Evaluating the operational efficiency of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs) is important to understand charging network evolution and the charging behavior of electric vehicle users. However, aggregation of efficiency performance metrics poses a significant challenge to practitioners and researchers. In general, the operational efficiency of EVCSs can be measured as a complicated function of various factors with multiple criteria. Such a complex aspect of managing EVCSs becomes one of the challenging issues to measure their operational efficiency. Considering the difficulty in the efficiency measurement, this paper suggests a way to measure the operational efficiency of EVCSs based on data envelopment analysis (DEA). The DEA model is formulated as constant returns of output-oriented model with five types of inputs, four of them are the numbers of floating population and nearby charging stations, distance of nearby charging stations and traffic volume as desirable inputs and the other is the traffic speed in congestion as undesirable one. Meanwhile, the output is given by the charging frequency of EVCSs in a day. Using real-world data obtained from reliable sources, we suggest operational efficiencies of EVCSs in Seoul and discuss implications on the development of electric vehicle charging network. The result of efficiency measurement shows that most of EVCSs in Seoul are inefficient, while some districts (Nowon-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Dongjak-gu, Songpa-gu, Guro-gu) have relatively more efficient EVCSs than the others.
In this study, a simulation model of the harmonic injection sensorless control technique is proposed. This model is suitable for the sensorless technique of low-speed area operation of motors. The motor of this model is permanent magnet motor. For sensorless control, 1kHz square wave is injected. The change in motor constant according to rotor position is realized by having different d-q inductance values. Sensorless techniques is implemented through functions of Simulink and models provided by Simulink libraries. It is shown that the harmonic component contained in the current is extracted using a filter, and the angle of the permanent magnet of the motor is detected using the extracted waveform. The validity of the simulation model is demonstrated through the estimated motor angle waveform and the related waveforms of the motor control applied to the 1kW permanent magnet motor.
Ship's maneuverability is very important factor in safe ship handling and economical ship operation. Steering characteristics are consisted of course stability and maneuverability. Today in many advanced ship-building countries, they study ship's course stability, using model ship tests, such as straight line tests, rotating arm tests and Planar Motion Mechanism (PMM) etc., in tow in tanks. It is the purpose of this paper to provide ship's handlers with better understanding of steering characteristics and to help them in safe controlling and manevering . In this paper, the author simulated response of various vessels, running straight course with constant speed, and they are disturbed by small external disturbance of one degree yaw angle with no angular velocity . The author used the hydrodynamic derivtives resulted at tests of Davidson's laboratory in Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, U.S.A. Course stability was evaluated and analyzed in various respects, such as block coefficient, ratio of ship's length to beam, draft and rudder area ratio etc. The obtained results are as follows : (1) The ship's course stability is affected by magnitude of block coefficient greatly. In case that the block coefficient is more than 0.7, the deviation varies at nearly same rate but the requistite time to reach the steady course is different. (2) The ship's course stability is affected by magnitude of L/B. When the dimensionless time reaches about 3, the deviation and requisite time to reach the steady course are influenced nearly same. After the dimensionless time is about 3, they change on invariable ratio. (3) The effect to course stability by L/T and RA' can be neglected. (4) The reason why thy VLCC and container feeder vessel are unstable on their course is that their block coefficient is generally more than 0.8 and the ratio of ship's length to beam is about 6.0.

The compensation algorithm for localization using the least-squires method in NLOS(Non Line of Sight) environment is suggested and the performance of the algorithm is analyzed in this paper. In order to improve the localization correction rate of the moving node, 1) the distance value of the moving node that is moving as an constant speed is measured by SDS-TWR(Symmetric Double-Sided Two-Way Ranging); 2) the location of the moving node is measured using the triangulation scheme; 3) the location of the moving node measured in 2) is compensated using the least-squares method. By the experiments in NLOS environment, it is confirmed that the average localization error rates are measured to ${\pm}1m$, ${\pm}0.2m$ and ${\pm}0.1m$ by the triangulation scheme, the Kalman filter and the least-squires method respectively. As a result, we can see that the localization error rate of the suggested algorithm is higher than that of the triangulation as average 86.0% and the Kalman filter as average 16.0% respectively.

