This study identified the appropriateness of acceptance models of smart clothing and differences in the hypothesis of the path to clothing acceptance by classifying consumers depending on the level of technology innovation and fashion innovation through the extended TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) presented by Chae (2009). 815 copies of data were collected from adults over twenty living in major South Korean cities and analyzed them using a SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 5.0 package. Based on the average value of technology innovation and fashion innovation, the respondents were classified into: Group 1 with high technology innovation and fashion innovation, Group 2 with high technology innovation but low fashion innovation, Group 3 with low technology innovation but high fashion innovation, and Group 4 with low technology innovation and fashion innovation. The appropriateness of models for the four classified groups was verified. The analysis proved that an extended TAM for each classified group explains the acceptance process of smart clothing; especially the appropriateness of model of Group 1 and Group 4 was comparatively higher than other groups. Perceived usefulness was revealed as the key variable that affects consumer attitudes to accept smart clothing. Perceived ease of use has indirect positive effects on consumer attitudes passing through perceived usefulness and clothing involvement partly exerted impacts on consumer attitudes and the intention of acceptance. The mediating role of attitudes to explain the intention of the acceptance of smart clothing is high and suggests that it is necessary to take a positive role to help the consumer perceive the functional and useful aspects of the clothing.
Purpose - Environment-friendly behaviors are diverse and can be motivated by different factors. For example, magnitude of factors affecting recycling behavior could be different from those affecting purchasing of environmentally-friendly products. In this study, the focus is on usage satisfaction of consumers who have purchased environmentally-friendly products. Research design, data, and methodology - For this purpose, data were collected from a total of 345 users of environmentally-friendly products, consisting of 177 users of electric vehicles and 168 users of environmentally-friendly detergents. The study analyzed the relationships among consumer's innovation propensity, consumer's environmental concern, and usage satisfaction. In addition, the moderating effect of the product's innovativeness was examined. Results - The result shows that there is a relationship between consumer's innovation propensity and consumer's environmental concern. In particular, it is shown that both consumer's innovation propensity and consumer's environmental concern have positive effects on usage satisfaction. Further, there was a moderating effect of the product's innovativeness. Namely, products rated higher in innovativeness showed a greater effect of consumer's innovation propensity on usage satisfaction. The degree of the product's innovativeness also affected the directional paths of the relationships. In the electric vehicle (i.e., high product innovativeness) case, consumer's innovation propensity had a direct effect on usage satisfaction, as well as an indirect effect through consumer's environmental concern. In the environmentally-friendly detergent (i.e., low product innovativeness) case, consumer's innovation propensity only had an indirect effect on usage satisfaction, through consumer's environmental concern. Conclusions - Theoretical contributions of this study are as follows. Foremost, this is the first study that suggests an existence of a relationship between consumer's innovation propensity and consumer's environmental concern. Second, this study showed the positive effect of consumer's innovation propensity on usage satisfaction of environmentally-friendly products. Third, this study expanded the scope of previous studies by showing the interaction between consumer's innovation propensity and consumer's environmental concern. Lastly, this study showed that the effect of these variables on usage satisfaction can differ by the degree of innovativeness of the environmentally-friendly product. The results of the study will have implications for marketers and policy makers in formulating marketing activities and policies.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Chinese consumer characteristics as internal inclination on the trust and purchase intention of on-line shopping mall. Two hundred sixty subjects, who were living in Shanghai, China and were university students, were randomly selected for questionnaire. The effective two hundred forty four questionnaires were used to conduct reliability tests for internal consistency and multiple regressions for relationship between independent and dependent variables with SPSS 10.0. The results from this study were as follows. It showed a significant relationship between the on-line shopping experience, consumer innovation, consumer risk and the trust of on-line shopping mall, however, it didn't show any significant relationship between convenience shopping orientation and the trust of on-line shopping mall. Also, It showed a significant relationship between the on-line shopping experience, consumer innovation and the distrust of on-line shopping mall, however, it didn't show any significant relationship between consumer risk, convenience shopping orientation and the distrust of on-line shopping mall. It showed a significant relationship between purchase intension, the consumer risk and on-line shopping experience which appeared a high trust in on-line shopping mall, however, it didn't show any significant relationship between purchase intension and consumer innovation which appeared a high distrust. Therefore, it could be concluded that in China it is decreasing to purchase through the internet shopping mall every year because the group of consumer innovation, which most of internet users in China belong to it, distrusts the internet shopping mall.

