  • This paper represents mechanical compliance & ZMP(Zero Moment Point) control algorithm for IWR(Inha Walking Robot) system. In case of walking in different environments, a biped walking robot must vary its gait(walking period or step length, etc.) according to the environments. However, most of biped walking robots do not have the capability to change their gaits or need more complex control algorithm, because ZMP cannot be defined in their control algorithm. Therefore new linear type with balancing joint is proposed which is used as an aid in balancing & ZMP control itself. In IWR system, ZMP can be defined by solving differential equations and it does not need to be predefined ZMP trajectory. Furthermore we can input the desired ZMP position. In parallel with the development, we also considered a mechanical compliance for reducing the inverse kinematics, dynamics and the control complexity. It will figure out some powerful adaptation with 3D irregular terrains.

  • This paper obtains maximum allowable delay bounds for stability of network-based control systems and presents a network scheduling method which makes the network-induced delay be less than the maximum allowable delay bound. The maximum allowable delay bounds are obtained using the Lyapunov theorem. Using the network scheduling method, the bandwidth of a network can be allocated to each node and the sampling period of each sensor and controller can be determined. The presented method can handle three kinds of data (periodic, real-time asynchronous, and non real-time asynchronous data) and guarantee real-time transmissions of real-time synchronous data and periodic data, and possible transmissions of non real-time asynchronous data. The proposed method is shown to be useful by examples in two types of network protocols such as the token control and the central control.

  • Robot control software is a hard real-time system that must output the planned trajectory points within an explicit short time period. In this paper, we present a design and implementation method for robot control software using commercial real-time operating systems, RTKemel 4.5. Therefore, various robot motions, efficient user interface, and system failure check are easily implemented by using multitasking function, intertask communication mechanism, and real-time runtime libraries of RTKernel. The performance analysis of commercial real-time operating system for robot control is presented based on Timed Petri net(TPN) and we can use these results to design an optimal system.

  • In this paper, the effect of computing time-delay in the real-time digital fuzzy control systems is investigated and the design methodology of a real-time digital fuzzy controller(DFC) to overcome the problems caused by it is presented. We propose the fuzzy feedback controller whose output is delayed with unit sampling period. The analysis and the design problem considering computing time-delay is very easy because the proposed controller is syncronized with the sampling time. The stabilization problem of the digital fuzzy control system is solved by the linear matrix inequality(LMI) theory. Convex optimization techniques are utilized to find the stable feedback gains and a common positive definite matrix P for the designed fuzzy control system Furthermore, we develop a real-time fuzzy control system for backing up a computer-simulated truck-trailer with the consideration of the computing time-delay. By using the proposed method, we design a DFC which guarantees the stability of the real time digital fuzzy control system in the presence of computing time-delay.

  • The Building Design Control Commission has various important roles as the final check point for the overall urban management. Although nobody can argue that the committee is useless, participants' assessments on the results of the introduction and operation of the Building Design Control Commission are diversified. The primary purpose of this thesis lies in the institutional examination of the contents related with Building Design Control Commission by using the literature inquiry. The second purpose is to provide a help for the improvement of discussion of the administrative structure and improvement of the urban aesthetic through the systematic analysis of Building Design Control System. The extent of space is selected according to the case of building planning deliberation of Jeju-Si as the axis of Free International City, the center of administration, education, and culture. The period of time of examination is from January, 2002 to December, 2002. The subject of study is apartment which is deeply related with our lives by analyzing 2,231 discussion cases.

  • This paper presents the development of smart road line lamp system consisting light control device. It can perform the individual power control or partial on/off control of a LED lamp by control center and can detect the error of the LEDs by current sensing. Also, the ability to control the brightness and period of on/off by detecting the car's existence. This light control circuit consists of road line lamp unit device. It can give a lot of solutions when the server, which controls the whole system, is operated through CDMA(Code-Division Multiple Access) network.

  • This paper presents a new linear-matrix-inequality-based intelligent digital redesign (LMI-based IDR) technique to match the states of the analog and the digital T-S fuzzy control systems at the intersampling instants as well as the sampling ones. The main features of the proposed technique are: 1) the affine control scheme is employed to increase the degree of freedom; 2) the fuzzy-model-based periodic control is employed, and the control input is changed n times during one sampling period; 3) The proposed IDR technique is based on the approximately discretized version of the T-S fuzzy system, but its discretization error vanishes as n approaches the infinity. 4) some sufficient conditions involved in the state matching and the stability of the closed-loop discrete-time system can be formulated in the LMIs format.

  • In discrete-time controlled system, sampling time is one of the critical parameters for control performance. It is useful to employ different sampling rates into the system considering the feasibility of measuring system or actuating system. The systems with the different sampling rates in their input and output channels are named multirate system. Even though the original continuous-time system is time-invariant, it is realized as time-varying state equation depending on multirate sampling mechanism. By means of the augmentation of the inputs and the outputs over one Period, the time-varying system equation can be constructed into the time-invariant equation. In this paper, an alternative time-invariant model is proposed, the design method and the stability of the LQG (Linear Quadratic Gaussian) control scheme for the realization are presented. The realization is flexible to construct to the sampling rate variations, the closed-loop system is shown to be asymptotically stable even in the inter-sampling intervals and it has smaller computation in on-line control loop than the previous time-invariant realizations.

  • A discrete-time learning control for robotic manipulators is studied using its pulse transfer function. Firstly, discrete-time learning stability condition which is applicable to single-input two-outputs systems is derived. Secondly, stability of learning algorithm with position signal is studied. In this case, when sampling period is small, the algorithm is not stable because of an unstable zero of the system. Thirdly, stability of algorithm with position and velocity signals is studied. In this case, we can stabilize the learning control system which is unstable in learning with only position signal. Finally, simulation results on the trajectory control of robotic manipulators using the discrete-time learning control are shown. This simulation results agree well with the analytical ones.

  • In the conventional sliding mode control technique, a priori knowledge of the bound of external disturbances or/and parameter uncertainties is required to assure control robustness. This, however, may not be easy to obtain in practical situation. This work presents a novel methodology, a sliding mode controller with perturbation estimator, which offers a robust control performance without a priori knowledge about the perturbations (disturbances and parameter uncertainties). The proposed technique is featured by an integrated average value of the imposed perturbation over a certain sampling period. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, a two-link robotic system is adopted and its position control performance is evaluated. In addition, a comparative work between the conventional technique and the proposed one is undertaken.
