In this paper, the electromagnetic coupling through a slit in a flanged parallel-plate waveguide with a conducting strip is studied. The coupled integro-differential equations for the electric field over the slit and the induced current over the strip are derived and solved by use of the method of moments. The characteristics of some types of maximum coupling phenomena are investigated from the examinations of the variations of the equivalent slit admittance and the coupled power against various parameters such as the location of conducting strip, operating frequency, and strip length.

In this study, the electromagnetic coupling through a narrow transverse slit in the upper wall of a parallel-plate waveguide(PPW) covered by a dielectric slab with a nearby conducting strip on the slab is considered. Two contrastive coupling phenomena, cavity-type and parasitic-type, observed in the geometry have been distinguished by differences in the resonant strip lengths and offset positions, induced strip current, radiation pattern, frequency bandwidth, and electromagnetic field distributions near the coupling slit.

An analysis method for the electromagnetic scattering of a gaussian beam wave by finite periodic conducting strip grating on a groudned dielectric slab is considered. The intergral equation for the unknown current induced on the conducting strip surface is derived and solbed numerically by use of the method of moment. From knowledge of the strip current, the quantities of interest such as radiation pattern, the space wave power radiated into the free space, and the coupled surface wave power propagating along the dielectric slab are computed for the appropriately chosen parametes Some similarity between scattering behaviours of the present geometry and the infinite geometry is examined by observing the Off-bragg as well as bragg blaxing penomena in both geometries. The validity of the numerical results are assured by a check of the power conservation relations.
In this paper, the solutions of TM (transverse magnetic) scattering problems by perfectly conducting strip grating on two dielectric layers are analyzed by applying the FGMM (Fourier Galerkin moment method) as a numerical method. For the TM scattering problem, the induced surface current density is expected to the very high value at both edges of the strip, then the induced surface current density on the strip is expanded in a series of the multiplication of the functions of appropriate edge boundary condition and the Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind. The numerical results are obtained for the magnitude of induced current density, the normalized reflected power and transmitted power. The numerical results using proposed functions were improved the convergence faster than existing exponential functions, and the numerical results shown the good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

In this paper, Electromagnetic scattering problem by a perfectly conducting strip grating with 2 dielectric layer on a grounded plane by incidence of a electric wave is analyzed by applying the PMM (Point Matching Method) known as a simple procedure. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the conducting boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip When the incident angle is normal incidence the minimum value of the geometrically normalized reflected power according as relative permittivity is increased it should be noted that the value of the strip width gets moved toward high value. Them most energy by a normal incident wave is scattered in direction of the other angles except normal incident angle.

In this paper, the problem of electromagnetic coupling between a slit fed by a flanged parallel-plate waveguide (FPPW) and a nearby conducting strip parallel to the slit is studied as a simplified problem for a near-field scanning microscopy (NSM). The characteristics of the FPPW are investigated from the results for the variations of the equivalent slit admittance, the reactive powers near the slit inside and outside the FPPW, the magnitude and phase of the voltage reflection coefficient of the TEM wave. The performance of the proposed apparatus as an NSM is tested by examining the effects of various geometrical parameters such as guide height, slit width, strip width, distance between slit and strip, and the ratio of slit width to guide height on the magnitude and phase of the voltage reflection coefficient of the TEM wave. From the results for the voltage reflection coefficient against the strip offset from the slit, it is found that a slit in the FPPW with smaller guide height gives higher scanning resolution and the phase variation is more sensitive than the magnitude variation.

In this study, the electromagnetic coupling through a narrow slit in the upper wall of a short-ended parallel-plate waveguide(PPW) covered by a dielectric slab with a nearby conducting strip on the slab Is considered for the case that the TEM wave is incident in the PPW. Coupled integral equations whose unknowns are the slit electric field and the induced electric current over the strip are derived and solved numerically by use of the method of moments. From results, it has been observed that most of the incident power can be coupled exterior to the guide by appropriately setting the strip width and position, though the slit is very narrow. In addition, the differences between the radiation phenomena, observed in the cases that the conducting strip and the upper Plate of the PPW form a cavity and that strip behaves like a parasitic element, are discussed.
It is important factor to design the strip layout drawing according to product properties in press die design. Press dies are important processes in production such as a car component, house electronics, computer parts etc. In this paper, the strip layout of parts was designed for transfer dies. Results of this study can be modify the punch, trim position and notching shapes of strip layout. Utilization ratio was 70.3% by conducting piercing and notching for scrap design and materials were arranged with wide width of blank layout.

The problem of electromagnetic coupling through a narrow slit in a parallel-plate waveguide(PPW) covered by a dielectric slab with a conducting strip on the slab is considered for the case that the TEM wave is incident in the PPW. Coupled integral equations for the tangential electric field in the slit and the induced current over the strip are derived and solved numerically by use of the method of moments. In order to show the effect of the conducting strip on the coupling, some numerical results for the reflected and transmitted powers in the guide, the coupled power through the slit, the equivalent slit admittance, and radiation pattern are presented. From the results, it is observed that the maximum available power coupled through the slit exterior to the PPW amounts upto 50% of the incident power in the PPW.

The E-polarized scattering problem by a resistive strip grating is analyzed by the method of moments in the spectral domain. For an E-polarized scattering, the induced current density is expected to blow up at both edges. Then the induced surface current density on the strip is expanded in a series of the multiplication of Ultraspherical polynomials with zeroth order and functions with appropriate edge condition. The expansion coefficients are calculated numerically in the spectral domain. When the resistivity of the strip becomes 0, the numerical results agree with those of a perfectly conducting strip srating. And the convergence of the moment-method solutions is very much improved using the basis functions proposed in this paper, compared with that of the existing exponential functions.
