This study examined the effects of a forest environment on internet addition and the self-esteem of internet-addicted adolescents. For comparison, the same group counseling programs were conducted in a classroom not in the forest. Twenty-four second grade students from a Middle School in S-city were grouped with 8 members in each group. Each group joined this program 6 times. The group results were then compared over a follow-up period. The dependent variables were the internet addiction scores and self-esteem scores. In the research results, the experimental group that undertook this program in the forest environment showed significantly different internet addiction scores compared to the control group immediately after the program and during the follow-up period. According to the period, the experimental group showed a significant difference in the internet addiction scores compared to the previous scores, immediately after the program and during the follow-up period. The comparison group showed no significant difference compared to the control group immediately after the program and during the follow-up period. The program in the forest environment showed a significant difference in the self-esteem scores compared to the comparison group and the control group immediately after the program and during the follow-up period. The self-esteem scores of the experimental group increased significantly compared to the comparison group and control group. In addition, the self-esteem scores of the comparison group also increased significantly, compared to the control group. The self-esteem scores of the experimental group also increased significantly, compared to the previous scores, immediately after the program and during the follow-up period. These results suggest that a natural environment, such as a forest, has therapeutic effects on decreasing the addiction symptoms' of internet addiction adolescents and also helps raise their self-esteem. Nevertheless, more study will be needed to verify what effects the forest environment have on the therapeutic mechanism on various addicts. Lastly, the constraints and implications of this research are described.

PURPOSE. Early loading of implant can be determined by excellent primary stability and characteristic of implant surface. The implant system with recently improved surface can have load application 4-6 weeks after installing in maxilla and mandible. This study evaluated the effect of healing period to the stability of hydrophilic tapered-type implant at maxillary posterior area. MATERIALS AND METHODS. This study included 30 patients treated by hydrophilic tapered-type implants (total 41 implants at maxilla) and classified by two groups depending on healing period. Group 1 (11 patients, 15 implants) was a control group and the healing period was 12 weeks, and Group 2 (19 patients, 26 implants) was test group and the healing period was 6 weeks. Immediately after implant placement, at the first impression taking, implant stability was measured using Osstell Mentor. The patients also took periapical radiographs after restoration delivery, 12 months after restoration and final followup period. The marginal bone loss around the implants was measured using the periapical radiographs. RESULTS. All implants were survived and success rate was 97.56%. The marginal bone loss was less than 1mm after 1 year postoperatively except the one implant. The stabilities of the implants were not correlated with age, healing period until loading, insertion torque (IT), the diameter of fixture and the location of implant. Only the quality of bone in group 2 (6 week) was correlated with the stability of implant. CONCLUSION. Healing period of 6 weeks can make the similar clinical prognosis of implants to that of healing period of 12 weeks if bone quality is carefully considered in case of early loading.

Purpose: The establishment of the trauma system has changed the quality of trauma care in many countries. As one of the first designated level I trauma centers in Korea, we hypothesized that there were changes in laparotomy patterns and subsequent survival rates after the center was established. Methods: This was a 5-year retrospective study of all severe hemoperitoneum patients who were transfused with more than 10 units of packed red blood cells (RBCs) within 24 h of hospitalization. Variables related to trauma were collected throughout the study period, and the patients admitted before (period 1) and after (period 2) the establishment of a trauma center were compared. Results: Forty-five patients were managed from January 2009 to March 2015. The baseline patient characteristics of the two groups, including age, Injury Severity Score, blood pressure, and hemoglobin levels, were similar. The time to the operating room (OR) was $144.3{\pm}51.5$ min (period 1) and $79.9{\pm}44.1$ min (period 2) (p<0.0001). Damage control surgery (DCS) was performed in 17% of patients during period 1 and in 73% during period 2. The number of actual survivors (n=10) was higher than expected (n=8) in period 2. Conclusion: This is the first study analyzing the impact of a trauma center on the management of specific injuries, such as severe hemoperitoneum, in patients in Korea. During the study, the time to OR was shortened and DCS was used to a greater extent as a surgical procedure.
Forecasting of emergence period of the pine gall midge (Thecodiplosis japonensis U. et I.) is important for the chemical control of the pest. In order to determine the phenosignal of the emergence period of the pine gall midge, the flowering time of black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) at Seoul, Gwangnug, Jounju and Gyungju districts in Korea was investigated. 1. The emergence period of the pine gall midge lasted from end of May until end of June. The emergence of the pine gall midge coincided with the beginning of flowering of black locus at every districts in Korea. 2. The peak of emergence of the pine gall midge lasted from the full blooming period until the end of the flowering period of the black locust. 3. The period of adult emergence of pine gall midge was also found to be associated with the full blooming period of Viburnum sargentii (Caprifeliaceae). Rosa mulliflora (Reseaceae) and Iris ensata (Iridaceae) at Seoul in Korea.
