  • 유비궈터스 컴퓨팅을 실현하기 위한 핵심 기술인 자동식별, 센서 네트워크, 홈 네트워크, 텔레매틱스 등 다양한 분야에서 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히 RFID 기술을 이용한 기존 솔루션과의 통합 및 데이터 수집, 제어, 관리 등을 지원하는 RFID 미들웨어의 중요성에 대한 인식이 확산되고 있다. 한편 EPCglobal에서는 기존의 Savant를 대체하는 개념으로서 RFID 하드웨어와 응용 사이에 존재하는 ALE(Application Level Events) 표준 스펙을 정의하였다. 이는 레이어의 내부 구조 및 구현 기술 등은 명시하지 않고 오직 외부 인터페이스만을 정의함으로써 향후 상호 운용성 및 표준 적합성 검증을 용이하게 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 ALE 스펙에 기반하여 RFID 데이터를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 RFID 미들웨어를 제안한다.

지상파/케이블 데이터방송 재전송 서비스를 위한 PMCP 기반 PSIP 변환기 (PSIP Converter based on PMCP for Terrestrial/Cable Data Broadcasting Retransmission Service)

  • 본 논문은 디지털방송 서비스의 필수 기술 요소이고 디지털방송 전환과 밀접하게 관련 있는 PSIP 응용 기술인 디지털방송 표준 인터페이스로 표준화된 PMCP(Program Metadata Control Protocol) 인터페이스 규격과, 이를 이용하여 구현된 지상파/케이블 데이터방송 재전송 서비스를 위한 PSIP 변환기의 구조 및 주요 기능에 대해서 기술한다. 본 논문의 PSIP 변환기는 지상파/케이블 데이터방송 재전송 서비스 환경하에서 디지털 지상파 데이터방송 콘텐츠를 디지털 케이블 데이터방송에 재사용하여 데이터방송 콘텐츠 활용도를 높일 뿐만 아니라 실시간 채널 정보 변경 및 방송 프로그램 이벤트 정보 변경만으로 지상파 방송프로그램 안내 정보를 쉽게 재활용/관리할 수 있다. 또한 저장/관리된 방송프로그램 안내 정보를 ATSC T3/Sl에서 표준화한 PMCP 규격을 이용하여 XML형태로 케이블 시스템(OOB SI, Out Of Band Service Information)으로 전송하거나, MPEG-2 전송스트림 형태로 전송할 수도 있다.

맥동유동하에 있는 유연성 있는 평판 사이의 벽면전단응력: 벽면운동과 임피던스 페이즈 앵글과 비뉴턴유체의 영향 (Wall Shear Stress Between Compliant Plates Under Oscillatory Flow Conditions: Influence of Wall Motion, Impedance Phase Angle and Non-Newtonian Fluid)

  • The present study investigates flow dynamics between two dimensional compliant plates under sinusoidal flow conditions in order to understand influence of wall motion, impedance phase angle (time delay between pressure and flow waveforms), and non-Newtonian fluid on wall shear stress using computational fluid dynamics. The results showed that wall motion induced additional terms in the streamwise velocity profile and the pressure gradient. These additional terms due to wall motion reduced the amplitude of wall shear stress and also changed the mean wall shear stress. The trend of the changes was very different depending on the impedance phase angle. As the impedance phase angle was changed to more negative values, the mean wall shear stress decreased while the amplitude of wall shear stress increased. As the phase angle was reduced from 0°to -90°under $\pm$4% wall motion, the mean wall shear stress decreased by 12% and the amplitude of wall shear stress increased by 9%. Therefore, for hypertensive patients who have large negative phase angles, the ratio of amplitude and mean of the wall shear stress is raised resulting in a more vulnerable state to atherosclerosis according to the low and oscillatory shear stress theory. We also found that non-Newtonian characteristics of the blood protect atherosclerosis by decreasing the oscillatory shear index.

모델기반 설계를 통한 CBTC 차상장치 소프트웨어 개발 및 적용 (Development of CBTC Car-borne Software with Model-Based Design and Its Applications)

  • CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) car-borne equipment, a part of the communication based train control system, mainly consists of automatic train protection(ATP) functions, automatic train operation(ATO) functions as well as the interface functions with other equipment including CBTC wayside equipment and train control management system etc. The CBTC car-borne software implementing ATP/ATO functions is a real-time embedded software requiring a high level of safety and reliability. To satisfy the requirements of the CBTC car-borne software, the model-based design techniques are applied with SCADE(Safety-Critical Application Development Environment) to the development of the CBTC car-borne software. In this paper, we illustrate the process modeling the car-borne ATP/ATO functions satisfying system requirement specification with system requirement management, modeling and document generation tools etc. supported by SCADE. In addition, the developed models corresponding to the ATP/ATO functions are applied to the train with CBTC car-borne equipment through its corresponding EN-50128 standards-compliant C code generated by the code generator. It is shown from the test result that the ATP/ATO models developed by SCADE work well while the trains are running in driverless operation mode.

