Modelling and simulation of a closed-loop electrodynamic shaker and test structure model for spacecraft vibration testing

  • During launch a spacecraft is subjected to a variety of dynamical loads transmitted through the launcher to spacecraft interface or air-born transmission excitations in the acoustic pressure field inside the fairing. As a result, spacecraft are tested on ground to ensure and demonstrate the global integrity of the structure against these loads, to screen the flight hardware for quality of workmanship and to validate mathematical models. This paper addresses the numerical modelling and simulation of the low frequency sine and random vibration tests performed on electrodynamic shaker facilities to comprise the mechanical-borne transmission loads through the launcher to spacecraft interface. Consequently, the paper reviews techniques and methodologies to derive a reliable and representative coupled virtual vibration testing simulation environment based on experimental data. These technologies are explored with the main objectives to ensure a stable, reliable and accurate control while testing. As a result, the use of the derived simulation models in combination with the added value of improved control and signal processing algorithms can lead to a safer and smoother vibration test control of the entire environmental test campaign.

볼텍스쉐이커를 이용한 11개 나노물질의 분진날림 비교 (Comparison of Dustiness of Eleven Nanomaterials using Voltex Shaker Method)

  • Objectives: Dustiness of nanomaterials is considered as exposure index of essential material. Research on dustiness of nanomaterial is needed to control exposure in workplaces. Method: Dustiness measurement using vortex shaker were installed in the laboratory. Nanomaterials, 1 g, was put in the glass test tube and shaked using vortex shaker. Aerosol dispersed was measured using scanning mobility particle sizer(SMPS) and optical particle counter(OPC). Mass concentration using PVC filter and cassette was measured and TEM grid sampling was conducted. Total particle concentration and size distribution were calculated. Image and chemical composition of particles in the air were observed using transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer. Eleven different test nanomaterials were used in the study. Results: Rank of mass concentration and particle number concentration were coincided in most cases. Rank of nanomateirals with low concentration were not coincided. Two types of fumed silica had the highest mass concentration and particle number concentration. Indium tin oxide, a mixture of indium oxide and tin oxide, had high mass concentration and particle number concentration. Indium oxide had very low mass concentration and particle number concentration. Agglomeration of nanoparticles in the air were observed in TEM analysis and size distribution. In this study, mass concentration and particle number concentration were coincided and two index can be used together. The range of dustiness in particle number concentration were too wide to measure in one method. Conclusion: Particle number concentration ranged from low concentration to high concentration depend on type of nanomaterial, and varied by preparation and amount of nanomaterial used. Further study is needed to measure dustiness of all nanomaterial as one reference method.

Frequency-Domain Balanced Stochastic Truncation for Continuous and Discrete Time Systems

  • A new method for relative error continuous and discrete time model order reduction is proposed. The reduction technique is based on two recently developed methods, namely frequency domain balanced truncation within a frequency bound and inner-outer factorization techniques. The proposed method is of interest for practical model order reduction because in this context it shows to keep the accuracy of the approximation as high as possible without sacrificing the computational efficiency. Numerical results show the accuracy and efficiency enhancement of the method.

유압실린더의 위치제어를 위한 시스템 인식을 통한 FRF 기반의 제어기 설계 방법 (FRF based Position Controller Design through System Identification for A Hydraulic Cylinder)

  • 본 논문은 소형 6축 가진기에 적용되는 유압 실린더의 위치제어를 위한 제어기 설계 방법을 제안하였다. 먼저, 가진기의 움직임을 정확히 제어하기 위해서 각각의 유압 실린더의 정확한 위치 제어가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 FRF(Frequency Response Function)을 적용한 시스템 인식 기법을 이용하여 유압 실린더의 위치 제어를 위한 제어기 알고리즘을 제안하였다. FRF는 액튜에이터의 입력에 따른 출력의 거동을 확인한 후, 전달함수를 계산하고 최종적으로 새로운 제어 입력을 생성하는 방법이다. 최종 결과는 PID 제어기와 비교하여 성능을 확인하였다.

  • 우리나라 최초의 정지궤도위성 개발을 위하여 발사 시 발생하는 진동환경을 지상에서 구현하기 위한 전체 시스템 구축 및 검증이 요청되었다. 정지궤도위성은 기존 개발 위성대비 중량이 대폭 증가하여 수직 가진시스템의 경우, 신규 가진시스템 개발이 필요하였다. 수평 가진시스템은 고정용 치구와 슬립테이블의 열특성 차이에 따른 확인 및 수평방향 가진 시스템의 모멘트 성능 검증이 요청되었다. 또한 데이터 습득 요구 채널의 증가로 인하여 신규로 제어 및 습득 시스템을 구축하였다. 본 연구에서는 진동환경 시스템 전체에 대한 검증 과정 및 안정성 향상을 위해 적용한 여러 기법들을 소개하고자 한다.

