AFFINE YANG-MILLS CONNECTIONS ON NORMAL HOMOGENEOUS SPACES

  • Let G be a compact and connected semisimple Lie group, H a closed subgroup, g (resp. h) the Lie algebra of G (resp. H), B the Killing form of g, g the normal metric on the homogeneous space G/H which is induced by -B. Let D be an invarint connection with Weyl structure (D, g, ${\omega}$) in the tangent bundle over the normal homogeneous Riemannian manifold (G/H, g) which is projectively flat. Then, the affine connection D on (G/H, g) is a Yang-Mills connection if and only if D is the Levi-Civita connection on (G/H, g).

  • Recently, with a progressive development of hardware of computer, the internet and network technology, the environment of construction varies rapidly due to increase the complex form in structure shape and system. With variations, the CAD system for design and products also varies from 2D system to 3D system. This study mainly deals with the methodology of automatic connection design of 3D CAD system, steel connection system (XSteel) using macro. First, using design program in the steel connection system, Xsteel, the joint connection macro will be made up and established the detail classes of design. The next, Database Program (Converter Program) related to the general structural analysis program (MIDAS) and the steel connection program (Xsteel) is constructed for data interface between two programs. From this study, if the merits of 3D CAD system and converter program are utilized well, it is expected that the time needed in modeling and the amounts due to material loses decrease gradually.

LIGHTLIKE SUBMANIFOLDS OF A SEMI-RIEMANNIAN MANIFOLD WITH A SEMI-SYMMETRIC NON-METRIC CONNECTION

  • In this paper, we study lightlike submanifolds of a semi-Riemannian manifold admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. We obtain a necessary and a sufficient condition for integrability of the screen distribution. Then we give the conditions under which the Ricci tensor of a lightlike submanifold with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection is symmetric. Finally, we show that the Ricci tensor of a lightlike submanifold of semi-Riemannian space form is not parallel with respect to the semi-symmetric non-metric connection.

Investigation of a new steel-concrete connection for composite bridges

  • A new type of connection for steel-concrete composite bridges was developed by the Steel Structures Laboratory of Ecole Poytechinque $F{\acute{e}}d{\acute{e}}rale$ de Lausanne. Resistance to longitudinal shear is based on the development of shear stresses in the confined interfaces which form the connection. Confinement is provided by the reinforced concrete slab which encloses the connection and restrains the uplift (lateral separation) of the interfaces by developing normal stresses. The experimental investigation of the interfaces, under static and cyclic loading, enabled the development of the laws describing the structural behaviour of each interface. Those laws were presented by the authors in previous papers. The current paper focuses on the continuity of the research. It presents the experimental investigation on the new connection by means of push-out tests on specimens submitted to static and cyclic shear loading. Investigation revealed that the damage in the connection, due to cyclic loading, is expressed by the accumulation of a residual slip. A safe fatigue failure criterion is proposed for the connection which enabled the verification of the connection for the fatigue limit state with respect to the limit of fatigue. A numerical model is developed which takes into account the laws describing the interface behaviour and the analytical expressions for the confinement effect, the latter obtained by performing finite element analysis. This numerical model predicts the shear resistance of the connection and enables to assess its fatigue limit which is necessary for the fatigue design proposed.

  • A generalized even-dimensional Riemannian manifold defined by the ME-connection which is both Einstein and of the form (3.3) is called an even-dimensional ME-manifold and we denote it by $MEX_{2n}$. The purpose of this paper is to study a necessary and sufficient condition that there is an ME-connection, to derive the useful properties of some tensors, and to investigate a representation of the ME-vector in $MEX_{2n}$.

  • We study generic lightlike submanifolds M of an indefinite trans-Sasakian manifold ${\bar{M}}$ or an indefinite generalized Sasakian space form ${\bar{M}}(f_1,f_2,f_3)$ endowed with an $({\ell},m)$-type metric connection subject such that the structure vector field ${\zeta}$ of ${\bar{M}}$ is tangent to M.

