Mode Analysis of Cascaded Four-Conductor Lines Using Extended Mixed-Mode S-Parameters

  • In this paper, based on the mode analysis of four-conductor lines, the extended mixed-mode chain-parameters and S-parameters of four-conductor lines are estimated using current division factors. The extended mixed-mode chain-parameters of cascaded four-conductor lines are then obtained with mode conversion. And, the extended mixed-mode S-parameters of cascaded four-conductor lines can be predicted from the transformation of the extended chain-parameters. Compared to the extended mixed-mode S-parameters of four-conductor lines, the cross-mode S-parameters are induced in the extended mixed-mode S-parameters of cascaded four-conductor lines, due to the imbalanced current division factors of cascaded two sections. The generated cross-mode S-parameters make the equivalent different- and common-mode conductors not independent from each other again. In addition, a new mode conversion, which applies the imbalanced current division factors, between the extended mixed-mode S-parameters and standard S-parameters is also proposed in this paper. Finally, the validity of the proposed extended mixed-mode S-parameters and mode conversion is confirmed by a comparison of the simulated and estimated results of shielded cable.

인하도선시스템 시설에서의 문제점과 대책 (Problems and Countermeasures in Installation of Down Conductor Systems)

  • 내본 논문에서는 뇌서지에 의해서 발생하는 컴퓨터를 비롯한 전자기기의 장해에 대한 보호대책을 제안하기 위해서내 국내의 뇌보호설비에 대한 규격과 지침에 대한 기술적인 문제점을 분석하였다. 인하도선의 설치방법에 따른 인하도선과 인입용 금속관을 통하여 흐르는 전류사이의 관계를 검토하였으며, 인하도선계에 미치는 표피효과의 영향을 평가하는 실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 인하도선을 인입용 금속관에 전기적으로 접속한 때 인하도선과 금속관은 하나의 도체로 작용하며, 표피효과와 쵸킹효과 때문에 뇌격전류는 인하도선보다도 금속관을 통하여 훤씬 많은 전류가 흘렀다. 따라서 뇌격전류에 의한 인하도선의 전위상승으로 야기되는 정전유도와 측면방전 등의 악영향을 억제하기 위해서는 인하도선을 인입용 금속관과 건물의 철골 구조체에 전기적으로 접속하는 것이 매우 효과적이다.

STACIR/AW 410SQmm 가공송전선의 경년열화와 이도거동(III) (Sag Behavior of STACIR/AW 410SQmm Overhead Conductor in accordance with the Aging)

  • As a way to expand electric capacity in conductor with electric power demand, STACIR/AW (Super Thermal-resistant Aluminum-alloy Conductors Aluminum-clad Invar-Reinforced) conductor which has high electric current and heat resistance characteristics have been developed. STACIR/AW power line is mechanical composite wire composed of steel cores for dip control and aluminum conductors for sending electric current. Recently, to ensure stable operation and prediction of wire life span of STACIR/AW conductor, a heat property of STACIR/AW conductor have been investigated. In the present work, a change of essential property with long term-heat exposure of STACIR/AW conductor and its structure material, INVAR wire and Al conductor, have been investigated. INVAR/AW is approximately $3.2\;{\mu}m/m^{\circ}C$. thermal expansion coefficient of INVAR/AW wire increases with time of heat exposure. the thermal expansion coefficient of INVAR/AW is markedly influenced by heat and mechanical treatment. creep rate(0.242) of STACIR/AW $410\;mm^2$ conductor at room temperature is much higher than that(0.022) at $210\;^{\circ}C$ STACIR/AW $410\;mm^2$ conductor has minimum creep rate at operating temperature. To lower creep rate with increase temperature is more unique characteristics in STACIR/AW. It is expected that STACIR/AW turned its tension to INVAR/AW at the transition temperature. at room temperature, the tension apportionment of INVAR/AW in STACIR/AW is about $50\;\%$. but whole tension of STACIR/AW is placed on the INVAR/AW alone of core metal above transition temperature.