The curd yogurt was prepared from milk added with skim milk powder or three Tongil rices of different storage period. The effect of storage period of rice on acid production by lactic acid bacteria in milk containing rice of 2%(w/v) was investigated. The effect of storage period of rice on quality of curd yogurt(sensory property, viscosity and keeping quality) was also examined. Addition of rice stimulated acid production by lactic acid bacteria more than control(milk yogurt). Storage period of rice did not significantly affect acid production by lactic acid bacteria though stimulating effect of rice on acid production was slightly different among species. Sensory property of curd yogurt added with rice was not significantly affected by storage period of rice. Apparent viscosity of curd yogurt added with rice increased in proportion to storage period of rice. Curd yogurt showed characteristics of thixotropic flow. When curd yogurt added with rice was kept at $5^{\circ}C$ for 15 days, its keeping quality was relatively good and was not markedly affected by storage period of rice.
Background: Dried and red ginseng are well-known types of processed ginseng and are widely used as healthy food. The dried and red ginseng quality may vary with the storage period of raw ginseng. Therefore, herein, the effect of the storage period of fresh ginseng on processed ginseng quality was evaluated through multicomponent quantification with statistical analysis. Methods: A method based on ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry in multiple-reaction monitoring mode (UPLC-MRM-MS) was developed for quantitation of ginsenosides and oligosaccharides in dried and red ginseng. Principal component analysis and partial least squares discriminant analysis were conducted to evaluate the dynamic distributions of ginsenosides and oligosaccharides after different storage periods. Results: Eighteen PPD, PPT and OLE ginsenosides and nine reducing and nonreducing oligosaccharides were identified and quantified. With storage period extension, the ginsenoside content in the processed ginseng increased slightly in the first 2 weeks and decreased gradually in the following 9 weeks. The content of reducing oligosaccharides decreased continuously as storage time extending, while that of the nonreducing oligosaccharides increased. Chemical conversions occurred during storage, based on which potential chemical markers for the storage period evaluation of fresh ginseng were screened. Conclusion: According to ginsenoside and oligosaccharide distributions, it was found that the optimal storage period was 2 weeks and that the storage period of fresh ginseng should not exceed 4 weeks at 0 ℃. This study provides deep insights into the quality control of processed ginseng and comprehensive factors for storage of raw ginseng.

Background: In asthma, consistent control of chronic airway inflammation is crucial, and the use of asthma-controller medication has been emphasized. Our purpose in this study is to compare the incidence of acute exacerbation and healthcare costs related to the use of asthma-controller medication. Methods: By using data collected by the National Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, we compared one-year clinical outcomes and medical costs from July 2014 to June 2015 (follow-up period) between two groups of patients with asthma who received different prescriptions for recommended asthma-controller medication (inhaled corticosteroids or leukotriene receptor antagonists) at least once from July 2013 to June 2014 (assessment period). Results: There were 51,757 patients who satisfied our inclusion criteria. Among them, 13,702 patients (26.5%) were prescribed a recommended asthma-controller medication during the assessment period. In patients using a recommended asthma-controller medication, the frequency of acute exacerbations decreased in the follow-up period, from 2.7% to 1.1%. The total medical costs of the controller group decreased during the follow-up period compared to the assessment period, from $3,772,692 to $1,985,475. Only 50.9% of patients in the controller group used healthcare services in the follow-up period, and the use of asthma-controller medication decreased in the follow-up period. Conclusion: Overall, patients using a recommended asthma-controller medication showed decreased acute exacerbation and reduced total healthcare cost by half.

Objective: Intraprocedural rupture (IPR) is a fatal complication of endovascular coiling for cerebral aneurysms. We hypothesized that contrast leakage period may be related to poor clinical outcomes. This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the relationship between clinical outcomes and contrast leakage period. Methods: Data from patients with cerebral aneurysms treated via endovascular coiling between January 2010 and October 2018 were retrospectively assessed. The enrolled patient's demographic data, the aneurysm related findings, endovascular treatment and IPR related findings, rescue treatment, and clinical outcome were analyzed. Results: In total, 2,859 cerebral aneurysms were treated using endovascular coiling during the study period, with IPR occurring in 18 (0.63 %). IPR occurred during initial frame coiling (n=4), coil packing (n=5), stent deployment (n=7), ballooning (n=1), and microcatheter removal after coiling (n=1). Tear sites included the dome (n=14) and neck (n=4). All IPRs were controlled and treated with coil packing, with or without stenting. Flow arrest of the proximal balloon was not observed. Temporary focal neurological deficits developed in two patients (11.1%). At clinical follow-up, 14 patients were classified as modified Rankin Scale (mRS) 0, three as mRS 2, and one as mRS 4. The mean contrast leakage period of IPR was 11.2 min (range: 1-31 min). Cerebral aneurysms with IPR were divided into late (n=9, mean time: 17.11 min) and early (n=9, mean time: 5.22 min) control groups based on the criteria of 10 min of contrast leakage period. No significant between-group differences regarding clinical outcomes were observed after IPR (p=1). Conclusions: In our series, all patients with IPR were controlled with further coil packing or stenting without proximal balloon occlusion within 31 min of contrast leakage. There was no difference in clinical outcomes when the long contrast leakage period group and short contrast leakage period group were compared.
