보조기층재로서 폐콘크리트의 안정성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stability of the Waste Concrete as the Subgrade Materials)

  • The construction waste concrete produce from the demolished concrete structures. These waste concrete materials are useful and valuable for fill and subgrade and are considered to use as the subgrade material of the road. To use the subgrade of the road with the waste concrete, the several experiments involved with compaction test and laboratory C. B. R. etc. are performed. These experiments are compared with criteria of the road construction manual. It is shown that the quality of the construction waste concrete satisfies that of the subgrade mentioned in the road construction manual.

신속개방형 콘크리트 도로포장재의 설계를 위한 실험실적 평가 연구 (A Study on Design of High Early Strength Cement and Concrete for Road Way Pavements)

  • In road pavements, it is known that cement concrete pavement has superior durability, safety in compared with asphalt concrete pavement. But in reparing pavement cement concrete pavement is not usually applied because of the length of time while the road is interrupted when using Ordinary and Rapid-hardening Portland Cement. And Super High Early Strength Cement and Ultra Super High Early Strength Cement are not favorable for ready mixied concrete because of rapid setting time, high slump loss and other restrictions. We aim to develope specific cement and concrete developing 1 day strength of over 300 kg/$cm^{2}$ to open the road within one day and workable time is maintained over 1 hour that can be used as ready mixed concrete. In this study, we Produced cement using rapid-hardening cement, Hauyne clinker, anhydride gypsum and accelerator and studied on its properties. The concrete strength was over 300 kg/$cm^{2}$ at 1 day and 550 kg/$cm^{2}$ at 28 day and workable time was maintained for over 1 hour.

We developed special cement developing 1 day strength of over 30.0N/$mm^2$ to open the road within 1 day and workable time is maintained over 1 hour so that it can be used as ready mixed concrete. We performed experimental overlay construction with concrete and evaluated the properties of the fresh and hardened concrete. The flexural strength was over 5.0N/$mm^2$ and the compressive strength was over 30N/$mm^2$ at 1 day. So it is thought that the road can be open to traffic within 1 day after placement.

  • 도로의 결빙은 겨울철 차량사고의 큰 원인으로 작용하며, 특히 고속도로에서의 노면결빙은 대형사고로 이어질 수 있다. 이러한 노면결빙으로 인한 사고는 노면상태를 파악하여 사전에 결빙을 방지함으로서 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 고속도로에 적용된 콘크리트 포장체의 노면상태를 평가하기 위하여 상습결빙구간에 포장체 깊이별로 온도센서를 설치하였다. 이 결과는 향후 결빙 사전예측을 위한 노면상태판정의 기초자료로 효과적으로 활용될 것이다.

Temperature Reduction of Concrete Pavement Using Glass Bead Materials

  • In this study, different proportions of glass beads used for road marking were added into the concrete samples to reduce the temperature gradient through the concrete pavement thickness. It is well known that decreasing the temperature gradient reduces the risk of thermal cracking and increases the service life of concrete pavement. The extent of alkali-silica reaction (ASR) produced with partial replacement of fine aggregate by glass bead was investigated and compressive strength of concrete samples with different proportion of glass bead in their mix designs were measured in this study. Ideal results were obtained with less than 0.850 mm diameter size glass beads were used (19 % by total weight of aggregate) for C30/37 class concrete. Top and bottom surface temperatures of two different C30/37 strength class concrete slabs with and without glass beads were measured. It was identified that, using glass bead in concrete mix design, reduces the temperature differences between top and bottom surfaces of concrete pavement. The study presented herein provides important results on the necessity of regulating concrete road mix design specifications according to regions and climates to reduce the temperature gradient values which are very important in concrete road design.

도로구조물 경량화를 위한 복합재료 샌드위치 패널에 관한 연구 (The Advanced Composite Sandwich Panels for Light Weight of Road Structures)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate to the practicing engineers, how to apply the advanced composite materials theory to the road structures. For general construction material used, there is certain theoretical limit in sizes. For super road structure construction, the reduction in panel weight is the first step to take in order to break such size limits. METHODS : For a typical road structures panel, both concrete and advanced composite sandwich panels are considered. The concrete panel is treated as a special orthotropic plate. RESULTS : All types of advanced composite sandwich panels are considered as a self-weights less than one tenth of that of concrete panel. The concrete panel is treated as a special orthotropic plate to obtain more accurate result. CONCLUSIONS : Advanced composite sandwich panels are considered as a self-weights less than one tenth (10%) of that of concrete panel, with deflections less than that of the concrete panel. This conclusion gives good guide line for design of the light weight of road structures.

  • As the economy of a country develops, the necessity for social overhead capital such as railroad, highway and other transportation infrastructures becomes an utmost issue as the volume of traffic increases. As the standard of living has been raised the needs for ecological road pavement also increase. As a matter of fact, the concrete and asphalt pavement have been constructed without considering the harmony with nature. The Road Compound pavement is constructed with local soils from optimum mixture proportions that did not contaminate the surroundings and represent the ecological pavement.

폐콘크리트 재활용 기술에 관한 연구 (A Study for Reuse of Recycled Concrete)

  • The recycled aggregate obtained from the recycled concrete may be used in road construction as crushed aggregate. The properties of recycled aggregate are reached to the values in accordance with specification for the subbase layer of the road construction. However, for the base layer of road construction, the mixtures of recycled aggregate and crushed aggregate have to be used in order to satisfy the specification. In the Batch Leaching Test the recycled aggregate has lower content of heavy matal and organic matter than those written in environmental pollution law. So it does not occur the environmental pollution.

We performed experimental overlay construction with the cement and evaluated the mechanical property and the durability. At curing temperature of 8-l8$^{\circ}C$,the flexural strength was 6.4N/mm$^2$at 1 day, so that the road can be open to traffic within 1 day. In durability test, the hardened concrete showed higher durability than Portland cement concrete.