This study analyzes determinants of innovation in Korea manufacturing industries from 2005 to 2007. In order to do this, we use raw data from 'Korea Innovation Survey 2008: Manufacturing Sector' conducted by STEPI, and also collect financial statement data from Korea Investors Service. As an analytical method for the empirical test, we utilize Probit model. Empirical results show that firm size and market concentration have positive relationship with firm's innovation activities. These support the ‘Schumpeterian hypothesis’. This would be the most distinguished feature of this study compared to previous literatures. Our study also shows that R&D personnel ratio, R&D intensity, and advertising intensity have positive effects on firms' innovation. Thus, we can say that R&D activities and consumer orientation are the main determinants of innovation. However, profit ratio and growth rate do not have any statistically significant effect on firms' innovation.
The new characteristic of Millennial High-Tech Media is breaking the existing standardized creative grammar. The destructive form of high-tech media is differently accommodated according to the consumer's tendency or characteristics. The purpose of this study is to explore guidelines for effective creative strategy creation of high-tech media. In consumer psychology, consumer innovation is a key factor in evaluating the creativeness of high-tech media. The results of finding out the effect of persuasive communication on consumer innovation and advertising creative type are as follows. Informative(image) creative type showed higher attitude toward advertisement, brand attitude, purchase intention, and prior intention to consumers with high innovation than consumers with low innovation.
This study investigates consumer experiences and word-of-mouth (WOM) intentions in luxury brand pop-up stores, including standalone and department store setups. Grounded in experience economy theory, this study examines the experiential elements based on the types of pop-up stores and the relationships among consumer experience, pop-up store image, and WOM intentions for each type. Data were collected from 300 visitors to luxury brand pop-up stores between January and July 2023 and analyzed using Smart PLS 4.0. The findings reveal several key insights. First, standalone pop-up stores offer educational and escapist experiences, while pop-ups within department stores have a single identified factor of consumer experience. Second, regardless of the store type, luxury pop-up store experiences significantly influence pop-up image perceptions. Third, luxury pop-up store image drives WOM intentions for both standalone and department store pop-ups. Notably, the unique image significantly impacts solely department store pop-ups and does not influence standalone pop-ups. Moreover, image perceptions in both pop-up store types do not significantly affect brand WOM intentions. Finally, WOM intentions for pop-up stores significantly influence WOM intentions for brands. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of consumer experiences in luxury pop-up stores, providing practical insights for stakeholders in the luxury brand industry to enhance pop-up store image perceptions and WOM intentions.

This study uses text mining compares and contrasts consumers' social media discourses on dietary related zero-waste movement before and after COVID-19. The results indicate that the amount of buzz on social networks for the zero- waste movement has been increasing after COVID-19. Additionally, the results of frequency analysis and topic modeling revealed that subjects associated with zero-waste movement were more diversified after COVID-19. Although the results of a sentiment analysis and word cloud visualization confirmed that consumers' positive responses toward the zero-waste have been increasing, they also revealed a need to educate and encourage those who are still not aware of the need for zero-waste. Finally, consumers mentioned only a small number of companies participating in zero-waste movement on SNS, indicating that the level of active involvement by such companies is much lower than that of consumers. Theoretical and educational implications as well as those for government policy-making are considered.
Purpose As the smartphone market arrived at its saturation, from world leading information and communications technologies (ICT) businesses to startups, companies are competing to develop innovative wearable device products and suitable contents. Utility, technology, design, price, and various killer contents development targeting every customer's need should be considered for a success in the wearable device market. Design/methodology/approach Prior studies on innovation technology of ICT field have mainly focused on the innovation diffusion theory, expectation confirmation theory, and technology acceptance model, this study suggested the innovation resistance factors of adopting the smart wearable devices based on the innovation resistance model and theory of perceived risk. The model comprises the following two characteristics factors: 1) innovation characteristics which include perceived relative advantages, perceived compatability, perceived complexity, and perceived risk, 2) consumer characteristics which include attitudes towards innovation and existing products (i.e., mobile devices and analog watches). This study developed an extended innovation resistance model to explain the intention to acceptance of wearable devices consumers and collected 284 online survey responses from the non-consumers of the wearable devices. Findings The findings of this study suggest that perceived relative advantage, perceived compatibility, perceived complexity, perceived risk, attitudes towards innovation and attitudes towards existing analog watches affected the innovation resistance which has negative influence on the intention to adoption of wearable devices.
