This study analyzed library awareness and anxiety among people in their 20s living in East Asia. The objective is to develop the international library cooperation agenda for life-long education proliferation. User groups in Korea, China, and Japan were investigated to understand the differences in library awareness based on the situational contexts such as preferred resources, use frequency, educational level, and gender. Results of the data analysis showed the correlation between library anxiety and use patterns such as preferred information sources and frequency of use. Specifically, the user group in China has the highest level of library anxiety with every factor. Also, the Korean user group was measured to have the lowest level of library anxiety in terms of digital information factor. Based on these results, the study presents several recommendations for resolving library anxiety such as embracing new information need with regard to environmental change and suggesting a new space policy for libraries.
WSD(word sense disambiguation) is one of the most difficult problems in Korean information processing. The Bayesian model that used semantic information, extracted from definition corpus(1 million POS-tagged eojeol, Korean dictionary definitions), resulted in accuracy of 72.08% (nouns 78.12%, verbs 62.45%). This paper proposes the statistical WSD model using NPH(New Prior Probability of Homonym sense) and distance weights. We select 46 homonyms(30 nouns, 16 verbs) occurred high frequency in definition corpus, and then we experiment the model on 47,977 contexts from ‘21C Sejong Corpus’(3.5 million POS-tagged eojeol). The WSD model using NPH improves on accuracy to average 1.70% and the one using NPH and distance weights improves to 2.01%.

Over the years, cultural mapping methods have been used in several applications and contexts, for diverse cultural assets and to create new conditions for the development of local and regional resources. These methods were inspired by the development of big urban centres and regions, which have been the great engine of cultural mapping growth. The main objectives of the present paper are to provide a literature review on cultural mapping methodologies and to develop exploratory research on crowdsource tools on creative tourism which were applied to one Portuguese municipality in 2017. The research was supported by the implementation and integration of geographic information systems (GIS) and web mapping, which will become part of the solution for the growth of less developed territories and to make more interactive tourist activities. Web mapping's contribution to enhance crowd participation was measured via analysis of 12 digital photos shared through crowdsourcing. The originality of this research lies in the attempt to develop a new model for creative tourism, trying to extend the implementation of Web Mapping crowdsourcing to deprived low density territories. Results show how public participation can be amplified for the tourism market by crowdsourcing tools. These tools look very promising since they can help several members of the public at different ages to contribute to territorial knowledge, engage in activities, and collaborate through digital tools. It is a step to fulfil the lack of studies in this subject and it contributes to the way we think about future studies.

A robust repositioning method is required for annotations to always maintain proper positions when original documents were modified. Robust anchoring in the XML document provides better anchoring results when it includes features of structured documents as well as annotated texts. This paper proposes robust annotation anchoring method in XML document. To do this, this work presents annotation information as logical structure trees, and creates candidate anchors by analyzing matching relations between the annotation and document trees. To select the appropriate candidate anchor among many candidate anchors, this work presents several anchoring criteria based on the textual and label context of anchor nodes in the logical structure trees. As a result, robust anchoring is realized even after various modifications of contexts in the structured document.
Contemporary Korean art in the 1960s and the 1970s reflects the social and political contexts in Korea from the 5 16 revolution through the Yoo Shin period. This paper investigates whether art has been free from power or not. It examines the power embedded in contemporary Korean art in the 1960s and the 1970s. This paper examines the historical moments of the Korean Art Exhibition, focusing on the complications between the abstract and figurative artworks of the 1960s. One of the significant art exhibitions since the 8 15 liberation of Korea, the Korean Art Exhibition witnessed conflict among Korean artists who wanted to have power in the art world of Korea. Institutional contradiction based on factionalism and conservatism prevailed in the Korean Art Exhibition was attacked by the avant-garde young artists in the 1960s. With the contact of Abstract Expressionism, young artists' generation participated in the The Wall Exhibition. This exhibition challenged and established moral principles and visualized individual expression and creation similar to the Informal movement in the West. In the world of the traditional painting of Korea, the Mook Lim Exhibition of 1960, organized by young artists of traditional painting, advocated the modernization of Soo Mook paintings. Additionally, abstract sculptures in metal engraving were the new trends in the Korean Art Exhibition. In the 1970s, the economic development and establishment of a dictatorial government made the society stiffen. Abstract expression died out and monochrome painting was the most influential in the 1970s. After the exhibition of Five Korean Artists, Five White Colors in the Tokyo Central Art Museum in 1976, monochrome paintings were formally discussed in Korea. 'Flatness' 'physicality of material' 'action' 'post-image' 'post-subjectivity' and 'oriental spirituality' were the critical terms in mentioning the monochrome paintings of the 1970s. 'Korean beauty' was discussed, focusing on the beauty of white which was addressed by not only Yanagi Muneyoshi but also the policy of national rehabilitation under the Yoo Shin government. At this time, the monochrome paintings of the 1970s in Korea, addressing art for art's sake, cutting of communication with the masses, and elitism, came to be authorized.

