In rock mass subject to high in-situ stresses, the failure process of rock is dominated by the stress-induced fractures growing parallel to the excavation boundary. When the ratio of in situ stresses compared to rock strength is greater than a certain value, progressive brittle failure which is characterized by popping and spatting of rock debris occurs due to stress concentration. Traditional constitutive model like Mohr-Coulomb usually assume that the normal stress dependent frictional strength component and the cohesion strength component are constant, therefore modelling progressive brittle failure will be very difficult. In this study, a series of numerical analyses were conducted for surrounding rock mass near crude oil storage cavern using CW-FS model which was known to be efficient for modelling brittle failure and the results were compared with those of linear Mohr-Coulomb model. Further analyses were performed by varying plastic shear strain limits on cohesion and internal friction angle to find the proper values which yield the matching result with the observed failure in the oil storage caverns. The obtained results showed that CW-FS model could be a proper method to characterize essential behavior of progressive brittle failure in competent rock mass.
Due to the low strength and high compressibility characteristics, the loess deposits tunnels are prone to large deformations and collapse. An accurate stability evaluation for loess deposits is of considerable significance in deformation control and safety work during tunnel construction. 37 groups of representative data based on real loess deposits cases were adopted to establish the stability evaluation model for the tunnel project in Yan'an, China. Physical and mechanical indices, including water content, cohesion, internal friction angle, elastic modulus, and poisson ratio are selected as index system on the stability level of loess. The data set is randomly divided into 80% as the training set and 20% as the test set. Firstly, principal component analysis (PCA) is used to convert the five index system to three linearly independent principal components X1, X2 and X3. Then, the principal components were used as input vectors for probabilistic neural network (PNN) to map the nonlinear relationship between the index system and stability level of loess. Furthermore, Leave-One-Out cross validation was applied for the training set to find the suitable smoothing factor. At last, the established model with the target smoothing factor 0.04 was applied for the test set, and a 100% prediction accuracy rate was obtained. This intelligent classification method for loess deposits can be easily conducted, which has wide potential applications in evaluating loess deposits.
When enforced earth is used for the retain wall and four walls, the most important thing would be how to maximize the land utilization. Accordingly, in case of enforced earth, we pile up the minimal height of earth ($20{\sim}50\;cm$) and harden the earth using a static dynamic hardening machine. In this paper, we tried to analyze and compare the stress transformation characteristics of reinforced weathered granite soil with geosynthetics when repetitive load is added to the enforced earth structure and when static load is added. The result is that the cohesion component of the strength increased greatly and the friction component decreased slightly.

The nature of genetic variation and diversity among the 65 multivoltine silkworm genotypes was evaluated for 16 post cocoon characters. The components of genetic variation revealed higher PCV (60.487%) and GCV (44.56%) for evenness (variation 1) followed by cohesion (PCV=55.38%, GCV=40.36%) and non-broken filament length (PCV=32.05%, GCV=31.28%). The higher heritability ($h^2$ in broad sense) was observed for boil-off loss (95.6%) followed by non-broken filament length (95.22%). The both genotypic and phenotypic correlation indicated significant positive correlation of filament length with non-broken filament length, silk recovery, raw silk, neatness, and low neatness; and negative correlation with denier, renditta and silk waste. The principal component analysis (PCA) revealed 75.381 % of total variance from the five principal components extracted. On the basis of Mahalonobis' $D^2$ values (Ward's minimum variance), the sixty-five multivoltine silkworm genotypes were classified in to 9 clusters with substantial inter and intra cluster distances. Number of genotypes included in different clusters varied from 3 to 17. The results indicated that the optimum distance obtained in cluster VII (15.059) along with higher cluster mean values especially for filament length, non broken filament length, renditta, silk recovery, silk waste, and raw silk emphasized the utilization of these genotypes in the conventional silkworm breeding programme for improvement of multivoltine silk fibre quality. The possibility of exploiting genetic variation in post cocoon traits for efficient breeding programme is discussed.