  • 콘크리트 타설중, 콘크리트 타설경로로 인한 부분재하는 동바리의 연결부에 횡력을 발생시킨다. 이러한 횡력을 구속하기 위해 동바리의 상$.$하부 접합부가 못으로 긴결되어야 한다. 그러나 시공성과 동바리 철거의 편의성을 위해 작업자들은 못을 거의 사용하지 않는다. 이러한 경우 동바리의 접합부는 전단력과 회전에 저항할 수 없다. 그리고 이러한 상황은 거푸집-동바리 시스템의 붕괴를 유발시킬 것이다. 그러므로 시공현장의 상황을 고려한다면 거푸집-동바리 시스템의 접합부 해석을 위해 접촉모델 및 스프링모델이 요구된다. 이에 따라 동바리에서의 접합부의 몇가지 유형에 따른 전단강성과 회전강성의 효과를 이해할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 못의 길이, 개수, 위치의 변수에 따라 동바리의 연결부의 회전강성값과 전단강성값을 실험을 통해 평가하고자 하며 동바리의 지지단에 따른 결과를 보여준다. 그리고 이러한 결과는 실제 상황과 유사한 스프링모델 설정 및 좌굴하중 평가에 사용될 수 있다.

  • Let G and H be compact connected Lie groups with biinvariant Riemannian metrics g and h respectively, ${\phi}$ a group isomorphism of G onto H, and $E:={\phi}^{-1}TH$ the induced bundle by $\phi$ over the base manifold G of the tangent bundle TH of H. Let ${\nabla}$ and $^H{\nabla}$ be the Levi-Civita connections for the metrics g and h respectively, $\tilde{\nabla}$ the induced connection by the map ${\phi}$ and $^H{\nabla}$. Then, a necessary and sufficient condition for $\tilde{\nabla}$ in the bundle (${\phi}^{-1}TH$, G, ${\pi}$) to be a Yang- Mills connection is the fact that the Levi-Civita connection ${\nabla}$ in the tangent bundle over (G, g) is a Yang- Mills connection. As an application, we get the following: Let ${\psi}$ be an automorphism of a compact connected semisimple Lie group G with the canonical metric g (the metric which is induced by the Killing form of the Lie algebra of G), ${\nabla}$ the Levi-Civita connection for g. Then, the induced connection $\tilde{\nabla}$, by ${\psi}$ and ${\nabla}$, is a Yang-Mills connection in the bundle (${\phi}^{-1}TH$, G, ${\pi}$) over the base manifold (G, g).

인접 단어들의 접속정보를 이용한 일한 활용어 번역 (Japanese-to-Korean Inflected Word Translation Using Connection Relations of Two Neighboring Words)

  • 일본어와 한국어는 문법적으로 많은 유사점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 유사점을 잘 이용한다면 일한 기계번역 시스템에서 구문해석이나 의미해석의 상당한 부분을 생략할 수 있다. 몇 년 전부터 우리는 유사성을 이용하여 번역율을 높이는 방법으로 번역테이블을 이용한 일한기계번역 시스템을 연구해왔다. 그러나 이 시스템은 활용어미의 번역, 다의성 단어의 처리 등 및 가지 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 본 논문에서는 번역데이블을 이용하는 시스템을 개선하여 이웃하는 단어들과의 관계 정보를 이용한 일한 기계번역 시스템을 제안한다. 현재 시스템의 문제점들을 해결하기 위하여 우선 조사, 조동사의 접속정보를 최대한 이용한다. 또한, 번역 테이블을 엔트리테이블과 접속정보 테이블로 나누어 설계하여 번역의 효율을 높인다. 즉, 하나의 역어만 가지는 단어인 경우, 우리는 일한 직접 대응 방법을 이용하여 바로 번역하고 2개 이상의 역어로 번역되어야 할 경우만 접속 정보 값을 평가하여 가장 가능성이 높은 번역어를 선택하도록 한다.
