  • To vitalize the terrestrial DMB market, we introduce a personalized DMB(PDMB) service model based on metadata, especially DMB ECG XML standardized by TTA, under the convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications. Also we introduce the personalized DMB service system developed to validate the conformance of DMB ECG XML standard and the usefulness of DMB ECG service. The personalized DMB service system is described in details from the authoring stage to the consumption stage of the contents. The results of experimental tests for the personalized DMB service system are also introduced in this paper. We finally address the possibility of making successful personalized DMB services in mobile multimedia broadcasting market.

  • MPEG-7 provides a lot of advantages for retrieving and editing of multimedia data by providing the information of structure and semantics in multimedia data such as digital images and audio. In this paper, a metadata generator and editor system for MPEG-7 is introduced. It suggests the overall technique and framework of generating and editing multimedia data when such content is created. This system also includes not only the functions of generating, editing and saving meta-data of MPEG-7 but also the functions of meta-data editing of moving pictures based on MPEG 1, 2 and browsing of the overall editing process.

  • The paper discusses the nature of Knowledge Organization Systems (KOSs) and shows how these can support digital library users. It demonstrates processes related to integration of KOS like the Dewey Decimal Classification, $22^{nd}$ edition (DDC22) in DSpace software (http://www.dspace.org/) for organizing and retrieving (browsing and searching) scholarly objects. An attempt has been made to use the DDC22 available in Bengali language and highlights the required mechanisms for system-level integration. It may help a repository administrator to build an IDR (Institutional Digital Repository) integrated with SKOS-enabled multilingual subject access systems for supporting subject descriptors based indexing (DC.Subject metadata element), structured navigation (browsing) and efficient searching.

  • High unemployment rates repeatedly cause recurring social problems such as fewer employment opportunities and employment insecurity. Following this trend, various programs related to employment have been provided through various government and institutions. However, they have established overlapping policies and programs and there is no one stop gateway to find effective and efficient way to find relevant information. For this purpose, this study aims to provide employment and job search subject gateway development. The study has carried out case studies, literature reviews, and user survey. Based on this study, it suggested a linked metadata model to organize and link scattered information together, and a digital gateway operating diverse information services. It is expected to provide a basis to develop comprehensive information service model for employment.

  • In recent Information Environment, various Multimedia contents are getting noticed. But, since these contents have various formats of representation and very wide range of information, it was difficult to retrieve contents that user wanted and to utilize it. To solve these problems, many studies presented draft standards for adding metadata to contents, and then, semantic search for contents had become available. Unfortunately, as the number of metadata standards and contents increased, the lack of interoperability between contents was begun and users are faced with difficulty of search contents again. To improve these problems, this paper supports interoperability between metadata standards and expands the semantic relationship between elements and proposes an ontology which is named TOFIC(The Ontology For Imagery Contents) for enhanced semantic search. In TOFIC, the semantic relationships between MPEG-7 and TV-Anytime are classified, and extended new semantics are defined. As a result, semantic search for multimedia contents is enhanced and it is possible to retrieve most of the multimedia contents that exist on the current information environment consistently. In addition, it supports enhanced content-based search for multimedia contents.

  • On the Semantic Web, the content of the documents must be explicitly represented through metadata in order to enable contents-based inference. In this study, we propose a mechanism to convert the Conceptual Graph (CG) into Resource Description Framework (RDF). Quite a large number or representation languages for representing knowledge on the Web have been established over the last decade. Most of these researches are focused on design of independent knowledge description. On the Semantic Web, however, a knowledge conversion mechanism will be needed to exchange the knowledge used in independent devices. In this study, the CG could give an entire conceptual view of knowledge and RDF can represent that knowledge on the Semantic Web. Then the CG-based object oriented PROLOG could support the natural inference based on that knowledge. Therefore, our proposed knowledge conversion mechanism will be used in the designing of Semantic Web-based knowledge representation and inference systems.

  • The rapidly growth of Internet is main factor that activates the Digital Contents market. However imprudent Digital Contents market could be shrunk by imprudent illegal copy and delivery. MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) proposed MPEG-21 Multimedia frameworks in order to solve these problem. IPMP is parts of MPEG-21 Multimedia Frameworks, when Digital Contents goes through production delivery consumption, which defines standard to keep the Digital Contents in safety. Currently IPMP defined by FCD(Final Committee Draft) level. Therefore development of system which applied to latest standard to protect and manage the Digital Contents is required. and the system consists of fourth organizations which means Metadata Production server, Tool server, License server, Consumption server. In this Paper, we made production server to parse REL(Rights Expression Language) document that has right information for content from license server, and create metadata based on MPEG-21 IPMP about the content that applied to watermark. then, after it do remuxing, transmit the protected data to consumption server.

  • In this paper, a package, that is a new type of contents providing new consumer experience under digital broadcasting environments. is introduced. To present various advantages of package that is in standardization process of TV-Anytime Phase-2, a service scenario for personalized educational content is proposed. Then, TV-Anytime Packaging technology to support the scenario is described. It is also shown that the personalized service that provides interactive and personalized consuming experience independent of the types of content and delivery channels is feasible by using TV-Anytime Packaging technology.

  • In this paper, we propose AnoVid, an automated video annotation tool based on deep neural networks, that automatically generates various meta data for each scene or shot in a long drama video containing rich elements. To this end, a novel meta data schema for drama video is designed. Based on this schema, the AnoVid video annotation tool has a total of six deep neural network models for object detection, place recognition, time zone recognition, person recognition, activity detection, and description generation. Using these models, the AnoVid can generate rich video annotation data. In addition, AnoVid provides not only the ability to automatically generate a JSON-type video annotation data file, but also provides various visualization facilities to check the video content analysis results. Through experiments using a real drama video, "Misaeing", we show the practical effectiveness and performance of the proposed video annotation tool, AnoVid.

  • In order to make the effect of the navigation system more direct, the paper proposes a thought of vehicle navigation system based on Video-GIS. A semantic framework has been defined whose core is focused on the integration and interaction of video and spatial information, which supports full content retrieval based on multimodal metadata extraction and fusion, and supports kinds of wireless access mode. Furthermore, requirements of prototype system are discussed. Then the design and implementation of framework are discussed. Next, describe the key ideas and technologies involved. Finally, we point out its future research trend.
