Extensive experimental studies on remarkable mechanical properties Polypropylene Fibre Reinforced Self-compacting Concrete (PFRSCC) have been executed, including different fibre volume fractions of Polypropylene fibers (0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1%) and different water to cement ratios (0.21, 0.34, 0.38, and 0.41). The experimental program was carried out by using two hundred and sixteen specimens to obtain the impact resistance and mechanical properties of PFRSCC materials, considering compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and flexural strength. Statistical and analytical studies have been mainly focused on experimental data to correlate of mechanical properties of PFRSCC materials. Statistical results revealed that compressive, splitting tensile, and flexural strengths as well as impact resistance follow the normal distribution. Moreover, to correlate mechanical properties based on acquired test results, linear and nonlinear equations were developed among mechanical properties and impact resistance of PFRSCC materials.

In recent years, problems of industrial solid wastes appear to be kind of national crises, caused by a sudden increase in their quantities, lack of disposal technique, and public discontent in installing plants for their disposal. This study is designed to investigate that pozzolana-based materials, such as blast furnace slag, fly-ash, paper sludge-ash, which are produced from industries as solid wastes, can be used as construction materials. The variations of concrete strength in function of compositional differences of raw materials including the wastes are studied experimentally. As a result, we find out that the blast furnace slag, the fly-ash, and the paper sludge-ash can be recycled as useful resources for replacement of cements by adjusting their substitution ratio.

Ever since man learnt to build homes and cities around 10,000 years ago, clay materials has undoubtedly been one of the most widely-used construction materials in the world. However, the clay has poor strength, water resistance and durability, thus being limitedly used as calcined clay after being calcined. Pozzolan materials is to improve the strength and the durability of concrete as a result of the pozzolanic reaction. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyzes ingredient about clay mineral about Chung-buk area 10 places and to examine the application of clay minerals for the concrete admixtures.

Most concrete is recently made of an aggregate which is properly absorbed, and carried in it in order to do capability at every fields. We have been close to demand new capability of high flowing and enduring for specific concretes. That is difficult to cope with claiming the efficiency on deterioration from lack of a high quality aggregate. Therefore, For solving the problems we apply to a packing method for using dried materials. That is to say it is a kind of making into an instant. In this study, There is a purpose to present fundamental data, comparing and analyzing a phenomenon about aggregate's absorption following the rate of adding water, for using existing materials.

High-rise building in modern society is becoming increasingly necessary to reduce the weight of the building. Accordingly, increased use of lightweight bubble concrete is a trend Porous ceramics (ALC) is the most common, lightweight bubble concrete. And it is by lightweight blocks the same used as building materials. This research is related to the physical characteristics of ALC controlled by particle size and contents of raw materials.

Recently, water treatment facility is usually eastablished in underground, and waterproofing and anti-corrosion materials for concrete structures applied water treatment tank is developing in various ways. However, as the limit of research focused on durability improvement of top coating material, it is insufficient to study on the adhesion strength between the concrete surface and primer. Therefore, there is to confirm the adhesion of between concrete surface and the three primers used as anti-corrosion waterproofing materials, and to investigate the properties of adhesion strength according to the condition such as wet codition and water pressure condition of the concrete surface in this study.

In order to extend the life time of building and civil infra-structure, nowadays, patch type carbon sheets are widely used as repairing meterials. Repaired concrete columns and beams with carbon sheets gain their stiffness and strength, but they lose toughness and show brittle failure behaviors. Usually, the cracks of concrete structures are visible with naked eyes and the status of the structure in the life cycle is estimated with visible inspection. After repairing of the structure, crack visibility is blocked by repaired carbon sheets. Therefore, structural monitoring after repairing is indispensible and self diagnosis method with optical fiber sensor is very useful. In this paper, peel-out effects is detected with optical fiber sensors and the strain difference between main structure and repaired carbon sheets when they separate each other.

In this study, a numerical simulation that can effectively predict the interfacial fracture behavior in repaired structures is developed using the axial deformation link elements. In repaired structures, concrete and interface are considered as quais-brittle materials, and steel plate as a repair material and reinforcement are modeled as elasto-plastic materials. The behavior of repaired reinforced concrete structures under flexural loading conditions is numerically simulated, and compaired with experimental results. The strengthening effect according to the length and thickness of the repair material is studied and rip-off, debonding and rupture failure mechanism of interface between substrate and repair materials are detected. It is shown that the interface properties affect on the mechanical behavior of repaired structures. Therefore, the developed numerical method using axial deformation link elements can be used for determining the strengthening effects and failure mechanism of repaired structures.

In this study, the shielding properties of concrete with conductive materials as shielding material for electromagne- tic pulse(EMP) within 10kHz~18GHz were investigated. The shielding effectiveness of specimens were compared with different entrained materials. The shielding effectiveness were determined according to MIL-STD-188-125-1, IEEE-STD-299 at 28 days of concrete curing. The results of shielding effectiveness did not meet the criteria(80dB) severely.
