  • SGML(ISO 8879) has been proliferated to support various document styles and to transfer documents into different platforms. SGML documents have logical structure information in addition to contents. As SGML documents are widely used, there is an increasing need for database storage and retrieval system using the logical structure of documents. However. traditional search engines using document indexes cannot exploit the logical structure. In this Paper, we have developed an SGML document storage system, which is DTD-independent and store the document type and the document instance separately by using Grove which is the document model for DSSSL and HyTime. We have used the Object Store, an object-oriented DBMS, to store the structure information appropriately without any loss of structural information. Also, we have supported a index structure for search efficiency like the relational DBMS, and constructed an effective user interface which combines content-based search with structure-based search.

  • In this paper, high-speed ,large-capacity ATM switching-chip is developed by MCM technology. MCM technology is suited for light-weight portable communications, mobile computing, high-frequency applications. For test of the developed MCM switching-chips, the simulating model is made by VHDL code of previously developed chip and input-output values of modeling pattern are obtained through the simulation. After the pattern values in chip-test machine are inserted , their results are compared with the simulation results. The design in this paper is simulated by synopsys design tool using SUN workstation and functions of chip is measured by TRILLIUM machine. Simulated and measured results have been compared, showing close agreement. Last, the MCM technique presented in this paper will provide useful insight into future designs.

  • Maritime industry is affected by outside factors significantly due to its derivative demand characteristics. However, the supply side can not react to these changes immediately and due to this uniqueness, maritime industry repeats the boom-bust cycle. Therefore the government itself needs to operate early warning system in order to monitor the market and notice the upcoming risks by setting up a system to prepare for the situations. In this research, signal approach is used to establish early warning system. Overall leading index is composed of crisis index that is based on BDI(Baltic Dry Index) and various leading indexes such as finance, economy, shipping and the others. As a result of computing overall leading index which is early warning system in maritime through signal approach, the index showed a high correlation coefficient with actual maritime risk index by difference of 4 months. Also, the result was highly accurate with overall leading index's QPS(Quadratic Probability Score) at 0.37.

  • Tester Interface Software (TIS) provides all software functions that are necessary for a testing device to perform the test process on a memory semiconductor package from the time the device is put into the test equipment until the device is discharged from the equipment. TIS should perform the same work over all types of equipment regardless of their tester models. However, TIS has been developed and managed independently of the tester models because there are various equipment and computer models that are used in the test process. Therefore, more maintenance, time and cost are required for development, which adversely affects the quality of the software, and the problem becomes more serious when the new tester model is introduced. In this paper, we propose the Cross-platform Tester Interface Software (CTIS) framework, which can be integrated and operated on heterogeneous equipment and OSs.

  • In this paper, the design and implementation of an automatic reference-citation-mark attachment system are introduced. The system automatically attaches a citation mark to the end of a sentence in a technical document if the corresponding statement has a high similarity to another statement in the same document; simultaneously, the corresponding bibliographic data is automatically created from the cited-document information. In accordance with functional specifications, a Web-based, online service model and the development of its prototype system are proposed. The developed system can help in the elimination of unexpected plagiarism issues, and will alleviate the burdens of reference citation and reference-list creation for technical writers.

  • These days, much information is provided as a list of summaries through mobile services. In this regard, users consume information in which they are interested by observing the list and not by expressing their interest explicitly or implicitly through rating content or clicking links. Therefore, to appropriately model a user's interest, it is necessary to detect latent interest content. In this study, we propose a method for reasoning latent interest of a user by analyzing mobile content consumption logs of the user. Specifically, since erroneous reasoning will drastically degrade service quality, a unanimity ensemble method is adopted to maximize precision. In this method, an item is determined as the subject of latent interest only when multiple classifiers considering various aspects of the log unanimously agree. Accurate reasoning of latent interest will contribute to enhancing the quality of personalized services such as interest-based recommendation systems.

  • Previous low-energy time synchronization methods have mainly focused on reducing the number of transmission or reception packets. However, this paper proposes a method that reduces the percentage of time a node has to be awake (the duty cycle), assuming that a periodic sleep-wake cycle is used to conserve energy. Based on our experience with actual WSN devices, a system model is proposed, and the potential performance of the proposed method, with different parameter values, is analyzed. To further demonstrate the feasibility of our method, experiments were conducted using nine WSN devices in a $3{\times}3$ grid network topology. The results show the average synchronization error is 107.57 $\mu{s}$ in duty cycle 5% and synchronization period 10 sec, and 130 $\mu{s}$ in duty cycle 2.5% and synchronization period 20 sec.

  • The latest E-commerce sites provide personalized services to maximize user satisfaction for Internet user The collaborative filtering is an algorithm for personalized item real-time recommendation. Various supplementary methods are provided for improving the accuracy of prediction and performance. It is important to consider these two things simultaneously to implement a useful recommendation system. However, established studies on collaborative filtering technique deal only with the matter of accuracy improvement and overlook the matter of performance. This study considers representative attribute-neighborhood, recommendation textile set, and similarity grouping that are expected to improve performance to the recommendation agent system. Ultimately, this paper suggests empirical applications to verify the adequacy and the validity on this system with the development of Fashion Design Recommendation Agent System (FDRAS ).

  • The OpenGIS Consortium has proposed a new web-mapping technology to support interoperability in web GIS environment by developing the specifications of MapServer and GML. In this environment, the MapServer transforms legacy spatial data into GML data, and clients display them on standard web browsers. This web-mapping testbed proposes methods for discovering, accessing, integrating and displaying GIS information except processing of spatial operations which are essential services in GIS environment. This paper proposes the method for executing spatial operations on GML data which are overlays of different map layers in legacy data servers. To support spatial operations on GML data in web GIS environment, this paper designs and implements GDOM based on the W3C's DOM Specifications and OGC's Simple Features Specifications. This paper shows the specifications and implementation of GDOM and the process of spatial operations in web-mapping testbed environment.

  • Group key agreement protocols are designed to provide a group of parties securely communicating over a public network with a session key. The mobile computing architecture is asymmetric in the sense of computational capabilities of participants. That is, the protocol participants consist of the stationary server(application servers) with sufficient computational Power and a cluster of mobile devices(clients) with limited computational resources. It is desirable to minimize the amount of computation performed by each group member in a group involving low-power mobile devices such as smart cards or personal digital assistants(PDAs). Furthermore we are required to update the group key with low computational costs when the members need to be excluded from the group or multiple new members need to be brought into an existing group. In this paper, we propose a dynamic group key protocol which offers computational efficiency to the clients with low-power mobile devices. We compare the total communicative and computational costs of our protocol with others and prove its suity against a passive adversary in the random oracle model.
