Situation-awareness White Cane Using a Mobile Device (모바일기기를 이용한 상황인식-흰지팡이)

  • A white cane is used by many people who are blind or visually impaired. The studies and developments in the field of smart electronic white cane have been progressed to improve walking safety of the visually handicapped person. In this paper, we describe a situation-awareness white cane which support and guide walking of the visually handicapped person by giving information of surrounding situation through connection of a white cane and a mobile device. There are easily accessible buttons in the situation-awareness white cane. These buttons is connected with the mobile device by blue-tooth, so by pushing these buttons, the visually handicapped person can receive sound-guidance. As a result, the visually handicapped person can walk more safely by getting more information of situation.

  • As the number of exchange in various fields between countries increases, the number of international conference increases. Many students study simultaneous interpretation due to the increased demand of simultaneous interpretation. Since simultaneous interpretation requires a lot of learning time, students majoring in translation perform the self learning. The paper based sight translation training system is a representative self learning method, but backtracking decreases the efficiency of self learning and it requires the help of the partner. To improve the learning efficiency, computer based sight translation training system has been proposed. However, since students uses the computer based sight translation training system only in a fixed area due to low mobility of computer, the utilization of the system decreases. In this paper, smart device based sight translation training system has been proposed to increase the utilization of the proposed system. Since smart device has lower computing capabilities than the computer, we have proposed algorithms to deal with the low performance. We implement and evaluate the functionalities of the proposed training system.

  • It is currently associated with the increase in smart home devices. So they are getting a lot IoT platform for managing and integrating these devices. However, existing platforms lack the firmware management for each device. In this paper, We will make easier the management of firmware, using a technique called POTA. This technology is a technology that allows you to update the firmware using a wireless internet without a computer and Utilizing the TR-069 protocol, we propose a system for controlling each device in CPE.

  • As the number of households with companion animals increases, the demand to monitor the health of companion animals in remote locations far away is increasing. We are going to put a wearable device on a companion animal so that it can monitor the heart beat signal from a remote location. However, the monitoring method using Bluetooth has some disadvantages. it can be accessed only in a short distances. In case of WiFi, large power consumption is the problem. To overcome these issues, we propose a system to reduce power consumption by indirectly receiving a user's request using Bluetooth at a time when the user does not need it, and sending sensor data through WiFi when the user makes a monitoring request.

  • To spread the incredible experience of wandering around a building, we propose the architecture of indoor navigation system based on inter-floor. Firstly, we combine trilateration method with Fingerprint Positioning Algorithm for positioning and Dijkstra Algorithm for calculating paths. Then the system can get the user's current locations and provide relevant paths according to the user's choice. Moreover, it can also provide the navigation path which takes the inter-floor information into consideration. It breaks the traditional navigation based on planar graph and has abundant business value.

  • 본 논문에서는 반려동물용 산소포화도 측정 웨어러블 장치를 설계하고 구현하였다. 기존 장치들은 움직이는 반려동물들의 SPO2를 측정하는데에는 방법이 어렵거나 측정 오류가 발생하여 불편한 점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 점을 개선하고 수의학적으로 측정 부위에 대한 새로운 위치를 찾아 가능한 형태의 웨어러블을 설계·구현하고 그 성능을 보였다.

  • Recently, the concept of mobile content service has changed from providing unilaterally contents for single-device to providing same contents for multi-device. This service should be able to provide diverse contents for multi-devices without platform and specification of multi-device. In this study, we propose a bridge technique of heterogeneous smart platform supporting social immersive game. It is possible to access social immersive game by using a multi-platform bridge. To achieve this, we explain techniques of device connection and data transmission between heterogeneous devices using server-client structure and UPnP. It provides an immersive game environment for multi-user, which is able to play in a public place using big screen.

  • Carbon-nanotube metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (CN-MOSFET) is a promising future device candidate. The electrical characteristics of 16 nm N-type CN-MOSFETs are explored in this paper. The optimum N-type CN-MOSFET device profiles with different number of tubes are identified for achieving the highest on-state to off-state current ratio ($I_{on}/I_{off}$). The influence of substrate voltage on device performance is also investigated in this paper. Tradeoffs between subthreshold leakage current and overall switch quality are evaluated with different substrate bias voltages. Technology development guidelines for achieving high-speed, low-leakage, area efficient, and manufacturable carbon nanotube integrated circuits are provided.

  • This paper presents a development of interface device for electro-oculogram(EOG) signal and it's application to the wireless mouse of wearable PC. The interface device is composed of five bio-electrodes for detecting oculomotor motion, several band-pass filters, instrumentation amplifier and a microprocessor. we have first analyzed impedance characteristics between skin and a bio-electrode. since the impedance highly depends on human face, it's magnitude differs from person. this interface device was applied to develop a wireless mouse for wearable PC, as a Bio Machine Interface(BMI). Where in the prompt on PC monitor is controlled by only EOG signals. this system was implemented in a Head Mount Display(HMD) unit. experimental results show the accuracy of above 90%.

A Robust Mutual Authentication between User Devices and Relaying Server(FIDO Server) using Certificate Authority in FIDO Environments

  • Recently, Biometrics is being magnified than ID or password about user authentication. However, unlike a PIN, password, and personal information there is no way to modify the exposure if it is exposed and used illegally. As FIDO(Fast IDentity Online) than existing server storing method, It stores a user's biometric information to the user device. And the user device authentication using the user's biometric information, the user equipment has been used a method to notify only the authentication result to the server FIDO. However, FIDO has no mutual authentication between the user device and the FIDO server. We use a Certificate Authority in order to mutually authenticate the user and the FIDO server. Thereby, we propose a more reliable method and compared this paper with existed methods about security analysis.
