This study examines the impact of consumer ethics on the CSR motive attributions and, the subsequent consumer perception of the firm's ethicality. Data of 512 adults were collected nationwide using a self-administered questionnaire online. Exploratory and confirmative factor analysis were employed to identify six underlying dimensions of consumer ethics, as follows: actively benefiting from illegal actions, passively benefiting from illegal actions, no harm/no foul, economic benefiting from illegal actions, intellectual property infringement, and pro-environmental behavior. In order to examine the relationships between consumer ethics, CSR motive attribution, and consumer perceived ethicality, a structural equation modeling test was conducted. The results demonstrated that actively benefiting from illegal actions, economic benefiting from illegal action, and pro-environmental behavior had impacts on CSR motive attributions such as strategy-driven attribution, value-driven attribution, and stakeholder-driven attribution. Consequently, strategy-driven attribution and value-driven attribution influenced the consumer perception of the firm's ethicality, whereas stakeholder-driven attribution did not. This study provides an understanding of the CSR attribution mechanism from the view of consumer ethics that are multi-dimensional. The ethical judgements on different types of consumer behavior lead to attributions of CSR motives and subsequently their perception of a firm's ethicality.

This study examined the effects of store density levels on consumers'crowding perception and the effects of perceived retail crowding on consumer emotions and in turn shopping behavior. In addition, the study investigated the effects of perceived price value and store type on the segmented dimensions of perceived retail crowding. Results of an experimental test with 3 density levels and 2 store types confirmed the effects of density on social crowding and spatial crowding. While social crowding positively affected arousal, spatial crowding negatively did pleasure which in turn affected approach-avoidance behavior. Though two store types showed the same pattern in such relationships, the effect of perceived price value on retail crowding was different by store type.

The objectives of this study were to group female consumer types according to cosmetics benefits sought at online and off-line cosmetic shopping malls, and to investigate the differences in consumer values, cosmetic purchase behaviors, and demographic variables according to the consumer types. Subjects were 451 females residing in Seoul, of whom 212 were online shoppers and 239 were off-line shoppers. Five dimensions of cosmetics benefits sought were derived by factor analysis. These were functionality, economy, brand, fashion, and practicality. The female consumers were classified into four benefits sought types by cluster analysis of the five dimensions: T.1 'practicality sought type', T.2 'economy sought type', T.3 'brand function sought type', and T.4 'economic function sought type'. Economy sought consumers purchased cosmetics much more from online shopping malls than from off-line. The cosmetics expenses of practicality sought online consumers were low and many of them were in their 20's and middle-class. Economy sought online consumers preferred domestic brand, their cosmetics expenses were low, and many of them were career women. Practicality sought off-line consumers were high in independent value. Economy sought off-line consumers were low in independent value and social approval value, preferred domestic brand, and distributed more in college students than in career women. This study identified the types of consumer review information about apparel products based on consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction with the availability/non-availability of consumer review information for online stores. Data were collected from 318 females aged 20s' to 30s', who had significant experience in reading consumer reviews posted on online stores. Consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction with availability or non-availability of review information on online stores is different for information in regards to apparel product attributes, product benefits, and store attributes. According to the concept of quality elements suggested by the Kano model, two types of consumer review information were determined: Must-have information (product attribute information about size, fabric, color and design of the apparel product; benefit information about washing & care and comport of the apparel product; store attribute information about responsiveness, disclosure, delivery and after service of the store) and attracting information (attribute information about price comparison; benefit information about coordination with other items, fashionability, price discounts, value for price, reaction from others, emotion experienced during transaction, symbolic features for status, health functionality, and eco-friendly feature; store attribute information about return/refund, damage compensation and reputation/credibility of online store and interactive and dynamic nature of reviews among customers). There were significant differences between the high and low involvement groups in their perceptions of consumer review information.

This study was to investigate the value changes in Korean women by analyzing the ads of womens magazines. The contents of ads were classified into two types of values: general and consumption values. The general values, composed of inner-directedness and outer-directrdness, might predict consumer behavior in general. The consumption values, utilitarians and hedonic, were expected to affect the consumer purchasing attitude to a specific product. Factors affecting the cultural values were per capita income and womens social status. Total 2969 illustrated ads with verbal theme from 32 Korean womens magazines were used. The content analysis, chi-square test, logistic regression were done for the analysis. The results showed that inner-directedness was dominant general value in Korean womens culture and increased over time. Younger consumers were more inner-directed than older ones were, and inner-directed values increased with income growth. For the consumption values, utilitarian values were higher than hedonic ones and went up over time. For the product types, utilitarian ads were frequent in cosmetics while hedonic ads were high for apparels. Those results implied that Korean womens culture became more inner-directed with increased income. Also consumption values were likely to differ between product groups. Per capita income was shown to increase inner-directedness while womens social status was to increase outer-directedness.

The purposes of this study were to explore the consumer attitude toward the retail sales, to examine the relationships between the sale attitude and the price-related variables(i.e., price consciousness, sales proneness, and value consciousness), and to examine the effects of the sale attitude and the price-related variables on the perceived price value during the retail sales. Data were collected from 790 undergraduate students using the two types of questionnaires representing the sale and non-sale situations, and 776 responses were analyzed. Factor analysis of the sale attitude extracted five dimensions including price benefit, limited product assortment, impulse buying, low service quality, and disordered store atmosphere. The price benefit and the impulse buying factors were related with all the 3 price-related variables, and all the sale attitude factors were related with the value consciousness. The price benefit and the impulse buying factors positively affected the perceived price value under the sale situation.
This study surveys the state of 'children's snacks' sold within the Green Food Zone and that of High Calorie Foods with Low Nutrition Value (HCFLNV). The main purposes are the analyses of foods in accordance to KFDA Program for HCFLNV and an analysis of differences in HCFLNV that are dependent on relevant factors such as food types, school types, origins, the scale of manufacturing company, area and price. Based on the analyses, educational and political implications have been sought that will form nutritious dietary habits, contribute to the prevention of obesity, and improve health in child consumers. The methodologies of this study are literature studies and surveys. The results of this study can be summarized as following. First, the number of children's snacks is 517 items of total 645 gathered within 150 Green Food Zones. Candies are the most popular item, next are cookies, chocolates, and breads. Second, in the real state survey there are 186 HCFLNV (36.0%) among children's snacks sold within Green Food Zone. Based on the survey results, the marking of HCFLNV on the package of children's snacks and the extension of the ban of HCFLNV sales to all stores within the Green Food Zone are strongly suggested. This provides preliminary data related to children's snacks and food safety. With enforcement of the Special Act on the Safety Management of Children's Dietary Life, the rate of HCFLNV has decreased and the child snack product environment in stores has improved. However, it is necessary to supervise low-priced snacks and promote an awareness of HCFLNV along with the child consumer education of food safety is needed.