절연층에 따른 전류제한기용 YBCO박막형 선재의 전류제한 특성 (Current Limiting Characterics of YBCO Coated Conductor for SFCL According to Insulation)

  • YBCO coated conductor can change the stabilization layer for purpose and it leads advantages in Improvement of tape's critical properties and Application. Such properties rise possibility of using YBCO coated conductor for Superconductor Fault Current Limiter, therefore, we investigate changing properties under over current condition and limiting characteristics. In this study, YBCO coated conductor's current limiting characteristic stainless steel stabilization layer under condition of changing conductor's insulating layer. Consequently, the resistance followed insulating layer so we know that limiting characteristics.

Comparisons of internal self-field magnetic flux densities between recent Nb3Sn fusion magnet CICC cable designs

  • The Cable-In-Conduit-Conductor (CICC) for the ITER tokamak Central Solenoid (CS) has undergone design change since the first prototype conductor sample was tested in 2010. After tests showed that the performance of initial conductor samples degraded rapidly without stabilization, an alternate design with shorter sub-cable twist pitches was tested and discovered to satisfy performance requirements, namely that the minimum current sharing temperature ($T_{cs}$) remained above a given limit under DC bias. With consistent successful performance of ITER CS conductor CICC samples using the alternate design, an attempt is made here to revisit the internal electromagnetic properties of the CICC cable design to identify any correlation with conductor performance. Results of this study suggest that there may be a simple link between the $Nb_3Sn$ CICC internal self-field and its $T_{cs}$ performance. The study also suggests that an optimization process should exist that can further improve the performance of $Nb_3Sn$ based CICC.

고자장 자석용 1.8T HTS insert 코일 개발 (Development of a 1.8T HTS Insert Coil for High Field Magnet)

  • We designed and manufactured a 1.8T high temperature superconducting(HTS) insert coil for a NMR magnet operated at 4.2 K. Suitable HTS superconductor and HTS coil were carefully designed and developed. We have selected multi-filamentary Bi2223 conductor fabricated by American Superconductor Corporation(AMSC). The selected conductor consists of Bi2223 filaments of 55, silver stabilizer and stainless steel reinforcement tapes. Therefore, it shows good hoop strength as well as compression tolerance. The conductor has a tape cross-section of 0.31mm x 4.8mm. the Bi2223 conductor shows large anisotropy of critical current. The critical current of conductor in magnetic field parallel to the flat surface are much higher than that in magnetic field perpendicular. The HTS coil has an inner diameter of 78 mm, an outer diameter of 127 mm and a coil length of 600 mm. In this paper, the detailed design, fabrication and test results on the HTS insert coil are presented.

Parametric Study for Conductor Design of KSTAR PF Coils

  • Large superconducting magnets such as ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Research) or KSTAR (Korean Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) magnet system adopted a cable-in-conduit conductor (CICC) using a forced-flow cooling system. Main optimization criteria for the conductor design of superconducting magnet system are stability margin and CICC cooling requirements. A zero-dimensional method is applied for the calculation of stability and the conductor optimization. In order to increase conductor performance, three different strands, ITER HP-I and HP-II, and KSTAR HP-Ⅲ, are tested. The strand characteristics of KSTAR HP-Ⅲ are measured in the Samsung's PPMS and Jc measurement system, and applied for this study. Also, the strand diameters, 0.81 mm and 0.78 mm are considered for this study, due to design change. Based on this result, the proposed configuration of CICC has been fabricated.

  • For 4-conductor bundle transmission line spacer damper are equipped so as to keep the spacing between sub conductors. For 4-conductor bundle the subspan spacing of a spacer damper is determined and applied in order that the bundle may get restored to a normal state when 4-conductor bundle is rolled by rigid body vibration due to wind. But 4 conductors of 345kV 4-conductor bundle transmission line were twisted by the angle of $315^{\circ}$ for the first time korea. In this paper, we will analyze the reason of the power line twisting of 4-conductor bundle which occurred for the first time in korea and offer the preventive countermeasures for this

  • AC loss of a high $T_c$ superconducting conductor has a strong influence on the economic viability of a superconducting fault current limiter, which offers an attractive means to limit short circuit current in the power systems. Therefore, several samples of the fault current limiting coils have been fabricated and the effect of conductor's arrangement and current direction on AC loss characteristics investigated experimentally The test result shows that the AC losses measured in the fault current limiting coils depend significantly on the conductor's arrangement. Futhermore, they are also considerably influenced by the conductor's current direction. The AC loss measured in the face-to-face arrangement is smallest among the fault current limiting coil samples.