자기변형재료와 PPF 알고리즘을 이용한 작동기의 진동제어 (Vibration Control of Actuators Using Magnetostrictive Materials and PPF Algorithm)

  • In this research, using Terfenol-D actuator composed of magnetostrictive material as shaker and controller, active vibration control theory was applied and verified by experiments. PPF(positive Position Feedback) algorithm which is effective for the control of low frequency vibration was used for the control of a structure. Responses of inputs due to various design variable used for the PPF filter were observed. To investigate the characteristics of magnetostrictive materials, actuator responses were measured for known inputs and satisfactory results were obtained to reduce the vibration level after applying the control input for the actuator.

  • Stay cables, such as are used in cable-stayed bridges, are prone to vibration due to their low inherent damping characteristics. Several methods have been proposed and implemented to mitigate this problem, though each has its limitations. Recently some studies have shown that semiactive dampers can potentially achieve performance levels nearly the same as comparable active devices with few of the detractions. This paper presents the results of a study to evaluate the performance of semiactive dampers for mitigating the vibration of stay cables. Moreover, a number of recently proposed semiactive control algorithms are formulated for use with shear mode MR damper to compare the efficiency of each algorithm through numerical simulation. Numerical simulation considers a stay cable excited by shaker and controlled by shear mode MR dampers. In simulation, the response with a semiactive damper is found to be dramatically reduced compared to the uncontrolled case. Furthermore, it is verified that the algorithm based on Lyapunov control theory is very efficient in mitigating the cable vibration.

랜덤진동제어에서 치구성능향상을 위한 기준스펙트럼의 최적화에 대한 연구 (A study on Optimization of Reference Spectrum for Improvement of Fixture Performance in Random Vibration Control)

  • This paper proposes a method for determination of optimal reference spectrum in random vibration control. The least square method is used to minimize the spectrum deviation between the specified reference spectrum and spectra at the specimen-mounted points. This method needs only the measured FRF's at the control point and specimen-mounted points in pre-vibration test. Using the proposed method as reference spectrum, it is possible to easily predict spectra at the specimen-mounted points, and also to reduce overtest resulting from dynamic characteristics of shaker and fixture. This method is shown through theoretical and experimental results to be an effective method.

무선 센서 네트워크를 이용한 실시간 Feedback 진동제어 시스템 개발 (The Development of Real-time Feedback Vibration Control System Using Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크를 이용한 피드백 진동제어 시스템을 구성하고, 모형 구조물을 대상으로 구성된 시스템의 진동제어효과를 실험적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 블루투스 기반의 무선 I/O 센서 시스템과 스마트 재료를 사용한 전단형 MR 댐퍼를 개발하고, 또한 일정한 크기의 정현파형을 발생시키는 가진기 및 모형 단순보 구조물을 이용하여 피드백 진동제어 시스템의 실험�V을 구성하였다. 진동제어 실험은 가진기를 이용해 보의 1/4 등분점에서 일정하게 가진한 상태에서, 보 중앙점에 수직방향으로 설치된 MR 댐퍼를 이용해 진동을 제어하였으며, 보의 2/4 등분점에서의 가속도 응답을 획득하여 제어효과를 평가하였다. 이때, 제어명령은 보 중앙점에 무선 I/O 센서 노드를 설치하고, 여기서 획득된 가속도 응답이 일정 크기 이상일 경우에 설정된 범위의 전압신호를 MR 댐퍼로 출력하도록 설정하였다. 최종적으로 본 논문에서 구성된 무선 센서 네트워크 기반의 실시간 피드백 진동제어 시스템은 비록 제한적인 명령 체계에서 검증되었지만, 실시간적으로 목적된 제어명령의 발생시킴으로써 구조물의 진동을 효과적으로 감소시키는 것을 확인하였고, 추후 다양한 준능동 제어 알고리즘을 적용한 구조적 응답제어시스템으로의 활용 가능성을 제시하였다.

  • In this research, we are trying to develop an automatic sorting system, which is mostly affected by frictional forces between a veneer and plank. So we will make a suitable dynamic model and mechanism to control the velocity feedback. We will suggest stick-slip motion model which can predict the stability behavior of this system. The control system has a feedback loop, in which the following operations are included. A kind of sensor can get the velocity of the mass to adhesive veneer.
