지구적 변화와 지구화 시대의 해양 다양성 (Managing Ocean Diversity in Global Change and Globalisation)

  • 1972년 UN회의에서 해양 보호를 위한 활동이 고무되기 시작한 이후. 유효한 생태적 관점으로 해양을 고려하고, 문화와 생태계의 상호작용 방식을 탐구하기 위한 다양한 노력들이 있어왔다. 이로 인해 무엇보다 다양성의 개념이 주요 요소로 등장하게 되었다. 대표적으로 기후 변화와 지구화 과정의 연관 효과는 생태적, 경제적, 문화적 다양성을 강화하고, 해양 다양성에서 이 세 요소 사이의 피드백 과정을 가져올 것이다. 이러한 전지구적 과정을 다루기 위해, 데카르트적인 근대 인식론은 전혀 다른 원칙에 기반한 새로운 인식론으로 대체되어야 한다. 이러한 관점은 생태적 체계와 문화 체계로 구성된 이중 모듈의 체계를 고려하며, 이 둘의 상호작용을 중시한다. 새로운 다양성을 기반으로 한 접근법은 두 가지 주요 상호작용을 중시한다. 첫째, 생산적 상호작용은 본질적으로 생태계와 문화 모두의 다양성을 최대화하는 양의 피드백을 구성한다. 둘째. 반면에 위협적인 상호작용에서는 기후변화와 그 결과들과 같은 자연의 힘이나, 지구화와 같은 사회적 힘들은 자연과 문화 모두를 위협한다는 것이다.

고령화 문제의 해결법으로서 디지털 에이징 정책에 대한 탐색적 연구 (A Exploratory Study on the Digital Aging Policies as Solutions for a Aging Society)

  • 고령화는 우리나라가 반드시 해결해야 하는 국가적 과제이다. 세계 각국은 고령화에 대응하여 활동적 노화, 생산적 노화, 성공적 노화, 웰 에이징(Well Aging), 항노화 등 새로운 개념을 통해 고령화 문제에 대응하고 있다. 이 논문은 고령화에 대응하는 새로운 개념으로서 디지털 에이징(Digital Aging)의 새로운 개념을 제시하고서 이에 근거한 새로운 고령화정책의 방향과 정책영역에 대해 모색하는 것이 목적이다. 디지털 에이징은 아직 학술적으로 정립되지 않은 개념이기에 문헌 분석방법을 통해 연구하였다. 병약, 보호, 의존 등 노화에 대한 부정적인 관점을 탈피하여 학습 활동 생산 참여하는 노인의 상을 형성하는데 있어서 디지털 기술을 어떻게 도입할 것인지를 목표로 삼고서 노인들의 4가지 특징인 질병, 외로움, 사회적 역할 감소, 빈곤에 대하여 적용 가능한 디지털 정책을 탐색적으로 모색했다. 이 연구는 고령화와 함께 대두되고 있는 제4차 산업혁명의 요체인 디지털 기술을 적용하여 고령화의 대안을 국내에서 처음으로 제시한다는 점에 의의가 있다. 향후 디지털 기술과 서비스를 고령화 문제에 직접 적용하여 효과성을 검증하는 절차가 필요하다.

"서울 1000년 타임캡슐광장" 설계안 (A Design Proposal for the Time Capsule Plaza of Seoul's 1000 Years)

  • In November of 1994, The Seoul Metropolitan Government celebrates its sixth centennial anniversary of becoming the capital city of Korea. In celebration of this anniversary, the Government decided to construct a plaza and sought design proposals in March of 1994. The authors collaborated on a design for the Time Capsule Plaza Competition and won fourth place among twenty-six entries. In the authors' design, the traditional oriental concept of time resonates within the site through the shape of a clock, a unique planting style, and an "Ancestral Tomb" which has a time capsule inside. The plaza is meant to be a symbol of the passage of time, the cycles of nature, and the repetitive actions of man. As for the spatial composition of the plaza, in accordance with the traditional Korean way of spatial arrangement, the plaza is divided into three parts: entry, primary, and secondary spaces. In reality, the plaza is created with the primary goal of providing modern outdoor space for people to rest and gather through the creation of pleasant environments and the introduction of traditional Korean garden elements.

Improvement of Surface Integrity in Hard Turning With Sensitivity Analysis of Cutting Parameter

  • This paper presents study of effects of cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut on the surface roughness in hard turning. Taguchi Method and linear regression model of design parameters were utilized to identify the controlling process parameters that can monitor the surface roughness in the hard turning operation. In the process optimization, experimental planning was performed using the orthogonal array and concept of the signal-to-noise ratio. Cutting parameters such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut were selected as process parameters and the ANOVA analysis showed that feed rate and cutting speed had more effect on the roughness variation that depth of cut.

  • In this article, We explained the historical origin and significance of decimal fraction, and draw some educational implications based on that. In general, it is accepted that decimal fraction was first invented by a Belgian man, Simon Stevin(1548-1620). In short, the idea of infinite decimal fraction refers to the ratio of the whole quantity to a unit. Stevin's idea of decimal fraction is significant for the history of mathematics in that it broke through the limit of Greek mathematics which separated discrete quantity from continuous quantity, and number from magnitude, and it became the origin of modern number concept. H. Eves chose the invention of decimal fraction as one of the "Great moments of mathematics."The method of teaching decimal fraction in our school mathematics tends to emphasize the computational aspect of decimal fraction too much and ignore the conceptual aspect of it. In teaching decimal fraction, like all the other areas of mathematics, the conceptual aspect should be emphasized as much as the computational aspect.al aspect.

A Case Report of the Angiosarcoma Involving Epicranial Muscle and Fascia : Is the Occipitofrontalis Muscle Composed of Two Different Muscles?

  • The occipitofrontalis muscle is generally regarded as one muscle composed of two muscle bellies joined through the galea aponeurotica. However, two muscle bellies have different embryological origin, anatomical function and innervations. We report a case of angiosarcoma of the scalp in a 63-year-old man whose MR showed that the superficial fascia overlying the occipital belly becomes the temporoparietal fascia and ends at the superior end of the frontal belly. Beneath the superficial fascia, the occipital belly of the occipitofrontalis muscle becomes the galea aponeurotica and inserts into the underside of the frontal belly. The presented case report supported the concept of which the occipitofrontalis muscle appears to be composed of two anatomically different muscles.

  • The quality of the environment, both natural and man-made, has unlimited influence on people's behavior and their physical and psychological well being. Interior designers shaped the indoor environment in which people live, work, perform day-to-day tasks and rest. Since designers affect a society's sensitivity and thinking, the aesthetics and ethics of the designs must respond to the most burning environmental issues of the contemporary world. This awareness is especially important now, at this critical time in the life of our planet, when humanity is facing twin catastrophes: natural resources depletion and environmental degradation. Under this concept, the purpose of this study is to configure what kind of design is ecologic and sustainable design and how we can develop ecological design as focusing on natural ventilation, natural lighting, uses of recycled materials, application of Indoor landscaping and architectural forms through several existing cases of the ecological office building.

  • The grounding of an electrical system is one of the essential elements for public safety. Domestic practice of grounding system design has been to get grounding resistance values which are classified by facilities or equipment in the regulations. But the concept of grounding system design of IEC is, as a main factor of safety index, to consider touch voltage and step voltage instead of the resistance value itself. Recently IEC actively develops or revises safety related standards which are essential for the grounding system performance. In this paper, we present the recent trend of the international standards on the safety criteria for Electric Shock Protection.
