over the conventional superscalar processors. This paper proposes an SMT architecture with grouping as well as one without grouping. Without grouping, all threads dynamically and flexibly share most resources. On the other hand, in the SMT architecture with grouping, in which resources and threads are divided into several groups for design simplification, resources are shared only among threads belonging to the same group as those resources. Simulation results show that our processors with four and eight threads improve performance by three or more times over the conventional superscalar processor with comparable execution resources and policies, and that reasonable grouping reduces the design complexity of SMT processors with little negative effect on performance.

Web기반 CAD를 이용한 지리정보시스템 구현 (Development of GIS Application using Web-based CAD)

  • 본 연구는 Web기반의 CAD를 이용한 지리정보시스템으로 시스템 설계자, 운영자, 이용자에게 보다 편리하고 다양한 기능을 제공하기 위해 이루어 졌다. 시스템 구현은 공간자료를 이용하여 HTML, Java Script, ASP, Whip ActiveX Control로 사용자 인터페이스를 구현하였으며 다음과 같은 특징을 갖는다. 첫째, 시스템 설계자는 기존의 Web과 CAD에 대한 기초적인 지식만 있으면 구축이 가능하도록 하였다. 이를 위해 시스템구조는 2계층(2-Tier)으로 단순화하였다. 위치정보는 DWF를 이용한 파일시스템으로 구축하였으며, 속성정보는 확장성을 고려하여 DBMS를 이용하였다. 둘째, 시스템 운영자에게는 고가의 공간엔진을 구입하지 않고도 기존의 Web 방식만으로도 지리정보시스템을 독립적으로 구동할 수 있도록 함으로서 경제성을 갖도록 하였다. 셋째, 인터넷 이용자에게는 고차원적 GIS 기능은 없애고 표현과 검색 기능 중심으로 간략 명료하게 설계하였다. 주요기능은 정보검색, 지도조작, 인쇄 기능 등으로 하며, 필요에 따라 손쉽게 기능추가가 가능하도록 하였다. 이상과 같이 구현된 시스템은 기존 문자나 이미지 중심 방식보다 벡터 방식을 이용하므로 용량이 적을 뿐만 아니라 속도가 매우 빠르다. 또한, 이러한 시스템은 도시의 주요 상권 관광 홍보에 이용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 지자체에서 보유하고 있는 벡터지도를 이용할 경우 적은 비용으로 손쉽게 시스템을 구현할 수 있다. 또한, 민간 인터넷 시장에도 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

열차 운행 중인 기관사의 각성상태 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study Concerning Analysis of Arousal State of locomotive Engineering During Operating Train)

  • The study for the passenger's comfortableness of vehicles and the arousal of car drivers has been done widely. On the other hand, there are few studies for the locomotive engineers. Human error means that the mistakes made by human, recently it receives attention in the field of safety engineering and human engineering. Comparing the operating condition of train with car, because of the simplification of the visual stimulus, the arousal level on the train goes down easily. The arousal level down makes judgement down, the accident risk from human error is getting bigger. In this study, we measured bio-signals(ECG, EDA, PPG, respiration and EEG) from 6 locomotive engineers to evaluate their arousal state while they operated the train. Also we recorded the 3 axes acceleration signal showing the vibration state of train. Also, the existence of tunnels were simultaneously measured. At the station section where the train speed goes down, the size of vector's sum decreases because of reduced vibration. Beta component in EEG tends to increase at the entering point of each station and tunnel. It is due to the arousal reaction and tension growth. The mean SCR(skin conductance response) was more increased in neutral section. As the button control movement (body movement) increases in the neutral section, it is appeared that SCR increase. RR interval tends to gradually increase during train operation for 1 hour 40 minutes. However, It tends to sharply decrease at the stop station because strong concentration needed to stop train on the exact point. The engineer's arousal reaction can be checked through analysing the bio-signal change during train operation. Therefore, if this analysing result is adopted to the sleepiness prevention caution system, it will be useful for the safety train operation.

러프집합과 계층적 분류구조를 이용한 데이터마이닝에서 분류지식발견

  • 본 논문은 제어 시스템에서 규칙기반과 데이터 마이닝에서의 분류규칙의 명료함에 대해 다룬다. 대용량의 데이터로부터 유용한 정보를 얻어내는 데이터 마이닝은 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 인공지능에 기반을 둔 데이터 마이닝 분류기법에는 신경망, 의사결정나무 등 여러가지가 있지만 그 결과는 명확하고 이해하기 쉽고 분류규칙이 간단명료해야 한다. 러프집합이론은 불충분하고 비일관적인 데이터로부터 의미있는 지식을 추출하는데 효과적인 기법이고, 다양한 속성들을 효과적으로 사용함으로써 분류와 근사화에 대한 좋은 해법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 러프집합이론의 근사화를 이용하여 알갱이 속에 숨겨져 있는 지식들을 찾아내는데 있어 효과적인 접근을 하였으며, 최상위 레벨에 코어를 적용하여 계층적 분류를 함으로써 대량의 데이터를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안된 분류방법은 정보시스템의 해석을 용이하게 하고 최소의 분류규칙을 만든다.

Assessment of Perspective Development of Transport and Logistics Systems at Macro and Micro Level under the Conditions of Industry 4.0 Integration

  • The change of the development of transport and logistics systems occurs with the active change of technology and the advent of the era of Industry 4.0. It requires modernization of approaches to the development of transport and logistics systems at the macro and micro levels. The present study aims to identify perspective directions of development and evolution, find out the existing obstacles in the integration of technological solutions of transport and logistics systems at the macro and micro levels. This study is based on a quantitative and qualitative methodology for assessing the level of integration of technologies into transport and logistics systems to study the prospects for their development at the micro level. Macroeconomic indicators of transport and logistics in the context of different regions of the world were used to quantify the development prospects. For a qualitative assessment of the development of the transport and logistics system, the case study method was used. The object of the study was selected logistics company Sensco Logistics Inc., Austin TX. At the macro level, countries with more innovative logistics sectors have stronger mechanisms for coordinating private sector activities. Simplification of administrative procedures of control and regulation by the public sector in order to facilitate trade between countries is a promising direction for the development of transport and logistics systems. Such reforms are more effective in developing a "rigid" transport infrastructure. The integration of Industry 4.0 technology solutions into the international logistics sector is defined by political and legal barriers, especially in developing countries. In low-income countries, hard and soft infrastructure reforms are hindering the development of logistics companies that provide transport services. This determines the national level of development of transport and logistics systems, and in general the global level of development of transport and logistics. In developed countries, the legal barriers to the development of new technological logistics are environmental requirements for the integration of technologies into the transport system. These trends are slowing down the development of International Logistics, which, compared to other industries, is slower to integrate Industry 4.0 technologies. This study combines macroeconomic factors that determine the prospects for the development of transport and logistics systems at the micro level.
