Control Characteristics of Speed Using Time Constant on the AC Servo Motor (교류서보모터의 시정수에 의한 속도 제어특성)

  • This paper describes the controller for the improving speed control the AC servo motor. The microprocessor provides an output to the difference in command. The servo system improves the characteristics of speed control. When the motor is running at the same speed as set by the reference signal, the speed encoder also provides a signal of the same frequency. Thus, the microprocessor controlled digital techniques enable to realize the flexible performance and control which was possible with time constant. We can know that optimal speed of machining center is 75msec in 30000mm/min and actually, 75msec is using on machining center. Finally experimental results prove excellent performance of this control system. This can be reduced error with more exact measure of actual speed. The system can be adaptable to CNC machine.

  • This paper presents a design of a 30kW 250V/530V bidirectional DC-DC converter to be used in an electrical car. A detailed explanation of the design is given. The system uses two phase shifted half bridge (boost and buck) topologies to reduce the ripple current in the output capacitor. The converter has an efficiency of 95% at nominal power. It works as a constant voltage in one direction and as a constant current in the other to charge the batteries. Simulations and measurement are done at high power to test the efficiency.

  • A source meter is a basic instrument to perform a measurement of DC characteristic of semiconductor devices. the source meter can be used as variable voltage source, variable current source, voltage meter, or current meter. The accuracy of the low current measurement can be improved with the compensation of leakage current and charge and discharge current. In the low current measurement, the RC time constant is extremely big, so the measurement speed is very low. In this thesis, the analysis of the behavior of the measurement current according to the RC time constant and output capacitance and the method to accelerate the measurement speed.

  • A resonant type voltage source and power device and a control method using Pulse Density Modulation(PDM) power control and Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) voltage control for Ozone Generator are described. For the stability of discharge in the generating tube, it is desirable that the peak apply voltage is constant. The PDM power control is employed for sustaining the voltage constant at any generating tube input power. Moreover, to avoid the influence of input AC voltage fluctuation etc., PWM voltage control with generating tube peak voltage feedback is used. Both functions were confirmed by the experiment with 6.5[kHz], 1.8[kW] inverter and generating tube. The effect of input synchronous PDM method for input current stabilizing is confirmed also.

  • This paper deals with the control strategy for the constant voltage, constant frequency (CVCF) generation of doubly -fed induction generator. Since induction machine is a nonlinear and multivariable one, the influential factors for CVCF generation of induction generator are the magnitude of output voltage, load current and its power factor, slip of the machine, etc. To get appropriate control scheme and study the effect of its parameters, the control equation of induction machine is derived and tested. The simulation and test results show that suggested equation and control system are very useful strategy for the CVCF control of induction generator.

  • When actual IPMSM is driving, it is difficult to figure out the correct current during the current control period due to the operation speed limit of digital signal processing. Therefore, in order to control IPMSM for electric vehicle efficiently, we should design 2D Look-up Table to find out optimal current reference corresponding to speed and torque of IPMSM. This paper explains the design method of 2D Look-up Table for optimal current control of constant torque area and constant output area of IPMSM for electric vehicle. Finally, experimental results are presented to verify the reliability of 2D Look-up Table.

  • In this paper, it is proposed to constant power control of solar power system. The solar power system has disadvantage that low power density and variable power output. Proposed strategy is controled by DC/DC converter using phase shift PWM and I-PD type control applying type 1 digital system. The validity of proposed control strategy is verified from simulations results using PSIM.

  • In order to measure non-intrusively velocity profile in liquid metal flow, a modified electromagnetic flowmeter was designed, which was based on electromagnetic tomography technique. Under the assumption that flow is fully-developed, axisymmetric and rectilinear, the velocity profile was reconstructed after the flowmeter equation, the first kind of Fredholm integration equation, was linearized. In reconstruction process Tikhonov regularization method with regularization parameter was used. The reconstructed velocity profile had the nearly same as turbulent flow profile which was approximately represented as log law. In addition, flowmeter output for a fixed magnet rotation angle was linearly proportional to flow rate. When magnet rotation angle was $54^{\circ}$, axisymmetric weight function was nearly uniform so that the flowmeter gives a constant signal for any fully-developed, axisymmetric and rectilinear profile with a constant flow rate.

Imaging of Steel Bars Embedded inside Mortar Specimens for Nondestructive Testing

  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) with 1 GHz antenna has been used to locate a steel bar embedded inside laboratory-prepared mortar specimens. Four mortar specimens are made with the dimensions of 100 cm (length) x 100 cm (width) x 14 cm (depth). One specimen had no bars and the other three specimens had a Dl9 steel bar at 4, 6. and 8 cm depth. As a part of the experimental work, the dielectric constants of mortar specimens are measured during curing. As the curing time increased. the dielectric constant decreased with decreasing moisture content inside the specimen. The steel bar embedded inside mortar specimens has been successfully identified in all three cases. The results using signal processing scheme developed in this study significantly improved the output of a commercially available radar system.

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy logic controlled new topology of high voltage gain zero voltage switching (ZVS) asymmetrical PWM full-bridge DC-DC boost converter for constant load and high power applications. The APWM full-bridge stage provides high voltage gain and soft-switching characteristics increase the efficiency and reduce the switching losses. Fuzzy logic controller (FLC) improves the performance and dynamic characteristics of the proposed converter. A comparison with a classical proportional-integral (PI) controller demonstrates the high performances of the proposed technique in terms of effective output voltage regulation under different operating conditions. Simulation is done by integrating two different simulation platforms $PSIM^{(R)}$ and $Matlab^{(R)}/Simulink^{(R)}$ by using SimCoupler tool of $PSIM^{(R)}$. Experimental results using 120W load have been provided to validate the results.
