  • The paper's suggestion is Web based Tele-Medicine System will be open to public, low-budget featuring high quality of extensive medical services. It will keep a log of personal medical history to allow doctors to share information on patients and their families. This will result in the reduction of erroneous diagnosis and ensure successful e-business. On top of this, the new system will provide a solution for membership (client) management. It will combine online and offline medical services and be available 24 hours a day to anywhere users have Internet access, setting itself apart from the existing distance medical services system. Specially, The paper's suggestion is sharing medical treatment information between family members is suggested. This approach makes possible understanding physical constitution and environment between family members, and can result in bringing a faster treatment effect if some family member suffers from a similar disease.

  • Objective Korean medicine Data Center (KDC) has established large-scale biological and clinical data based on Korean medicine to demonstrate and validate its theory. The aim of this study was to develop KDC teaching dataset and user guideline to improve utilization of the KDC. Method KDC teaching dataset were selected using stratified random sampling according to the Sasang constitution (SC). This dataset included 72 variables of 500 sample subjects. The user guideline described how to conducted eight statistical analysis methods using the teaching dataset. Results The KDC teaching dataset was sampled from 200(40%) Taeeumin, 125(25%) Soeumin, and 175(35%) Soyanain. It was consisted of questionnaire (basic, habit, disease, symptom), physical exam (body measurement, blood pressure), blood exam, and expert' SC diagnosis. The usage guidelines provided instruction for users to perform several statistical analysis step by step with KDC teaching dataset. Conclusion We hope that our results will contribute to enhancing KDC utilization and understanding.

  • Objectives : We search the contents about Bi disease in Huang Di Nei Jing(黃帝內經), to analyze the significance of Bi disease, etiopathogenisis and pathogenesis of Bi disease, treatment of Bi disease. Methods : We find that the key feature of Bi disease is joint pain induced by impatency of Qi and blood. Exterior and interior etiological factors are involved in, such as exogenous evil of cold and dampness, emotional disorders, intemperance of taking food, dysfunction of yingqi and weiqi, strong or weak constitution, etc. Results : The important pathogenesis are invaded by exogenous evil because of deficiency, disharmony of yingqi and weiqi and disharmony of five viscera. The key points of treatments are the individual concerned therapy and climate concerned therapy, selecting the acupoint according to the differentiation of symptoms and signs. Conclusions : The combined therapy should be used such as acupuncture and moxibustion, hot application of medicine, massage, Daoyin, outside apply, etc. These supply the theory foundation for etiological factor, pathogenesis, syndrome and treatment, and to direct the diagnosis and treatment of Bi disease later generations.

  • 1. Objectives The purpose of this research is to find out the Sasang Constitutional difference in Heart Rate Variability. 2. Methods We enrolled 8498 workers who tested for Heart Rate Variability(HRV) from September 1, 2005 to November 28, 2005 except works whose body constitusions were undetermined according to QSCCII. 3. Results & Conclusions The result of HRV of autonomic activity and stress resistance were arranged in the order of Soeumin, Soyangin and Taeumin. On the other hand Stress Index and Fatigue Index were arranged in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin and Soeumin. But autonomic balance was no significance relationship between Sasang Constitutions. This research has shown that there is a statistical significance between the HRV and Sasang Constitutions. The findings indicated that HRV could be useful mean to make a diagnosis of Sasang Constitution or apprehended Constitutional differences.

Objectives: The purpose of this case is to report that a Tae-eumin patient diagnosed as drug-induced liver injury (DILI) caused by Galgeunhaegi-tang (Gegenjieji-tang) treated with Taeumjowe-tang reduced ephedra to 2g (Taiyintiaowei-tang) and then liver function test Results: improved. 2. Methods: We diagnosed him as Tae-eumin Exterior cold disease induced from the esophagus affected by cold. We made him stop taking Galgeunhaegi-tang (Gegenjieji-tang) and take Taeumjowe-tang reduced ephedra to 2g. (Taiyintiaowei-tang) 3. Results: After our treatment, the symptom and the liver function test Results: improved. 4. Conclusions: The wrong diagnosis of constitution and pathological syndromes can be caused drug-induced liver injury. Taeumjowe-tang reduced ephedra to 2g (Taiyintiaowei-tang) may have an effect on treatment of drug-induced liver injury of Tae- eumin.

  • Objectives In order to the review of the Yoon Gil-Young's theory on the "differentiation of syndromes", we studied on the his method and system of classification on the "differentiation of syndromes". Methods We reviewed on "The Clinical Formula Science Traditional Korean Medicine 東醫臨床方劑學", "A study on the Methodology of Traditional Korean Medicine 東醫學의 方法論硏究" "The theory of SaSang Constitution Medicine 四象體質醫學論". From a connected standpoint with the basic theory and clinical medicine, considered on the Yoon Gil-Young's theory of "differentiation of syndromes". Results Yoon Gil-Young's theory of differentiation of syndromes and treatment was widespread so much that he studied on the learning field of Traditional Korean Mediciine and ingenious as well. The main principles of differentiation of syndromes was summarized the three representative syndrome-complexes; BON-HER(original deficiency syndrome), BON-HAN(orginal cold excess syndrome), BON-YEOL(original heat excess syndrome). And also the three representative syndrome-complexes was previously carried out the details of differentiation of syndromes and assigned represent prescription one by one. Conclusions As the results, Yoon Gil-Young insisted the system of differentiation of syndromes closely connecting with Traditional Korean Medical physiology, pathology, diagnosis and prescriptions. And therefore he was a frontier of the field of Traditional Korean Medicine.

  • Herbal medicine has been used in the Eastern world for 2,000 years, and is beneficial for numerous diseases. There have been reports pertaining to the safety of herbal medicine, but there have been few reports about herbal medicine induced liver injury in Eastern or Western medicine. Most are descriptions of hepatotoxicity of certain toxic herbs. We experienced one case of drug induced liver injury in the treatment of cerebral infarction with Chungsim Yeonja-tang. Although the patient had not used medication and Chungsim Yeonja-tang has no toxic herbs in it. patient's ALP, AST, ALT, GGT was twice elevated after 20 days on medication. This was diagnosed as drug induced liver injury, possibly due to incorrect diagnosis of Sasang constitution. So no herbal medicine was given for seven days. Then Gagam Saeng Gan-tang was given. Gagam Saeng Gan-tang have been used to treat hepatic disease and have been known to have beneficial effects. After 25 days on medication, the clinical symptoms and liver function improved. So, this case is presented to bring more attention to the toxicity of herbal medicines.

  • 1. Objectives : The aim of the present study was to describe the Korea Constitutional Multicenter Bank (KCMB), which was various clinical data bank for scientific advancement of constitutional diagnosis and treatment. 2. Methods and Results : The KCMB is based on the 28 multi-institute cooperative clinical research networks including domestic and international institute. Since the KCMB was founded in 2006, data have been accumulated from 10,412 subjects. The KCMB consists of three parts: The clinical constitutional data, the measurement data, and the biological data. The method of data entry is via web based electronic Case Report From (eCRF). The eCRF has been developed and programed to ensure the efficient entry of data. We also developed coding manual, ongoing quality control assessment to obtain high-quality data. 3. Conclusions : The KCMB with various data contribute to providing the scientification of Sasang Constitutional Medicine.