Flowable fill is generally a mixture of sand, fly ash, a small amount of cement and water. Sand is the major component of most flowable fill with waste materials. Various materials, including two waste foundry sands(WFS), an anti-corrosive waste foundry sand and natural soil, were used as a fine aggregate in this study. Natural sea sand was used for comparison. The flow behavior, hardening characteristics, and ultimate strength behavior of flowable fill were investigated. The unconfined compression test necessary to sustain walkability as the fresh flowable fill hardens was determined and the strength at 28-days appeared to correlate well with the water-to-cement ratio. The strength parameters, like cohesion and internal friction angle, were determined for the samples prepared by different curing times. The creep test for settlement potential was conducted. The data presented show that by-product foundry sand, an anti-corrosive WFS, and natural soil can be successfully used in controlled low strength materials(CLSM), and it provides similar or better properties to that of CLSM containing natural sea sand.
It is important to preempt new technology because the technology competition is getting much tougher. Stakeholders conduct exploration activities continuously for new technology preoccupancy at the right time. Gartner's Hype Cycle has significant implications for stakeholders. The Hype Cycle is a expectation graph for new technologies which is combining the technology life cycle (S-curve) with the Hype Level. Stakeholders such as R&D investor, CTO(Chef of Technology Officer) and technical personnel are very interested in Gartner's Hype Cycle for new technologies. Because high expectation for new technologies can bring opportunities to maintain investment by securing the legitimacy of R&D investment. However, contrary to the high interest of the industry, the preceding researches faced with limitations aspect of empirical method and source data(news, academic papers, search traffic, patent etc.). In this study, we focused on two research questions. The first research question was 'Is there a difference in the characteristics of the network structure at each stage of the hype cycle?'. To confirm the first research question, the structural characteristics of each stage were confirmed through the component cohesion size. The second research question is 'Is there a pattern of diffusion at each stage of the hype cycle?'. This research question was to be solved through centralization index and network density. The centralization index is a concept of variance, and a higher centralization index means that a small number of nodes are centered in the network. Concentration of a small number of nodes means a star network structure. In the network structure, the star network structure is a centralized structure and shows better diffusion performance than a decentralized network (circle structure). Because the nodes which are the center of information transfer can judge useful information and deliver it to other nodes the fastest. So we confirmed the out-degree centralization index and in-degree centralization index for each stage. For this purpose, we confirmed the structural features of the community and the expectation diffusion patterns using Social Network Serice(SNS) data in 'Gartner Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2021'. Twitter data for 30 technologies (excluding four technologies) listed in 'Gartner Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2021' were analyzed. Analysis was performed using R program (4.1.1 ver) and Cyram Netminer. From October 31, 2021 to November 9, 2021, 6,766 tweets were searched through the Twitter API, and converting the relationship user's tweet(Source) and user's retweets (Target). As a result, 4,124 edgelists were analyzed. As a reult of the study, we confirmed the structural features and diffusion patterns through analyze the component cohesion size and degree centralization and density. Through this study, we confirmed that the groups of each stage increased number of components as time passed and the density decreased. Also 'Innovation Trigger' which is a group interested in new technologies as a early adopter in the innovation diffusion theory had high out-degree centralization index and the others had higher in-degree centralization index than out-degree. It can be inferred that 'Innovation Trigger' group has the biggest influence, and the diffusion will gradually slow down from the subsequent groups. In this study, network analysis was conducted using social network service data unlike methods of the precedent researches. This is significant in that it provided an idea to expand the method of analysis when analyzing Gartner's hype cycle in the future. In addition, the fact that the innovation diffusion theory was applied to the Gartner's hype cycle's stage in artificial intelligence can be evaluated positively because the Gartner hype cycle has been repeatedly discussed as a theoretical weakness. Also it is expected that this study will provide a new perspective on decision-making on technology investment to stakeholdes.
Fault materials has various properties depending on their areas, rock types, and components because they are formed by heterogeneous and complicated mechanisms. In this study, to understand the physical and mechanical properties of fault materials, 109 fault materials distributed in South Korea were collected to conduct various laboratory tests with them and analyze their physical and mechanical properties (unit weight, specific gravity, porosity, gravel content, silt/clay content, clay mineral content, friction angle, and cohesion) according to areas, rock types, and components. As for the physical and mechanical properties by rock type, gneiss shows the highest medians in the unit weight ($17.1kN/m^3$) and specific gravity (2.73), granite does so in the porosity (45.5%), schist does so in the gravel content (20.0 wt.%) and cohesion (38.1 kPa), and phyllite does so in the silt/clay content (54.4 wt.%), clay mineral content (30.1 wt.%), and friction angle ($38.2^{\circ}$). With regard to the physical and mechanical properties by component, fault gouge was shown to have lower values than cataclasite and damage zones in all factors other than porosity and silt/clay contents.
The study is to analyze the value of satisfaction of instructional process to university students and to verify the relationship between the factors that how students make the team for class activity and instructional effect. According to this, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of lecture-based instruction and the project-based learning and verify the component factor of project-based learning so that this study can suggest various ways to participate in classes actively. For this study, the students participating in the classes from this researcher were selected and it was analyzed with quantitative and qualitative research. The qualitative research was in progress for 15 weeks class from September to December 2019 and the survey was done at the last day of 15 weeks class and project. Frequency, difference, correlation and regression analysis were conducted through SPSS 23.0 with 80 copies of the questionnaire. The result of this study, at first, the instructional effect and satisfaction of satisfaction on project-based learning is higher than teacher-centered instruction. Second, the team cohesion and team-work is giving a huge impact on instructional effect and satisfaction. At last, project-based leaning makes students participate in the class. Enjoy and satisfy in the course of class participation regardless of the result. Based on these findings, we are looking for the ways to use the project-based leaning and provide the objective data for the planning and production of class program to improve the effectiveness of the class. In addition, we discussed the implications and limitations of this study as well.
Software design patterns are reusable solutions to recurring problems that occur during software development. As programmers gain experience, they recognize the similarity of new problems to problems they have solved before. With even more experience, they recognize that solutions for similar problems follow recurring patterns. In this paper, as one of these reusable design-patterns, the Intermediator pattern for the efficient communication between business component is designed and implemented. Existent business components were way that follow Facade pattern. But Facade pattern is almost like the existing Interface pattern in that the communication of all the object outside the set is done by only one representative object, and this causes the traffic system to be overloaded. Therefore, the Intermediator pattern supplements the traffic overloads by improving the inefficient system of business components' communication through multi-interface, and make all communication behavior between objects done by Intermediator object which controls all actual behavior by way of Intermediator method implementation. Consequently, the Intermediator pattern is designed and implemented in this paper can bring down the level of coupling and raise the cohesion among objects, and refer to many of other object flexibly through several interfaces.

Today, the scale of the computer software market has increased, and massive sized software has been developed to satisfy diverse requirements. In this context, software complexity is increasing and the quality of software is becoming more difficult to manage. In particular, software reuse is important for the improvement of the environments of legacy systems and new system development. In this paper, we propose a method to reuse modules that are certified by quality. Reusable levels are divided into code area (method, class, and component), project domain, and business levels. Based on the coupling and cohesion of software complexity, we propose a reusable module extraction mechanism with reusability metrics, which constructs a visualization of the "reusable module's chunk" based on the method and class levels. By applying reverse engineering to legacy projects, it is possible to identify reusable modules/objects/chunks. If these modules/objects/chunks are to be reused to develop an extension system or similar new system, we need to ensure software reliability in order to reduce the time and cost of software development.
