Sliding Mode Control of a New Wind-Based Isolated Three-Phase Induction Generator System with Constant Frequency and Adjustable Output Voltage

  • This paper presents a new stand-alone wind-based induction generator system with constant frequency and adjustable output voltage. The proposed generator consists of a six-phase cage-rotor induction machine with two separate three-phase balanced stator windings and a three-phase space vector pulse width modulation inverter that operates as a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM). The first stator winding is fed by the STATCOM and used to excite the machine while the second stator winding is connected to the generator external load. The main frequency of the STATCOM is determined to be constant and equal to the load-requested frequency. The generator output frequency is independent of the load power demand and its prime mover speed because the frequency of the induced emf in the second stator winding is the same as this constant frequency. A sliding mode control (SMC) is developed to regulate the generator output voltage. A second SMC is used to force the zero active power exchanged between the machine and the STATCOM. Some simulation and experimental results are presented to prove the validity and effectiveness of the proposed generator system.

  • Random Telegraph Signal(RTS)에 의한 1/f 잡음이 CMOS Ring Oscillator의 Phase Noise와 Jitter에 미치는 영향을 조사한다. 7단 Ring Oscillator의 각 노드에 병렬 연결된 10개의 Piece-Wise-Linear 전류원이 RTS 신호를 모델링 한다. RTS 전류원의 진폭과 Time Constant를 변화시키면서 Ring Oscillator 출력의 FFT 및 전력 스팩트럼 밀도, Jitter를 관찰한다. RTS 전류원의 진폭은 Phase Noise의 폭을 증가시키고 결과적으로 Jitter의 크기도 증가 시키는 것이 확인 되었다. 그리고 RTS Time Constant가 짧아질수록 출력 신호의 FFT peak의 폭이 커지고 Cycle to Cycle Jitter 값이 증가하였다.

  • 최근 콘크리트 구조물의 유지보수 문제가 대두되면서 구조물에 발생하는 균열을 스스로 치유하는 자기치유 기술이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 현재 자기치유 콘크리트의 치유 성능 평가에 투수시험이 널리 사용되지만, 이와 관련된 표준화된 방법이 없어 시험결과의 비교에 어려움이 있다. 또한 콘크리트의 자기치유 성능은 초기 균열폭에 큰 영향을 받는데, 콘크리트의 균열폭 측정을 위한 표준화된 방법도 없는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정수위 투수시험 장치를 이용하여 수두차와 균열폭이 유출수량에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한 투수 실험 결과의 회귀 분석을 통해 유출수량과 초기 균열폭의 상관관계식을 제안하였으며, 제안된 식을 이용하여 예측한 모르타르 시편의 균열폭이 광학현미경을 이용하여 측정한 실제 균열폭과 잘 일치하는 결과를 얻었다.

외부식 다단형 슬로트 후드의 효율 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Ventilation Efficiency of Multi-Stage Slot Hood)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate ventilation efficiency of 4-stage slot hood by variation of slot width, flow rate, hood size and baffle size. The slot velocity, control velocity and plenum velocity were related to slot width and the distance between source of contamination and hood. The results obtained from laboratory experiment for local exhaust ventilation systems were as follows ; 1. When slot widths were constant(equally changed) and the velocity was 6-10 m/s, the slot velocity from 1st slot to 4th slot gradually decreased. As the slot width-to-slot length ratio(WLR) decreased, the slot velocity of each stage increased. But if WLR value was less than 0.04, the slot velocity decreased. 2. When slot velocity exceeded 10 m/s with constant slot widths, the slot velocity of each stage was uniform. 3. When the slot velocity was uniform within 10 m/s and the first slot width was 14-20 mm, the slot width ratio between 1st slot and each of three other slots were 1, 1.25, 1.5 and 3.0, respectively. 4. The slot and plenum velocity were uniform when exhaust flow rate changed from 14 to $19m^3/min$ and there were no hood splitter vanes. 5. When the slot velocity at each stage was uniform, the control velocity at site 30 cm away from hood No.2 increased from 0.15-0.30 to 0.25-0.45 m/s and the control distance from 20 to 30 cm(about 1.5 times).

Effect of Temperature on the Growth of the Water Strider, Gerris paludum insularis (Gerridae, Heteroptera)

  • The water strider, Gerris paludum insularis, was reared in a growth cabinet at two constant temperatures and ${\approx}20^{\circ}C$ under a 16:8 (L:D) photoperiod. Differences in head width among three temperatures of ${\approx}20^{\circ}C,\;25^{\circ}C\;and\;30^{\circ}C$ in G. paludum insularis, were compared. Temperature affected growth of head width of G. paludum insularis. There were highly significant differences among head width for three temperature regimes and the immature stages. It was found that head width is greater in $30^{\circ}C$ than $25^{\circ}C\;and\;{\approx}20^{\circ}C$. The growth quantity of the head width in ${\approx}20^{\circ}C$ shows the slowest increase, and $25^{\circ}C\;and\;30^{\circ}C$ were gradually increased in that order. The maximum ratio of growth quantity by each stage is in the first instar in all regimes. The growth rates of all regimes show an increase pattern.