In this paper, we present an auto-range fast bilateral filter (FBF) for high-dynamic-range (HDR) images, which increases computation speed by using adaptive standard deviations for range filter (RF) of FBF in iCAM06. Many images that cover the entire dynamic range of the scene with different exposure times are fused into one High Dynamic Range (HDR) image. The representative algorithm for HDR image rendering is iCAM06, which is based on the iCAM framework, such as the local white point adaptation, chromatic adaptation, and the image processing transform (IPT) uniform color space. FBF in iCAM06 uses constant standard deviation in RF. So, it causes unnecessary FBF computation in high stimulus range with broad and low distribution. To solve this problem, the low stimulus image and high stimulus image of CIE tri-stimulus values (XYZ) divided by the threshold are respectively processed by adaptive standard deviation based on its histogram distribution. Experiment results show that the proposed method reduces computation time than the previous FBF.
With the development of industry, the qualitical advancement of power is needed. Since it is placed in the end step of power system, the fault at the distribution system causes some users blackout directly. So if the fault occurs, quick restoration is very important subject and, for the reason, induction of the distribution automation system is now being progressed briskly. For the quick restoration of the faulted distribution system, the load shedding of the blackout-area must be followed, and the other problems like the shedded load, faulted voltage and the rest may cause other accident. Accordingly load shedding must be based on the precise calculation technique during the distribution system load flow(dist flow) calculation. In these days because of its superior convergence characteristic the Newton-Raphson method is most widely used. The number of buses in the distribution system amounts to thousands, and if the fault occurs at the distribution system, the speed for the dist flow calculation is to be improved to apply to the On-Line system. However, Newton-Raphson method takes much time relatively because it must calculate the Jacobian matrix and inverse matrix at every iteration, and in the case of huge load, the equation is hard to converge. In this thesis. matrix equation is used to make algebraical expression and then to solve load flow equation and to modify above defects. Then the complex matrix is divided into real part and imaginary part to keep sparcity. As a result time needed for calculation diminished. Application of mentioned algorithm to 302 bus, 700 bus, 1004 bus system led to almost identical result got by Newton-Raphson method and showed constant convergence characteristic. The effect of time reduction showed 88.2%, 86.4%, 85.1% at each case of 302 bus, 700 bus system 86.4%, and 1004 bus system.

For the large deformation of shear walls under vertical and horizontal loads, there are difficulties in obtaining accurate simulation results using the response analysis method, even with fine mesh elements. Furthermore, concrete material nonlinearity, stiffness degradation, concrete cracking and crushing, and steel bar damage may occur during the large deformation of reinforced concrete (RC) shear walls. Matrix operations that are involved in nonlinear analysis using the traditional finite-element method (FEM) may also result in flaws, and may thus lead to serious errors. To solve these problems, a planar four-node element was developed based on vector mechanics. Owing to particle-based formulation along the path element, the method does not require repeated constructions of a global stiffness matrix for the nonlinear behavior of the structure. The nonlinear concrete constitutive model and bilinear steel material model are integrated with the developed element, to ensure that large deformation and damage behavior can be addressed. For verification, simulation analyses were performed to obtain experimental results on an RC shear wall subjected to a monotonically increasing lateral load with a constant vertical load. To appropriately evaluate the parameters, investigations were conducted on the loading speed, meshing dimension, and the damping factor, because vector mechanics is based on the equation of motion. The static problem was then verified to obtain a stable solution by employing a balanced equation of motion. Using the parameters obtained, the simulated pushover response, including the bearing capacity, deformation ability, curvature development, and energy dissipation, were found to be in accordance with the experimental observation. This study demonstrated the potential of the developed planar element for simulating the entire process of large deformation and damage behavior in RC shear walls.

