Statement of problem: There has been a eat interest in the use of titanium for fixed and removable prostheses in recent because of its excellent biocompatibility. However, the melting temperature and chemical reactivity of titanium necessities casting system different from those used in conventional casting. The current titanium casting systems are based on an electric-arc design for melting the metal in an argon atmosphere and its exclusive investment. Despite the new development in Ti casting system, inadequate mold filling and internal porosity are frequently observed casting defects. Purpose : The purposes of this study were to compare the castibility and reaction layer of the casting titanium under the two casting machines and their investment condition. Material and method: coping and machine-milled titanium coping according to the casting methods and the marginal configurations. The total 28 specimens were used, and these are divided into 4 groups according to 2 casting machines and 2 investments. The castings were analyzed using x-ray microanalysis and microhardness testing. The reaction layer between margin of titanium casting and the investments was observed and analyzed with scanning electron microscope. Result: 1. Castabiliy of casting titanium specimen was best in the group of centrifugal casting machine and Selevest $CB^{\circledR}$ and good that of Selevest CB and pressure differential casting machine, Rematitan plus and centrifugal casting machine, Rematitan plus and pressure differential casting machine in order. 2. There was no significanct correlation in titanium castability in respect of casting machine. However ANOVA indicated that Selevest $CB^{\circledR}$ groups had significantly better castability than Rematitan $plus^{\circledR}$ groups.(p<0.05) 3. There was a significant microhardness difference between centrifugal casting machine groups and pressure differential groups.(p<0.05) Titanium castings in centifugal groups had significantly harder than those in pressure differential groups. 4. The addition of zirconia decreased interfacial reactivity. Conclusion: above result revealed that of the castability of titanium casting specimens had little correlation in casting machines and was better in magnesia-based investment contained ZrO2 groups. However in order to practice casting titanium in clininic, its castability should be improved, also there should be more research on factor of castability so that long-span prothesis and removable partial denture metla frame may be casted completly.

Wire bonding process in making semiconductor needs the most precise control and Critical To Quality(CTQ). Thus, it is regarded to be the most essential step in packaging process. In this process, pure gold wire is used to connect the chip and PCB(substrate or lead frame). However, the price of gold has been skyrocketing continuously for a long period of time and is expected to further increase in the near future. This phenomenon situates us in an unfavorable condition amidst the competitive environment. To avoid this situation, many semiconductor material making companies developed new types of wires: Au.Ag wire is one material followed by many others. This study is aimed to optimize the parameter in wire bonding with the use of 6sigma and QFD(Quality Function Deployment). 6sigma process is a good means to not only solve the problem, but to increase productivity. In order to find the key factor, we focused on VOB(Voice of Business) and VOC(Voice of Customer). The main factors from VOB, VOC are called CTQ. However, there were times when these main factors were far from offering us the correct answer, thus making the situation more difficult to handle. This study shows that QFD aids in deciding which of the accurate factors to undertake. Normally QFD is used in designing and developing products. 6sigma process is held more effective when it used with QFD.

The behavior of the unsaturated soil slope can be influenced by the various factors such as the hydraulic characteristics, the mechanical characteristics, the coefficient of conductivity, the stratifications, the rainfall conditions i.e. the rainfall intensity, the rainfall pattern, the duration time of the rainfall and the antecedent rainfall etc. It is known that the slope failure is influenced greatly by the antecedent rainfall rather than the rainfall condition at the failure time, so the antecedent rainfall is supposed to be a very important factor in slope stability analysis among these factors. To predict and to prevent the slope failure by the rainfall, the distribution of the matric suction by the antecedent rainfall must be considered first of all and the slope stability analysis should be carried out by considering the successive rainfall characteristics. In this research, 3 samples with different quantity (5%, 10%, 20%) of silts were prepared and the SWCC (Soil-water characteristic curve) tests were carried out and the associated parameters were analyzed. After analyzing the distribution of the matric suction and the change of the mechanical characteristics such as the stress and the strength when applying the antecedent rainfall for one month and the successive intensive rainfall for 12 hours, the slope stability analyses were carried out numerically. And the influence of the antecedent rainfall for one month and the SWCC on the stability of a slope were compared and analyzed.

