한·중 비즈니스 관계의 갈등과 그 해결방안에 대한 모색 (Korea-China Conflicts in Business: A Search after their Solutions)

  • This research is, first of all, a theoretical study concerning 'conflict.' Only then, we could obtain ways in which we manage and resolve various problems arising from conflicts in business between Korean and Chinese companies. In doing this, we also tried to grasp cultural characteristics, or factors, in Chinese ways of carrying out negotiations that lead to conflicts with us. On the basis of these preliminary considerations, we developed practical techniques of conflict management and types of negotiation strategy. We thereby could suggest broader strategic implications for better performance in international business. Concretely, this research investigates techniques of conflict management and types of negotiation strategy. For such techniques and types, we suggest, (1) Sharing technique or reconciliatory compromising negotiation and its compromise strategy, (2) collaborative technique or cooperative negotiation and its win-win strategy, (3) competitive technique or competitive negotiation and its profit-seeking attack strategy, (4) accommodative technique or receptive negotiation and its relation-maintaining yield strategy, (5) avoidant technique or evasive negotiation and its indifference-showing avoidance strategy. This research contributes to promote understanding on negotiation culture of chinese corporate. and we provide the guideline of the conflict management and the insight for the efficiency strategy of chinese business negotiation. But, empirical data and statistical examinations should be added to our present research for the future prospective ones.

국가간 가치지향 차이에 따른 조직내 갈등관리규범과 갈등관리유형 비교연구 -한국과 캐나다 관리자의 조직 내 갈등해결방식을 중심으로- (A Study on Value, Norms and Patterns of Managing Workplace Conflicts; A Comparison between Korea and Canada)

  • This study analyzed which conflict management norm was preferred according to unique cultural difference of nation and such conflict management norm influences on conflict management type in solving real conflict when conflict in organization occurs and such conflict norm had a preference and influence on conflict management type in solving real conflict through such conflict management norm. As the result, first, Korean managers showed still high attitude on group interest and aimed to negotiation. But they highly depended on control. Canada managers showed discussion norm of individual interest and performed conflict management laying stress on unity and negotiation. second, as for conflict management of negotiation, both Canada and Korea performed it on the based of his or her interest discussion and as for plural agenda unity positively influenced to unity conflict management in Korea but in Canada, attitude for the future negatively influenced.

갈등해결전략과 정서지능에 의한 아동의 또래지위 판별 (Discriminant Analysis of Children's Peer Status based on their Conflict-Resolving Strategies and Emotional Intelligence)

  • The purposes of this study were to test differences in conflict-resolving strategies and emotional intelligence based on children's peer status, and to verify the discriminance of conflict-resolving strategies and emotional intelligence for peer status. 58 popular children and 52 rejected children from 4 elementary school were selected, and the data were analyzed with independent sample t-test and discriminant analysis. The research findings are as follows: First, negotiation- and cooperation-strategies (sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategy) and emotional intelligence showed statistically significant differences between popular children and rejected children, while other sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategy and sub-factors of emotional intelligence showed indifference between them. Second, negotiation- and cooperation-strategies among 4 sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategy and 5 sub-factors of emotional intelligence were the most discriminant predictors for children's peer status. The results suggest systematic teacher training and program for the rejected children's improvement of negotiation- and cooperation-strategies in their peer relations.

갈등 관리 프로세스에 의한 ABS협상의 갈등 사례 분석 (Analyzing the Negotiation Process for the Adoption of Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing Arising from their Utilization using the Conflict Management Process)

  • 생물다양성협약이 발효되면서 유전자원의 물질적 거래 즉, '유전자원에 대한 접근과 이의 이용으로 발생한 이익의 공평한 공유(ABS)'의 구체적인 기준을 정립하기 위한 나고야 의정서가 채택되었다. 이 의정서는 선진국과 개도국 간, 생물자원 부국과 빈국 간, 생물자원을 이용하는 다국적 기업과 전통지식을 보전하려는 환경보전단체 간 갈등 과정 끝에 채택된 것이다. 이 사례를 바탕으로 갈등 과정, 갈등 주체와 쟁점을 분석하였고, 선행연구 고찰을 통해 주요 갈등 요인을 규명하여 갈등 관리 프로세스에 적용하였다. 이를 통해 소수의 개별 사례에 한정된 갈등 사례가 아닌 다양한 형태의 갈등 사례에 대해 갈등 예방 및 해결을 위한 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 일반 갈등 사례와 ABS협상 사례의 교집합적인 갈등 요인을 분석하기 위해 선행연구를 검토하여 본질적 측면, 자원 배분 측면, 의사소통 정보공유 측면으로 구분하였다. ABS협상 타결 과정에서 갈등이 예방 및 해결된 사례에 따라 이해당사자들 간 상호 신뢰 구축, 협상 중재자 양성을 위한 정책적 관심 제고, 갈등 관리를 위한 법적 정책적 체계 구축이 주요 시사점으로 제시되었다.

  • Holonic manufacturing systems have been recently presented to meet the various needs of customer rapidly. Holonic manufacturing systems consist of several holons which may perform decision making for the achievement of their objectives. Holonic manufacturing systems are characterized by cooperation and negotiation among holons. The problem of conflict can be occurred during communication between holons. Then the negotiation is required for the holons. This paper deals with a mathematical model for the mediation of negotiation between holons in the holonic manufacturing systems. In this paper an evaluation function for mediation is modeled using the utility function.