The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical and microbiological effect of chlorhexidine rinse and supragingival plaque control following scaling and root planing on adult periodontal disease. 14 patients with adult periodontitis were selected for the study . They had not taken antibiotics for 6 months and history of dental treatment for 6 months before the study. Patients received a supragingival scaling and root planing under local anesthesia, plaque control group was subjected to professional plaque control 2 times for a period 2 week, chlorhexidine rinse group were subjected to twice daily 0.2% chlorhexidine rinse for a period 2 week. Clinical examination (plaque index, gingival index, probing pocket depth) and distribution of the bacteria morphology of subgingival plaque were monitored on baseline (0 week), 1 week, 2 week, 4 week and 6 week. The results were as follows : 1. Plaque index in chlorhexidine rinse group , plaque control group and control group was significantly reduced during all weeks (P<0.05). 2. Probing pocket depth was significantly reduced at 2, 4, 6 week (P<0.05) in chlorhexidine rinse group and control group, plaque control group was significantly reduced during all weeks (P<0.05). 3. Gingival index was significantly improved at 2, 4, 6 weeks(P<0.05) in chlorhexidine group and plaque control group, control group was significantly improved at 1, 2, 4 weeks (P<0.05). 4. Percentage of cocci was significantly increased at 1, 2, 4 and 6 weeks in chlorhexidine rinse group and control group, plaque control group was significantly increased at 2, 4 and 6 weeks(P<0.05). 5. Percentage of non-motile rods in all group were not significantly changed when compared with those of baseline (0 week) (P<0.05). 6. Percentage of motile rods was significantly reduced during all weeks (P<0.05) in chlorhexidine rinse group, plaque control group was significantly reduced at 2, 4, 6 weeks and 1, 2 and 4 weeks in control group. 7. Percentage of spirochetes was significantly reduced during all weeks (P<0.05), plaque control group was significantly reduced at 2, 4, 6 weeks and 1, 2, 4 weeks in control group. This results were suggested that clinical and microbiological effect of chlorhexidine rinse and supragingival plaque control following scaling and root planing on periodontal disease
This study compared blood metabolites during peri- and postpartum periods among cows with clinical or subclinical endometritis and cows without endometritis. Blood samples from 207 Holstein dairy cows were collected at 4 weeks prepartum, just after calving, and at 1, 2, 4, and 6 weeks postpartum to measure serum concentrations of calcium, magnesium, non-esterified fatty acids (NEFAs), total cholesterol, albumin, urea nitrogen, ${\beta}$-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), ${\gamma}$-glutamyltransferase, glucose, and phosphorus. Clinical endometritis was diagnosed by the observation of vaginal discharge (> 50% pus) and subclinical endometritis was diagnosed by the evaluation of uterine cytology (> 18% neutrophils) at 4 weeks postpartum. Cows were divided into three groups based on the presence or absence of clinical or subclinical endometritis: the control group (n = 104), the clinical endometritis group (n = 66), and the subclinical endometritis group (n = 37). Calcium and magnesium concentrations were lower in the clinical endometritis group than in the control and subclinical endometritis groups throughout the study period (p < 0.05 to 0.0001), whereas the NEFAs concentration was higher in the clinical endometritis group than in the control group throughout the study period (p < 0.01). The total cholesterol concentration was lower in the clinical endometritis group than in the control and subclinical endometritis groups throughout the pre- and postpartum periods (p < 0.05 to 0.001). The albumin concentration was lower in the clinical endometritis group than in the control and subclinical endometritis groups during the postpartum period (p < 0.05 to 0.001). The urea nitrogen concentration was lower in the clinical endometritis group than in the control and subclinical endometritis groups at 4 and 6 weeks postpartum (p < 0.01). At 1 week postpartum, the BHBA concentration was higher in the clinical endometritis group than in the control group (p < 0.05), whereas the AST concentration was higher in the clinical endometritis and subclinical endometritis groups than in the control group (p < 0.05). In conclusion, lower serum concentrations of calcium, magnesium, total cholesterol, albumin, and urea nitrogen, but higher concentrations of NEFAs, BHBA, and AST during the postpartum period were associated with the incidence of clinical endometritis, indicating the importance of balanced nutrition during the transition period.
