Teacher attitudes and perceptions toward elementary school consumer education were also examined. Although the elementary school teachers clearly understood the importance of consumer education, the problem is that a training workshop or program has not been provided for them. This deficiency needs to be addressed quickly. 3. The third part of the study consisted of an analysis of the curriculum of the 11 Teacher’s Colleges in Korea. This partof study revealed that consumer education was not systematically addressed at Teacher’s Colleges. This finding suggests that it is important to have an included with other opening lecture on consumer education, cultural subject. • This thesis is conducted a survey of consumer problems and dissatisfaction and their complaining behavior. It analyzes the complex and varied consumer problems and dissatisfactions, then minimizes them and motivates active response. Also, this thesis is intended to provide fundamental study that may be used for the formulation of consumer protection polices. For this purpose, questionary survey method was used and the sample was taken from 603 housewives lives in Seoul. The major results of the study are summarized as follows; 1) Quality of product was the most frequent problem among consumer problems and dissatisfaction. 2) The level of consumer complaining behavior was 50.69/100 which is a little above median point. Non-complaining behavior was the most frequent, and followed by private/public behavior, public behavior and private behavior. 3) Path analysis of the variables affecting complaining behavior showed total causal effect to be biggest for degree of information search. The experience of consumer problems and dissatisfaction of consumers caused positive effect though causal relation.

  • The purposes of the study were to: (1) develop instructional method for consumer education of home economics in the middle school. (2) test the effectiveness of the developing instructional method focusing on the problem solving. In the method of the research, literature review related to the consumer education. models of teaching and characteristics of problem solving method were studied. Also, on the basis of theoretical evidence. the teaching plan focusing on problem solving method was developed. In addition, experimental research was done to find out the learning effectiveness on the developing instructional method of the study. This experimental research were made in the six classes of the three middle school in Seoul. For the statistical analysis of the study, frequency, mean and two way ANOVA(factorial design) were used. The results of this study were summarized as follows; (1) The developed instructional method of the study was more effective than the traditional lecture method. (2) The effects of the teaching-learning method were depended on the sex. The learning effects on the female students were higher than the male students. (3) The learning effects on the students were influenced by the sex and teaching method.

  • This study analyzed the consumer consulting type about cosmetics, and examined the characteristics of the consumer consulting type. The data used for the analysis are 7,126 consumer consulting cases of cosmetics, which had been applied for the consumer counseling centers, from July 2010 to June 2011. Through the consumer consulting paper, the consumer consulting types were divided into as follows : purchase, delivery, quality, product, product display and advertising, services, after purchase, simple consulting, seller's unfair bill, and other types of consulting. According to the results of the analysis, consumers were anxious about cosmetics quality and safety, and they also wanted objective information on cosmetics. Consumer consulting type were significantly different by ages. 63.3% of teenagers were consulting about purchase problem. 31.5% of the 20's were consulting about quality, and 26.0% were consulting about purchase. 30's, 40's, more than 50's groups mostly were consulting about quality. Based on that, this study suggests about policy and consumer education for how to use and purchase the cosmetics correctly.

The data in this study is from a survey in 1973 by means of a questionnaire of the opinions of 200 housewives of Seoul. The ${\chi}^2$(Chi-Squire) was applied for the statistical analysis of the data and following results were found. Generally consumers lack understanding of economic matters and satisfactory consciousness on matters of consumption life. And there is significant difference among the class on several matters. That is, the lower economic level and educational background are, the lower the understanding of economic matters and consciousness of satisfaction are. So the consumer education must be carried out for lower class of economic level and educational background. And in the present awakening of salers and makers is needed for consumers.

  • We consider a two-fare, two-period airline seat capacity allocation problem where consumers may choose different options in purchasing an airline ticket. A consumer may decide to wait for reopening of the same fare class ticket which is originally intended to buy, or may buy a different fare class ticket within the same period, if the originally requested fare is unavailable. We investigate the impact of the consumer buying behavior on the optimal solutions and the expected revenue.

  • Recently, game companies are having difficulties in exactly figuring out the right consumer groups for their games. To solve this problem, a system algorithm which recommends user-customized games based on the user information entered has been proposed in this study. Game developers will be able to clearly determine the consumer group(s) of both on and off-line games through accumulated data while consumers can find the game they desire. It is expected that the gaming culture will advance further with the proposed algorithm.

  • This paper presents a new auto brighoess control algorithm fur adaptive background subtraction. The algorithm is designed to cope with the problem of auto-brightness adjustment feature of consumer-type cameras. The experimental results show the proposed method improves performance of the classification. This will be beneficial to many computer vision applications in term of reducing the cost of implementation and making them more available to the mass consumer market.