An Argument-based Approach to Manage Collaborative Negotiations in Software Systems Design

  • To manage collaborative negotiation in software system design, we have built a socio-technical argument-based negotiation management approach by integrating a Socio-technical Co-construction Process (STCP) with an Argument-based Negotiation Process (ABNP). This paper reviews relevant research work and presents each step of this approach. The STCP provides rich contextual information of technical decisions and social interactions in a system design process. The ABNP provides STCP with a negotiation management and conflict resolution strategy by guiding software engineers to generate, exchange and evaluate their argument claims in negotiation activities. In addition, this paper describes a prototype system which implements this new approach using the advanced Web-based software technologies with the goal of demonstrating how to systematically enhance the negotiation management capabilities in a dynamic socio-technical framework.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a Web-based Negotiation Support System(NSS) to facilitate conflict resolution between departments in a firm. As the management environment is recently becoming more complex and competitive, the need for harmonizing department functions in a firm is increasing much more than ever. In literature, most of conflict resolution approaches have been based on a sort of behavioral concepts including regular meeting or conference. However, as the department functions are wired through the Internet, a new approach to conflict resolution using the web-based technique is deemed necessary. For this purpose, we developed a Web NSS and illustrated a typical case in which conflicts between production and marketing functions are resolved using the Web NSS.

대화와 협상교육의 내용과 사회정치적 함의 (The contents of the Education for Conversation and Negotiation, and its Sociopolitical Implication)

  • 한국사회의 갈등지수는 상당히 높은 편이다. 이해관계가 맞서는 갈등상황에서 반대 입장에 대한 관용이 부족하여 문제를 평화적으로 해결하지 못하는 미성숙한 민주주의의 모습을 보여주고 있다. 극단적인 갈등으로 인한 사회적 비용을 줄이고 민주적으로 상대방과 소통하고 문제에 접근하는 교양 있는 시민을 육성하기 위해 협의적 가치를 내재한 의사소통교육이 중요하다. 본고는 대학 교양교육 차원에서 이루어지고 있는 <대화와 협상> 수업사례를 통해 의사소통교육의 필요성과 사회정치적 차원의 함의를 고찰해 보았다. 현재 대학사회에서 늘어나고 있는 말하기와 관련한 교양수업은 대체로 논리적이고 비판적인 사고방식을 키워주는데 초점이 맞춰져 있다. <대화와 협상> 교육은 이러한 사고능력을 기반으로 상대의 입장을 고려하는 정서적 측면과 갈등 사안을 협력적 관점에서 해결하려는 마인드를 키워준다는 점에서 그 의의가 있음을 살펴보았다. 이러한 의사소통 교육과정은 교수자가 아니라 학생이 중심이 되어 주체적으로 참여하며 문제를 해결하는 의사소통기술과 방법을 익힌다는 점에서 반복적인 실습과 구체적인 피드백을 통한 다양한 훈련 프로그램을 전제로 한다. 궁극적으로 대화와 협상 교육을 통해 학생들은 타자의 입장을 존중하며 갈등을 합리적으로 해결해 가는 성숙한 시민의식과 공동체의 구성원으로서 협의과정을 통해 문제를 해결하려는 자세와 책임의식을 명확히 할 수 있을 것이다.

한국인(韓國人)의 무역협상방식(貿易協商方式)에 관한 연구(硏究) - 일본인의 협상방식비교 - (A Study on the Comparative Pattern of Trade Negotiation between Korea and Japan)

  • This study investigates the different pattern of trade negotiation between Korea and Japan. For the Korea, it is inevitable to enhance nation's competitiveness position amid the rapidly changed international environment. Especially, Korea's recent experience of IMF credit under economic crisis during 1997-1999 tells us the importance of international trade and trade negotiation. Our main interest is focused on the comparative pattern of both countries with the recognition that the role of the negotiation can not be overemphasized for the Korea. This is because Korea has continuously recorded the huge trade deficits with Japan for the long time. Although we consider the different degrees of products quality, industrial structure, productivity, and national competitiveness of both countries, it is necessarily required to pay special attention on different pattern of negotiation skills and tactics between two countries. In the paper, we suggest some important guidelines for Korea to improve its negotiation technique with Japan. First, valuing human relation between negotiators, rather than negotiating process. Second, preparing for negotiations: the negotiators should try to carve out enough time to prepare for the bargaining. Third, appreciating the power of patience: very essential to effective outputs. Fourth, being a specialist on both countries' culture and avoiding lawyers' intervention for conflict resolution.

게임 이론적 접근을 통한 효과적인 윈윈 요구사항 협상 기법 (Successful Win-Win Requirements Negotiation Method using Game Theoretic Approach)

  • 소프트웨어 생태계의 시장 중심 개발 환경에서 소프트웨어 기업은 제품의 성공을 위해서 자신의 비즈니스와 고객에게 높은 가치를 제공할 수 있어야만 시장 경쟁력을 가지고 생존할 수 있다. 요구공학적 관점에서 제품 요구사항 선택을 통한 가치 제공을 위해서 이해관계자들 각자의 다른 이해가 조정되어 합의되어야 한다. 즉, 요구공학 단계에서 높은 가치 창출을 고려하는 합의된 요구사항을 선택할 필요가 있다. 기존 연구들은 소프트웨어 생태계에서 요구되는 이해관계자들의 다른 이해에 대한 요구공학적 기법의 필요성을 언급하였을 뿐, 구체적인 가이드라인 및 수행 방법에 대하여 제안하지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 요구공학에서 사용되는 Goal 개념 기반으로 협상 참가자의 의도를 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 요구사항 충돌의 근거를 구조화하여 관리할 수 있도록 한다. 궁극적으로 협상 참가자의 이기적 행동을 바탕으로 게임 이론적 개념을 이용한 요구사항 충돌 해결 방법론을 제안한다.
