  • Recently, to obtain the reliable data on the state of the structure, various non-destructive techniques are available. The infrared thermography technique is used in detection of cracks, flaws of concrete structures and buildings. In this paper the infrared thermography technique using the difference of surface temperature was studied. Also this paper is case study that the inspection of building's tile using infrared thermal video.

  • The tile construction methods for existing have been used materials within limit which adhesion by wet method in masonry wall and concrete structure. These existing adhesive tech can caused many problems in construction of large and reform tile, after that it can be happened loose scale, peel off, falling off tile by heat and vibration or impact. In according to, this study is to test tile for bond stability, adhesive property by impact, vibration. low property by heat and then, we have the results as below; (1) The tile adhesive stability can be effected as adhesive area between bond agent and tile, adhesive area can more wide and press enough to ensure property. (2) Existing adhesive strength and standard relative tile construction is limited to adjust performance tile on the concrete and masonry wall. In summary, It is necessary to establish standard of performance and test method to ensure tile adhesive salability in dry wall.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of tile adhesion failure due to weak adhesion with concrete admixture (FA, SP) on walls. The test specimens were divided into four types : (1) OPC 100% (2) OPC 80%+FA 20% (3) OPC 80%+SP 20% (4) OPC 60%+SP 40%, each adhered on a 650 × 650mm wall with 200mm thickness capable of attaching two insulation tiles (300 × 600mm). The tests were carried out on the four types of walls by mortar bedding application method, and after 4 weeks of curing period, adhesion strength test was carried out. The adhesion strength difference was investigated between the concrete wall with added admixture (FA, SP) and general concrete wall.

  • This study used Geopolymer to study tile waterproofing adhesives. The materials used in this study were polymer and acrylic resin, and were evaluated based on adhesion and water resistance. In particular, the adhesion was evaluated under various conditions, and the substrate was comparatively evaluated on the concrete and tile surface conditions.

  • This study attempts to calculate tile nominal flexural strength of reinforced concrete beam with carbon fiber sheets by tile 27 cases which have three steel ratios and four reinforcing ratios. Based on the result, application possibilities of strength design method to estimate the nominal moment is investigated and valuable data of carbon fiber sheets for reinforcing design will be discussed.

  • This Study is concerned workability and the physical properties for practical use of waste concrete powder originated from the manufacturing progress of waste concrete aggregate and it apply to concrete tile. Also because it is important that concrete tile has to ensure the surface moisture stability, for solving the problems aplied curing method is air-dried and autoclave curing. As the result, the physical properties, such as fluent properties, compressive strength, surface hardness and surface glossiness, were decreased with increase of replacement ratio of waste concrete powder, also surface stability was weaked about moisture. But by autoclave curing, it is possible that compressive strength and surface hardness increased, and surface moisture stability is ensured.

  • 최근 타일접착제 시장이 성장함에 따라 이에 관한 국제규정인 ISO 13007이 제정 되었으며, 세계 각국에서 동(同)규정의 전면적 혹은 부분적 수용을 통한 자국규정의 개정활동이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 국내에서도 타일접착제 관련 KS규정의 국제규정 부합화에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 타일접착제 국제규정의 국내 도입을 앞두고 타일시멘트의 중요한 성능지표인 접착강도에 미치는 하지 종류의 영향을 검토함으로써 국제규준에 적합한 접착하지의 확보방안을 제안하고자 하였다.

Experimental study and FE analysis of tile roofs under simulated strong wind impact

  • A large number of low-rise buildings experienced serious roof covering failures under strong wind while few suffered structural damage. Clay and concrete tiles are two main kinds of roof covering. For the tile roof system, few researches were carried out based on Finite Element (FE) analysis due to the difficulty in the simulation of the interface between the tiles and the roof sheathing (the bonding materials, foam or mortar). In this paper, the FE analysis of a single clay or concrete tile with foam-set or mortar-set were built with the interface simulated by the equivalent nonlinear springs based on the mechanical uplift and displacement tests, and they were expanded into the whole roof. A detailed wind tunnel test was carried out at Tongji University to acquire the wind loads on these two kinds of roof tiles, and then the test data were fed into the FE analysis. For the purpose of validation and calibration, the results of FE analysis were compared with the full-scale performance ofthe tile roofs under simulated strong wind impact through one-of-a-kind Wall of Wind (WoW) apparatus at Florida International University. The results are consistent with the WoW test that the roof of concrete tiles with mortar-set provided the highest resistance, and the material defects or improper construction practices are the key factors to induce the roof tiles' failure. Meanwhile, the staggered setting of concrete tiles would help develop an interlocking mechanism between the tiles and increase their resistance.

Self-cleaning 침투성 함침제의 적용에 따른 타일 및 콘크리트 표층부의 개질특성 (Reforming Property of Tile and Concrete Surface layer Using Self-cleaning Concrete Impregnant)

  • Concrete structure is not the only material vulnerable to physical and chemical processes of deterioration associates with severe conditions. Deterioration of the concrete structure, however, occurs more progressively from the outside of the concrete exposed to severe conditions. Especially, Carbonation, chloride ion attack is more important factor of concrete durability. This study is interested in manufacturing the self-cleaning concrete surface impregnant including TEOS, lithium silicate for the repair of the exposed concrete surface and the color concrete requiring the advanced function in view of the concrete appearance. Form the results, TEOS and lithium silicate are very effective that increasing the concrete durability using self-cleaning concrete impregnant. Self-cleaning concrete impregnant specimens is satisfied with performance requirement of KS standard in adhesion test in tension but the reinforcement of concrete substrate is slight. So, the self-cleaning concrete impregnant of this study is more desirable for the improvement of durability rather than the reinforcement.
