Peucedani Radix is the root of Angelica decursiva Franchet et Savatier (=Peucedanum decursivum Maximowicz) or Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn in several Asian countries. The coumarins contained in Peucedani Radix were quantitatively analyzed using HPLC-DAD to develop a simultaneous determination for the quality control of A. decursiva and P. praeruptorum. For quantitative analysis, four major coumarins contained in these medicinal plants were assessed. Nodakenin (1), nodakenetin (2), praeruptorin A (3), and praeruptorin B (4) were separated with a Phenomenex Luna C18 column ($5{\mu}m$, $4.6{\times}250mm$) under the gradient conditions using distilled water with 0.1% phosphoric acid and acetonitrile with 0.1% phosphoric acid as the mobile phase, at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min and a detection wavelength of 330 nm. This method was fully validated for linearity, accuracy, precision, recovery, and limit of detection and quantification. As a result, A. decursiva and P. praeruptorum were clearly classified by the quantification of four major coumarins in extracts. Also, the pattern recognition analysis based on HPLC indicates that all of the samples were largely clustered into two groups. Therefore, it is possible to distinguish between A. decursiva and P. praeruptorum and contribute to quality control.
Poloxamer, block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide was crosslinked by diisocyanates and triisocyanates to form water-swellable, physically strong, rubber-like elastic, high biocompatible polyurethanes. The isocyanate-hydroxyl stoichiometry was kept 1:1, but the crosslinking density was varied. The variations examined were the ratio of diisocyanate and triisocyanate. The delivery of two drugs of different water solubilities from hydrogel matrices was studied. It appeared that the drug nature greatly influenced its release kinetics possibly due to drug-polymer interactions. The release profiles, however, could be modified to a great extent by adjusting the polymer network structure Generally the high crosslinking density was required for prolonged drug delivery.
Laminated films composed of drug-containing reservoir layer and drug-free membrane were prepared. Zero-order drug release with lag time was achieved by laminating drug-free film onto the reservoir layer, while burst effect was observed on cast-on film. The rate controlling membrane was either attached to or cast directly into the reservoir. The release rate was independent on the reservoir composition but dependent on the composition of rate-controlling membrane. In growth inhibitory test of cephalexin from Eudragit RS film to Streptococcus Mutans, the disk even after release test for 72 hours showed more bacterial growth inhibition than that of control. Permeation of drug through rat skin was proportional to the HPC fraction in the film. We could control the release of cephalexin from the film by changing the fraction of Eudragit RS, HPC and DEP content. Consequently, Eudragit RS/HPC film was found to be very effective system for local delivery of drugs.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing performance of MultiDrug-Resistant Organisms (MDROs) infection control by nurses in general hospitals. Methods: The research design was a descriptive survey design using convenience sampling. Data were collected from 130 nurses working in 6 general hospitals. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. Results: General hospital nurses' MDROs infection control performance was influenced by their awareness of environmental safety, recognition of MDROs infection control, number of beds in the hospital, whether nurses had nursing experience with infection control and guidelines for MDROs infection control. The most important predictors of MDROs infection control performance were awareness of environmental safety and recognition of MDROs infection control. Conclusion: Findings indicate that it is necessary to include content related to awareness of environmental safety and recognition of infection control in developing MDROs infection control education programs for general hospital nurses.

A high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the simultaneous quantitative analysis of DMDM hydantoin, sorbic acid, phenoxy ethanol in cosmetics was studied by using a X-terra C$\sub$18/ column and 0.75mM KH$_2$PO$_4$ in 0.85% sulfuric acid and methanol mixture(7:3) at 214nm. Calibration curves were found to be linear in the 20-100 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL range (DMDM hydantoin), 50-250 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL range (sorbic acid) and 10-50 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL range (phenoxy ethanol). A bioequivalence study of $Sudo^{TM}$ Ranitidine HCI tablet (Sudo Pharma. Ind. Co., Ltd.) to $Curan^{TM}$ tablet (Il Dong Pharma. Ind. Co., Ltd.) was conducted according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Twenty four healthy male Korean volunteers received each medicine at the ranitidine hydrochloride dose of 150 mg in a 2x2 crossover study. There was a one week wash-out period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of ranitidine were monitored by a high-turbulent liquid chromatography (HTLC) for over a period of 12 hours after drug administration. $AUC_t$ (the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to 12 hr) was calculated by the linear trapezoidal rule method. $C_{max}$ (maximum plasma drug concentration) and $T_{max}$ (time to reach $C_{max}$) were compiled from the plasma concentration-time data. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$. No significant sequence effect was found far all of the bioavailability parameters indicating that the crossover design was properly performed. The 90% confidence intervals of the $AUC_t$ ratio and the $C_{max}$ ratio for $Sudo^{TM}$ Ranitidine $HCl/Curan^{TM}$ were 0.92-1.00 and 0.90-1.03, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of 0.80-1.25. Thus, our study demonstrated the bioequivalence of $Sudo^{TM}$ Ranitidine HCI and $Curan^{TM}$ with respect to the rate and extent of absorption.
The last decade of this centry is now the accepted birth date of that sub-discipline of pharmacy that is now called 'biopharmceutics'. Wagner defines biopharmaceutics 'as the study of the influence of fomulation on the therapeutic activity of a drug product.' More specifically, he states that biopharmaceutics encompasses the study of the relationship between the nature and intensity of the biological effects observed in animals or man and the following factors: 1. The nature of the form of the drug (ester, salt, complex, etc). 2. The physical state, particle size, and surface area. 3. Presence or absence of adjuvants with the drug. 4. The type of dosage form in which the drug is administered. 5. The pharmaceutical process (es) used to make the dosage form. The philosophy inherent in this definition has revolutionized our thinking with respect to product development, quality control, and to the practice of pharmacy itself. Althoughthe the emphasis herein will be on quality control, the interrelationship between this and the other areas of pharmacy will be evident. The principles of quality control dictate that a wide variety of techniques be used to evaluate the quality of a dosage form. Since quality must be built into a dosage form, the pharmaceutical scientist begins the process at the research stage, continues it during the production stage, and ends it by applying the tests and procedures established by parmacopeial commissions. These stages are usually separate and distinct and, because of this, product quality has become synonymous with compliance with pharmacopeial specifications.
Recently there were many studies not only to enhance drug delevery effect but to reduce side effect. Drug delivery system efficiency with decreasing side effect of drug dosage. It made possibility to use for a long term. Polymer drug was prepared by acid halide method with polymer in such of polyacylic acid and sulfacetamide. Its chemical properties were identified by means of IR, TGA. The antibacterial activities of polymer drug were studied by MICs and disk susceptivility test. The antibacterial activities by clean zone were increased in order of Staphyloccus aures
