  • It is strongly requested to reduce fuel consumption because of high oil price and exhaust gases of road vehicles for environmental preservation. To solve these problems, several types of hybrid vehicles have been developed. Among them, flywheel hybrid vehicle using variable displacement pump/motor was already proposed as one of the feasible hybrid systems in place of hybrid vehicle by the conventional storage battery. The proposed flywheel hybrid vehicle is to keep constant pressure of high pressure line by the control of swash plate angle of flywheel pump/motor as pressure compensator. The efficiency of the overall system depends severely on the efficiency of hydraulic pump/motor in the energy saving hydraulic control system by simulation. According to the control methods of swash plate angle of piston pump/motor, there remain several problems to be solved. In this paper, experimental setup for energy saving is fabricated and the efficiency of energy saving is investigated by experiments with respect to various experimental conditions.

A Novel Single Phase Synchronous Reference Frame Phase-Locked Loop with a Constant Zero Orthogonal Component

  • A novel single phase Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) is proposed in this paper to accurately and rapidly estimate the instantaneous phase angle of a grid. A conjugate rotating vector pair is proposed and defined to synthesize the single phase signal in the stationary reference frame. With this concept, the proposed PLL innovatively sets one phase input of the PARK transformation to a constant zero. By means of a proper cancellation, a zero steady state phase angle estimation error can be achieved, even under magnitude and frequency variations. The proposed PLL structure is presented together with guidelines for parameters adjustment. The performance of the proposed PLL is verified by comprehensive experiments. Satisfactory phase angle estimation can be achieved within one input signal cycle, and the estimation error can be totally eliminated in four input cycles for the most severe conditions.

CONTACT PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION OF RADIAL TIRE IN MOTION WITH CAMBER ANGLE

  • Theoretical and experimental study is conducted on the contact pressure distribution of a radial tire in motion under various camber angles. Tire construction is modelled by a spring bedded elastic ring, consisted of sidewall springs and a composite belt ring. The contact area is assumed to be a trapezoidal shape varying with camber angles and weighted load. The basic equation in a quasi-static form is derived for the deformation of a running belt with a constant velocity by the aid of Lagrange-Euler transformation. Galerkin's method and stepwise calculation are applied for solving the basic equation and the mechanical boundary condition along both sides of the contact belt part subjected to shearing forces transmitted from the sidewall spring. Experimental results on the contact pressure, measured by pressure sensors embedded in the surface of the drum tester, correspond well with the calculated ones for the test tire under various camber angles, running velocities and weighted loads. These results indicate that a buckling phenomenon of the contact belt in the widthwise direction occurs due to the effect of camber angle.

  • 본 논문에서는 다수의 무인항공기가 저속으로 이동하는 지상 목표물을 추적하기 위한 협력제어 기법을 제안한다. 유도명령을 생성하기 위하여 르야프노프 안정성 이론을 이용한 벡터필드를 설계한다. 목표물과 일정한 거리를 유지하며 선회하기 위한 롤각 명령을 생성한다. 이와 동시에 목표물에 대한 항공기의 위상각을 조절하기 위한 속도 명령과 기수각 명령을 생성하고, 항공기 간 충돌방지를 고려한 기법을 제시한다. 다수의 무인항공기를 이용한 수치 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 제안된 제어기법의 성능을 검증하였다.

Three-Dimensional Numerical Analysis for Detonation Propagating in Circular Tube

  • Spinning detonations propagating in a circular tube were numerically investigated with a one-step irreversible reaction model governed by Arrhenius kinetics. The time evolution of the simulation results was utilized to reveal the propagation mechanism of single-headed spinning detonation. The track angle of soot record on the tube wall was numerically reproduced with various levels of activation energy, and the simulated unique angle was the same as that of the previous reports. The maximum pressure histories of the shock front on the tube wall showed stable and unstable pitch modes for the lower and higher activation energies, respectively. The shock front shapes and the pressure profiles on the tube wall clarified the mechanisms of two modes. The maximum pressure history in the stable pitch remained nearly constant, and the single Mach leg existing on the shock front rotated at a constant speed. The high and low frequency pressure oscillations appeared in the unstable pitch due to the generation and decay of complex Mach interaction on the shock front shape. The high frequency oscillation was self-induced because the intensity of the transverse wave was changed during propagation in one cycle. The high frequency behavior was not always the same for each cycle, and therefore the low frequency oscillation was also induced in the pressure history.