  • In modular fixturing systems, a given part or a subassembly is fixed by placing fixture elements such as locators and clamps adequately on a plate with a lattice of holes. It is known that the minimal number of point contacts to restrict translational and rotational motions on a plane is four and the type of three locators and a clamp(3L/1C) is the minimal future. Brost and Goldberg developed the complete algorithm to automatically synthesize 3L/1C types of fixtures which satisfy the condition of form closure. Due to the nature of the fixture, the clearance between the fixture and the part is extremely small. It is hard to load the part repeatedly and accurately for human as well as for robot. However the condition of loadability has not been taken into account in the B&G algorithm. In this paper, a new method to decide a given fixture to be loadable by using configuration space is proposed. A method to plan for a part to be loaded by using compliance safely even in the presence of control and sensing uncertainty is proposed is well.

Dietary Compliance among Men Participating in a Controlled feeding Study of fiber Supplementation

  • The study was undertaken to assess the degree to which subjects were compliant with a specific metabolic diet in a controlled outpatient feeding study. The study consisted of a two-week control period in which subjects consumed a control diet consisting of 38-40% fat, 18-20% protein, 40-42% carbohydrate, followed by a three-week experimental period during which each subject consumed the control diet plus one of the four fiber supplements(20g/4ay) assigned on a random basis on the trust day. All meals were prepared and eaten in a metabolic feeding laboratory, with the exception of Saturday and Sunday meals that were packed for take-out. Fifty-seven healthy adult men, aged 18-65 years participated in the study. Dietary compliance index(CI) defined as the percent deviation of actual consumption from the prescribed food's and unconsumed prepared foods. The CI reflected the additional 'non-prescribed foods' and unconsumed 'prescribed foods'. A CI was calculated for all subjects. A CI of 5% or more was defined as poor compliance. Overall, dietary compliance was substantially improved for the entire group over the course of the study. Significant increase in compliance far energy and macronutrient intake occurred between the baseline and experimental periods. Within a non-obese group, dietary compliance fir energy improved from 5.5% to 3.3% by the end of the study(week 1vs week 5, respectively, p<0.05). However, between non-obese and obese group, dietary compliance was not different. (Korean J Nutrition 31(5) : 957-964, 1998)

안정 파지를 위한 16자유도 역구동 관절을 가지는 인간형 로봇 손 개발 (Development of a 16 DOF Anthropomorphic Robot Hand with Back-Drivability Joint for Stable Grasping)

  • This paper focuses on a development of an anthropomorphic robot hand. Human hand is able to dexterously grasp and manipulate various objects with not accurate and sufficient, but inaccurate and scarce information of target objects. In order to realize the ability of human hand, we develop a robot hand and introduce a control scheme for stable grasping by using only kinematic information. The developed anthropomorphic robot hand, KITECH Hand, has one thumb and three fingers. Each of them has 4 DOF and a soft hemispherical finger tip for flexible opposition and rolling on object surfaces. In addition to a thumb and finger, it has a palm module composed the non-slip pad to prevent slip phenomena between the object and palm. The introduced control scheme is a quitely simple based on the principle of virtual work, which consists of transposed Jacobian, joint angular position, and velocity obtained by joint angle measurements. During interaction between the robot hand and an object, the developed robot hand shows compliant grasping motions by the back-drivable characteristics of equipped actuator modules. To validate the feasibility of the developed robot hand and introduced control scheme, collective experiments are carried out with the developed robot hand, KITECH Hand.

  • This paper presents a hardware development procedure of the ASB(Active Seat Belt) control system to comply with ISO 26262. The ASIL(Automotive Safety Integrity Level) of an ASB system is determined through the HARA(Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) and the safety mechanism is applied to meet the reqired ASIL. The hardware architecture of the controller consists of a microcontroller, H-bridge circuits, passive components, and current sensors which are used for the input comparison. The required ASIL for the control systems is shown to be satisfied with the safety mechanism by calculation of the SPFM(Single Point Fault Metric) and the LFM(Latent Fault Metric) for the design circuits.

  • This paper defines the electrical interfaces and limited items to integrate Ka-band communication payload on the satellite system, which includes the detailed interfaces such as bus voltage and data bus according to the related COMS requirements. And the BUS Electrical Interface Simulator introduces to use during the course of validating and accepting between the KA-Band payload and their EGSE. These interface design results are fully validated through the testing with the BEIS and is compliant with the satellite interface control interface requirements.

  • The paper describes MPEG-2 encoder system developed by ETRI. The encoder system consists of video encoder, audio encoder and program multiplexer. The system can be used as an SDTV encoder as well as a sub-picture encoding module of an HDTV encoder. In order to reduce the hardware size and increase the system reliability, most parts of the MPEG-2 encoding algorithm are implemented with ASIC chips except the rate control part. The developed system is compliant with MPEG-2 and ATSC.