Inertia friction welding, a relatively recent innovation in the art of joining materials, is a forge-welding process that releases kinetic energy stored in the flywheel as frictional heat when two parts are rubbed together under the right conditions. In a comparatively short time, the process has become a reliable method for joining ferrous, and dissimilar metals. The process is based on thrusting one part, attached to a flywheel and rotating at a relatively high speed, against a stationary part. The contacting surfaces, heated to plastic temperatures, are forged together to produce a reliable, high-strength weld. Welds are made with little or no workpiece preparation and without filler metal or fluxes. However, In order to obtain a good weld, the determination of the optimum weld parameters is an important problem. Especially, because the amount of the flywheel mass will be determined according to the initial rotating velocity values at the constant thrust load, the initial rotating velocity is an important factor to affect a weld character of the inertia-welded IN713C-SAE8630, which is used for the wheel-shafts of turbine rotors or turbochargers, exhausting valves, etc. In this paper, the effects of initial rotational velocity on a weld character of inertia-welded IN713C-SAE8630 was studied through considerations of weld parameters determination, micro-structural observations and tensile tests. The results are as the following: 1) As initial rotating velocity was reduced to 267 FPM, cracks and carbide stringers were completely eliminated in the micro-structure of welded zone. 2) As initial rotating velocity was reduced and flywheel mass was increased correspondingly, the maximum welding temperatures were decreased and the plastic working in the weld zone was increased. 3) As initial rotating velocity was progressively decreased and carbides were decreased, the tensile strengths were increased. 4) And also the fracture location moved out of the weld zone and the tensile tests produced, the failures only in the cast superalloy IN713C which do not extend into the weld area. 5) The proper initial rotating velocity could be determined as about 250 thru 350 FPM for the better weld character.
Objective: The ride qualities of the six passenger cars were evaluated in 4 subjects on the highway and uneven road. The relation between vibration with driving velocity and driving posture were also investigated separately. Background: Ride comfort plays an important role in the vehicle design. Vibration is the one of the principal components associated with ride comfort. Method: The acceleration of the foot, hip and back were measured using B&K accelerometers in this study. The velocity of the passenger cars was maintained at a constant speed of 80km/h on the highway and 40km/h on the uneven road. For evaluating the effects of driving velocity and driving posture on vehicle's vibration level, separate experiments were performed on the highway with 5 different vehicle speeds and 5 different backrest angles, respectively. Results: The overall ride value of the luxury car showed the best result while the smaller car showed the worst value on the highway. On the uneven road the overall ride value level was increased 75~98%. All the vehicles had the SEAT value less than 1. Faster the velocity lowers the SEAT value. The ride quality in terms of vibration gets worst when the backrest angle increased. Conclusion: The smaller car had a first mode at the higher frequency and showed higher vibration level. SEAT value was mostly affected by the seat property not by vehicle. We ranked the luxury car seat had a best vibration reduction quality than others based on SEAT values. When the driving velocity increased, the overall ride values were increased proportionally and the SEAT values were somewhat decreased. Application: Evaluation of whole-body vibration in the passenger car.

Conventional acoustic echo cancelers using ES(Exponentially weighted Stepsize) algorithm have simple operational configuration and fast convergence speed batter then NLMS algorithm, but they are very weak in external noise because ES algorithm updates filter taps using an average energy reduction rate of room impulse response in specific acoustical condition. So, a new configuration of acoustic echo canceler with stepsize generator and selector is proposed in this thesis. The proposed stepsize generator and selector improve conventional acoustic echo canceler's weakness in external noise and improve the system robustness. The stepsize generator generates additional stepsize value using moving averager, which is the residual noise energy of error signal multiplied by constant ${\gamma}$. The stepsize selector selects the stepsize value that has better performance in an acoustic echo canceler using a coefficient decision factor ${\Delta}_{differ}$ The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm reduces residual error by 5[dB] to 10[dB], improves misadjustment regardless of external noise's SNR.