This study aims to suggest ways to improve sustainability on housing complexes. This study sampled eight housing projects in Seoul and GyeongGi-Do in Korea, which were completed in June 2007 and June 2008. Then, are retention and maintenance on "constructed greens for ecological environment" including "green structures substitutes retaining walls", "green roofs", and "green walls." Study methods are field investigations of the sampled sites, and Post Occupancy Analysis. Major findings were; 1) "constructed greens" are not well retained in more sites and and this implies the GBCS(Green Building Certification System) does not meet its objectives well, 2) User showed lower user satisfaction to "constructed greens". User satisfaction concerning "green structures substitute retaining walls" was higher than the satisfaction on the other constructed green type. Satisfaction Assessment Criteria lower 1han average were "level of quality", "meet the design objectives", "vegetation management status", "vegetation maintenance". 3) User satisfaction was strongly correlated on the level of quality factor of "constructed green". In addition, tue other factors are the significant correlations between the satisfactions. The present GBCS has inadequate assessment standards for maintenance, which lead to lower the entire satisfaction. Therefore, periodic recertification system, education and information providing for the managing personals, and incentives for good maintenance or disincentive for poor maintenance of the "constructed greens" are suggested to improve the GBCS.
In order to establish a rainfall-runoff model, calibration of hydrological parameters for the model is very important. Especially, Curve Number(CN), estimated by NRCS method, is a main factor to apply unit hydrograph theory to calculation of peak discharge. For using NRCS method, it is needed selecting AMC because CN is strongly connected with that. In this study, we focus our concern on finding a applicable standard for selecting AMC for CN. For this, three dams which are Boryeong, Habchon, Namgang are selected as target basins to use observed data including rainfall and dam inflow. As a result of this research, it is found that CN must be included as a calibrated parameter to calculate effective rainfall for the rainfall-runoff model. Also, it is preferred to use PWRMSE of HEC-HMS program as a objective function for optimizing hydrological parameters. From the analyzing result of variation of AMC for peak discharge, it is recommended to apply AMC-III to estimation of CN for calculating effective rainfall of design hydrograph.
This study attempt to evaluate the recreation space(two patterns ; one is open space ; forest, water-front space and free open space, the other recreational fercilities) located in the natural area based on clarifying the relationship between the physical conditions of these spaces and human response(users' cognitive evaluation and users' activity pattern). On this standpoint it was proceeded to analyses of the information which was collected by interviews to users who were in this open space at the natural park of Osaka Prefecture. Through this study, the results were summarized as follows ; 1) Forest and waterfront space are considered to be a basic factor of the composition in natural recreation areas. There was difference on the recreational value depending on condition of forest composition. The hardwood-forest apparently high in its efficiency. 2) Free open space is a definite recreational space surely wide in its scope of active of recreational use. The site should be setted up considering the plants conditions around and geographical features according to the recreational activities, and the ground cover should be well controlled. 3) The recreational facilities in natural settings such as the sightseeing tower, the insect display hall, and the camp site appeared to produce low value as a recreational space. It was desirable that recreational activities be allowed within the scope. Consequently, we should carefully consider environmental capacity and landscape to designing these spaces 4) Traditional history and cultural properties are recognized as part of recreational resource as and also as essence of the compositions. So continuos care and proportion of history and cultural properties should be guaranteed.
To clarify the annual reproductive cycle of the banded catfish, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco (Richardson), the seasonal changes in histological aspect of gonad and liver were examined. The adult fish was raptured from the upper stream of Young-San river, Chunnam in each month from May 1992 to June 1993. Based on the annual changes in GSI (gonadosomatic index), HSI (hepatosomatic index), CF (condition factor) and histological aspects of the gonads, the annual reproductive cycle were classified into 5 periods as follows: 1) Growing phase (from April to early May): The value of GSI increased and the size of oocytes in perinucleolus stage in oocytes increased gradually. Spermatogonia were developed actively from the epithelial tissues of seminiferous tubules. 2) Maturing phase (from Hay to early June): GSI levels increased rapidly in both sex. Oocytes at various developmental stages were observed. Appearance of active spermatogenesis were observed. 3) Mature and spawning phase (from June to August): High values of GSI remained static and oocytes accumulated significant quantitis of yolk globules. 4) Degenerating phase (from September to November): GSI levels decreased and ovaries were filled mostly with oocytes at the perinucleolus stage. Hepatic cells accumulated significant amounts of lipid droplets. 5) Resting period (from December to March) : Low values of GSI were kept and the size of oocytes at the perinucleolus stage did not increase. Spermatogenesis was not observed.

Seven constructed and three natural tidal flats were compared to evaluate state-of- the-art of creation and restoration technology for tidal flats. parameters studied were physico-chemical and biological characteristics of soils and rate of respiration. The natural tidal flats had higher contents of silts, nitrogen and organic matter compared to the constructed ones. The natural ones had reductive Bone below 2 cm whereas the constructed ones had oxidative zone from the surface to below 20 cm. The bacterial population in the soil of the constructed tidal flats was one to two magnitudes lower than that in the natural ones. Biomass of macrobenthos and microbial respiration rate, however, were not different significantly between the natural and the constructed tidal flats. The purification capacity by diatom+bacterial+meiobenthos and macrobenthos in the constructed tidal flats was higher than that in the natural ones due to deeper permeable layer for purification in the constructed tidal flats. There was an exceptional constructed tidal flat with similar physico-chemical and biological characteristics to natural ones. Shearing stress to the surface of the tidal flat by the flow of seawater was as low as that of natural ones. These hydraulic conditions seemed to be a controlling factor on structures and functions of tidal flats. The control of hydraulic condition seemed to be one of the most important factors to create natural-like tidal flats.