Article-related product recommender system is an emerging e-commerce service which recommends items based on association in contexts between items and articles. Current services recommend based on the similarity between tags of articles and items, which is deficient not only due to the high cost in manual tagging but also low accuracies in recommendation. As a component of novel article-related item recommender system, we propose a new method for tagging item images based on pre-defined categories. We suggest a hypernetwork-based algorithm for learning association between images, which is represented by visual words, and categories of products. Learned hypernetwork are used to assign multiple tags to unlabeled item images. We show the ability of our method with a product set of real-world online shopping-mall including 1,251 product images with 10 categories. Experimental results not only show that the proposed method has competitive tagging performance compared with other classifiers but also present that the proposed multi-tagging method based on hypernetworks improves the accuracy of tagging.

The context prediction algorithms are not suitable to provide real-time personalized service for users in context-awareness environment. The algorithms have problems like time delay in training data processing and the difficulties of implementation in real-time environment. In this paper, we propose a prediction algorithm with user modeling to shorten of processing time and to improve the prediction accuracy in the context prediction algorithm. The algorithm uses moving path of user contexts for context prediction and generates user model by time-series analysis of user's moving path. And that predicts the user context with the user model by sequence matching method. We compared our algorithms with the prediction algorithms by processing time and prediction accuracy. As the result, the prediction accuracy of our algorithm is similar to the prediction algorithms, and processing time is reduced by 40% in real time service environment.
World Wide Views (WWViews) on Climate and Energy was an experiment of public deliberation which was held in 77 countries with over 10,000 global citizens on June 6, 2015. The coordinator of this project (the Danish Board of Technology with Missions Publiques and the French National Commission for Public Debate) developed the overal procedure, and local partners implemented the actual events in each country on the same day. The coordinator gathered the results of the events from all local sites in order to submit them as global citizens' voice to the COP21 negotiations at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Paris. This study examines the extent to which such new method of WWViews, standardized at global level to be implemented in different local contexts, achieves its quality of public deliberation (representativeness, transparency, impartial inclusion, deliberativeness, influence) by evaluating the Korean WWViews held in Seoul.
This research is conducted through a qualitative methodology, and it aimed for understanding of the generalized structure of getting-together experiences from South Korean who had conversations with North Korean refugees for a long term. As a result, the study, which includes the experiences along with consideration of both contexts and timeline, shows that 'One Korean but divided into South and North', 'Synthesize of water and oil', 'Different from us', 'Understand relativism and deal with it', 'Limitation as an one race: Living different ways on a peninsula' and 'Parallel horizons: Heading to vanishing point' are the key concepts. By understanding these keys, it was able to figure out how their consciousness and acts have been developed in a long term perspective, and thus, we suggest alternative solutions that can be practiced by social workers.
Recently, a lot of articles and writings defending animal right and welfare are introduced into our society. For example, P. Singer's Animal Liberation, T. Regan's The Case for Animal Rights, and J. Rachels's Created From Animal are representative writings of animal ethics. In his books, P. Singer maintains that all animals are equal. T. Regan insisted that animals as a subject of a life have rights. J. Rachels's moral individualism is that how an individual may be treated is to be determined, not by considering his group membership, but by considering his own particular characteristics. Interestingly, they use common argument called 'argument from marginal cases' to justify their theoretical positions. If we can disclose the weakness of the argument, all kinds of animal ethics which defend animal right and welfare such as animal liberation theory, animal rights theory and moral individualism will collapse. In this paper, I will examine the concrete contexts in which Singer, Regan and Rachels make use of the argument. And I will critically examine the argument. Lastly I will show that the attempt to deny the difference of species is unsuccessful.