콜로이드 용액의 막여과에서 자연대류 불안정 흐름의 막오염 저감 효과 해석: 막힘여과 모델의 적용 (Analysis of Membrane Fouling Reduction by Natural Convection Instability Flow in Membrane Filtration of Colloidal Solution: Application of Blocking Filtration Model)

  • 알루미나 콜로이드 용액의 막여과에서 막모듈의 중력에 대한 경사각 변화로 유발된 자연대류 불안정 흐름(natural convection instability flow, NCIF)의 콜로이드 물질의 막오염 제어 효과를 정압(constant-pressure) 막여과 시 플럭스 증가와 정투과량(constant-flux) 막여과 시 막차압 감소 정도로 측정하고, 플럭스 결과를 막힘여과 모델로 해석하였다. 막모듈의 경사각이 0°에서 180°로 커지면 NCIF 유발이 증가하여 막오염 제어 효과가 커져 2시간의 막여과에서 플럭스는 최대 2.8배까지 증가하고, 막차압은 최대 85%까지 감소하였다. 막힘여과 모델을 적용하여 NCIF의 유발에 따른 플럭스 결과를 해석하여 운전 시간 15분 이내에서는 중간막힘모델 그 이후에는 케이크여과모델로 평가하는 것이 타당하였다. 막모듈 경사각 180°에서 유발된 NCIF는 15분 이내의 운전 초기에는 중간막힘 오염을 52% 감소시키고, 그 이후의 운전 시간에서는 케이크층 오염을 93% 감소시켰다. 따라서 막모듈에 유발된 NCIF의 주된 막오염 제어기작은 막표면에의 입자상 콜로이드 물질의 케이크층 형성을 억제시키는 것으로 평가하였다.

  • This paper presents a wear analysis procedure for calculating the wear of journal bearings of a four-strokes and four-cylinder engine operating at a constant angular crank shaft speed during firing conditions. To decide whether the lubrication state of a journal bearing is in the possible region of wear scar, we utilize the concept of the centerline average surface roughness to define the most oil film thickness scarring wear (MOFTSW) on two rough surfaces. The wear volume is calculated from the wear depth and wear angle, determined by the magnitude of each film thickness on a set of oil films with thicknesses lower than the MOFTSW at every crank angle. To calculate the wear volume at one contact, the wear range ratio during one cycle is used. The total wear volume is then determined by accumulating the wear volume at every contact. The fractional film defect coefficient, asperity load sharing factor, and modified specific wear rate for the application of the mixed-elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication regime are used. The results of this study show that wear occurs only at the connecting-rod big-end bearing. Thus, simulation results of only the big-end bearing are illustrated and analyzed. It is shown that the wear volume of each wear scar group occurs consecutively as the crank angle changes, resulting in the total accumulated wear volume.

암반의 파괴기준에 따른 제주도 현무암의 강도정수 (Strength Parameters of Basalts in Jeju Island according to Rock Failure Criterions)

  • 본 연구에서는 제주도 북동부 육해상, 남동부 해상 및 북서부 해상에서 채취한 현무암 암석에 대하여 삼축압축시험을 수행하였으며, 그 결과로부터 산정된 Hoek-Brown 파괴기준의 파라미터인 암석 계수 $m_i$의 특성을 살펴보았다. 그리고 Hoek-Brown 파괴기준으로부터 추정된 점착력 및 내부 마찰각과 Mohr-Coulomb 파괴기준으로부터 산정된 점착 력 및 내부 마찰각을 각각 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 제주도 현무암 암석에 대한 Hoek-Brown 파괴기준의 암석 계수 $m_i$는 암석의 내부 마찰각과 밀접하게 연관되어 있었으며, 내부 마찰각이 증가함에 따라 급격하게 증가하였다. Hoek-Brown 파괴기준으로부터 추정된 점착력은 Mohr-Coulomb 파괴기준으로부터 산정된 점착력보다 평균적으로 약 24% 정도 과대하게 추정되고 있으며, Hoek-Brown 파괴기준으로부터 추정된 내부 마찰각은 Mohr-Coulomb 파괴기준의 내부 마찰각과 비슷한 값을 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

화강암 절단면과 콘크리트 부착면에 대한 일정강성도 전단시험 (Shear Tests Under Constant Normal Stiffness for Granite-concrete Interface)

  • 본 연구는 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 화강암과 콘크리트의 부착면에서의 전단거동을 이해하려는 데 있다. 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 전단거동을 실내에서 실험하기 위해서는 현장에서의 전단거동을 모델링 해야 한다. 따라서, 말뚝의 축방향 대칭성을 고려해 암반에 근입된 전단면을 2차원으로 모델링함으로써 일정수직강성도(conctant normal stiffness; CNS) 조건의 전단시험을 실시할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 화강암을 대상으로 거칠기, 암의 강도, 응력경계조건 등을 고려하여 암-콘크리트 접촉부에 대한 일정수직강성도 전단시험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 각 변수(요철부의 경사각 및 높이, 수직강성도)에 따른 전단특성(첨두전단강도, 전단응력, 수직응력)은 물론 팽창현상(dilation) 등을 관찰할 수 있었다. 시험결과에 따르면 첨두 전단강도는 요철부의 경사각이 증가할수록, 그리고 수직강성도가 증가할 수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 팽창량은 요철부의 각도가 클수록 수직강성도가 작을수록 크게 나타났다.
