  • Purpose - The study verified the effects of consumers' knowledge perception upon word-of-mouth intention and purchase intention of consumers who were exposed to a lot of information, and examined consumer's behavior from multi-dimensional points of view. Research design, data, and methodology - The study conducted the test of difference between consumer's cognition on importance and satisfaction of HMR product by gap of HMR (Home Meal Replacement) product for IPA analysis. The consumer's reliability and words-of-mouth were measured by the questionnaire method with 4 questions according to Likert 7-point scale. Conversion into z-score removed the difference of variables. Results - The causal relation model for importance, satisfaction and gap, not relying upon multi-dimensional scaling and others, could construct causal relation model to give implications. Difference (d) of the products could lessen consumer's reliability to increase consumer's knowledge perception, word-of-mouth intention, knowledge perception, and purchase intention. Therefore, enterprises should make an effort to lessen consumers' complaint for the products and to elevate consumers' reliability. Enterprises also try to give consumers exact information and to promote purchase intention. Conclusions - Difference (d) of consumers' complaint and/or disappointment decreased consumers' reliability to increase knowledge perception. Enterprises should supply consumers with products according to their requirements to minimize the gap and to give them proper information.

  • This study examines the impact of consumer ethics on the CSR motive attributions and, the subsequent consumer perception of the firm's ethicality. Data of 512 adults were collected nationwide using a self-administered questionnaire online. Exploratory and confirmative factor analysis were employed to identify six underlying dimensions of consumer ethics, as follows: actively benefiting from illegal actions, passively benefiting from illegal actions, no harm/no foul, economic benefiting from illegal actions, intellectual property infringement, and pro-environmental behavior. In order to examine the relationships between consumer ethics, CSR motive attribution, and consumer perceived ethicality, a structural equation modeling test was conducted. The results demonstrated that actively benefiting from illegal actions, economic benefiting from illegal action, and pro-environmental behavior had impacts on CSR motive attributions such as strategy-driven attribution, value-driven attribution, and stakeholder-driven attribution. Consequently, strategy-driven attribution and value-driven attribution influenced the consumer perception of the firm's ethicality, whereas stakeholder-driven attribution did not. This study provides an understanding of the CSR attribution mechanism from the view of consumer ethics that are multi-dimensional. The ethical judgements on different types of consumer behavior lead to attributions of CSR motives and subsequently their perception of a firm's ethicality.

Questionnaire was collected from November 1, 2011 to November 12, 2011. The structural equation model was constructed to verify hypotheses and 562 useful data were analyzed using SPSS 17.0 and AMOS 19. The results of this study were as follows: First, consumer's relationship benefit perception was classified into economic benefit, psychological benefit, and informational benefit. Second, economic benefit and psychological benefit had a significantly positive effect on consumer's satisfaction and trust. Also both benefit dimensions showed a stronger effect on satisfaction than on trust. Third, informational benefit showed a significantly positive effect only on trust. Finally, consumer's satisfaction affected loyalty via trust more strongly than consumer's satisfaction affected loyalty directly. • The objective of this study is to propose an export strategy due to an analysis of USA and Japan consumer's perception and willingness-to-pay for flower tea. For that, we conducted a survey on the consumer's perception on flower tea compared with leaf tea such as green tea. We also analyzed the willingness to purchase and pay for it. The reasons of drinking of flower tea for USA consumer are 'flavor'-followed by 'taste', and for Japanese consumer 'relaxation'-followed by 'flavor' in order. Both of them consider 'quality', 'safety'- and 'origin' in order when they purchase flower tea. USA consumers have a willingness-to-pay of about 8.3% and Japanese consumers have a willingness-to-pay of about 29.1%. Based on those results, it is necessary to differentiate the process and marketing strategies for the export of flower tea.

  • This study was intended to investigate the influences of consumer's self-monitoring, pioneer brand awareness, types of endorsers on quality perception of "me-too" brands with a focus on outdoor brands. The design of this research was comprised of 2 types of self-monitoring(high vs. low), 2 types of pioneer brand awareness(high vs. low), 2 types of endorsers(professional expert vs. typical consumer). The study was carried out by using samples from residents of Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The number of subjects used in the final analysis totaled 243, with age of the consumers ranging grom 20's to 50's. The results of this study were as follows. Self-monitoring, pioneer brand awareness and types of endorsers had shown a statistically significant correlation effect on the quality perception of me-too brands. Especially, in the high-level self-monitoring group, the effect of pioneer brand awareness on quality perception of me-too brand was significant when typical consumer model was given. The result presents that using a professional expert model in the market rather than a typical consumer model can offset the quality perception of pioneer brand with low awareness.