충돌판에 의한 원판형 분무의 공간분포에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Study on the Distribution of Cylindrical Disk Spray by a Impinging Disk)

  • The goal of this study is to provide fundamental information on the design of a new diesel injector system. The cylindrical disk spray was made by an impinging disk insited below the exit of air-assist atomizor. The disintegration processes on a twin-fluid atomization by air-assist atomizor were investigated. Liquid jet was disintegrated at the condition that wavelength was equal and longer than the circumference of the liquid jet, .lambda. .geq. .pi.do. However, the wavelength and the diameter of the liquid jet were decreased according to the increasing of air velocity. The relative density distribution of droplets and pattern of spray by impinging disk were investigated with a C-CCD. Optimum design conditions for cylindrical disk spray were also achieved. The pattern of cylindrical spray can classified according to the size of the disk and the distance from the nozzle tip to the disk. When the space of the disk and the nozzle tip was narrow and the diameter of the disk was larger than that of the air orifice of the nozzle exit, the good distribution of spray could be achieved. When the air flowrate was constant, the spray width was decreased according to the increasing of the liquid flowrate. When the liquid flowrate was constant, the spray width was decreased according to the increasing of the air flowrate.

  • The shape and width of fuzzy membership function has an effect on performance of fuzzy controller. In this paper, fuzzy controller is proposed to improve the control performance of fuzzy controller. It has two fuzzy inference engine. The one is typical fuzzy inference engine, the other is proposed to infer optimal width of membership function in fuzzy controller from plant constant (K,T,L). To show the effectiveness of this fuzzy controller with double fuzzy inference engine, it is applied to plant (dead time + 1st order delay) with various plant constant.

편백(Chamaecyparis obtusa E.) 수간내에서의 결정상태의 변이성 (Variation of Crystalline State in a Stem of Chamaecyparis obtusa E.)

  • Radial variation of crystalline state in a stem of Chamaecyparis obtusa E. was examined by x-ray diffraction analyses. Relative crystallinity and degree of crystallite orientation showed significant differences between juvenile and adult wood. That is, Relative crystallinity increased with increasing the age from pith to about 20th annual ring, after which it reached a more or less constant value. On the other hand, degree of crystallite orientation decreased outward from pith to about 10 years and presented almost a constant value thereafter. Crystal width by Scherrer's equation did not show any significant differences between juvenile and adult wood. Therefore, it was considered that crystallinity index and degree of crystallite orientation by x-ray diffraction method could be used for evaluating wood quality.

자기저항 헤드용 MR/TbCo 박막의 자기교환 결합 (Magnetic Exchange Coupling at The Interface of MR/TbCo Thin Films)

  • MR/TbCo 박막 계면의 자기교환 결합의 특성을 시뮬레이션 하기 위해서 박막내에 존재 하는 자기 에너지를 최소화 하여 자화의 방향을 구하였다. 수치해석 방법으로는 Newton법과 Gauss-Seidel 방법이 이용되었다. TbCo의 이방성 상수에 비례적으로 자기 이력곡선의 폭이 변하고, TbCo 천이영역의 두께가 얇을수록 자기이력곡선이 벌어지지 않았다. 특히 TbCo 천이영역의 두께가 $400\;\AA$ 일때 단일 곡선(보자력 10 Oe 이하)을 보였다. 또한 계면 교환 결합상수가 작을수록 천이영역의 두께가 얇을 때와 비슷한 곡선을 보였고, 완전히 결합된 상태의 1/100 정도 일때, 단일 곡선을 보였다. 제작한 박막의 자기이력곡선과 비교하여 계면교환 결합상수를 추정할 수 있었다.

Shear Layer and Wave Structure Over Partially Spanning Cavities

  • Study of the wave structure and shear layer in the vicinity of a wall mounted cavity is done by time averaged colour schlieren and time resolved instantaneous shadowgraph technique in an M=1.7 flowfield. Effect of change of cavity width on flow structure is investigated by using constant length to depth (L/D) ratio cavity models with varying length to width (L/W) ratio of 0.83 to 4. The time averaged shock wave structure was observed to change with change in cavity width. Dependence of the shock angle at the leading edge on the shear layer width is also evident from the images obtained. Unsteadiness in the flow field in terms of shear layer dynamics and quasi steady nature of shock waves was evident from the images obtained during instantaneous shadowgraph experiments. Apart from the leading and trailing edge shocks, several other waves and flow features were observed. These flow features and the associated physical phenomena are discussed in details and presented in the paper.
