Preparation and Characterization of Nanofibrous Membranes of Poly(D,L-lactic acid)/Chitin Blend for Guided Tissue Regenerative Barrier

  • Nanofibrous membranes of poly(D,L-lactic acid)/chitin blend were prepared by electro spinning for a barrier of guided tissue regeneration. A miscible solution was obtained by the blending chitin-salt complex into 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone solution of poly(D,L-lactic acid). The properties of the blend were examined for nanofibrous fabrication. The viscosity of the blend solution was increased significantly due to chain entanglement despite the low ratio of chitin to poly(D,L-lactic acid). An interaction between two polymeric compositions was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction detected an appreciably ordered microstructure in the nanofiber of the blend. A membrane of thinner nanofibers was fabricated by electro spinning the chitin blend. The permeability of the membranes was examined using bioactive model compounds.

Effects of PP-g-MAH on the Mechanical, Morphological and Rheological Properties of Polypropylene and Poly(Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) Blends

  • The effects of maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene (PP-g-MAH) addition on polypropylene (PP) and poly(acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) (ABS) blends were studied. Blends of PP/ABS (70/30, wt%) with PP-g-MAH were prepared by a twin-screw extruder. From the results of mechanical testing, the impact, tensile and flexural strengths of the blends were maximized at a PP-g-MAH content 3 phr. The increased mechanical strength of the blends with the PP-g-MAH addition was attributed to the compatibilizing effect of the PP and ABS blends. In the morphological studies, the droplet size of ABS was minimized (6.6 ${\mu}m$) at a PP-g-MAH content of 3 phr. From the rheological examination, the complex viscosity was maximized at a PP-g-MAH content of 3 phr. These mechanical, morphological and rheological results indicated that the compatibility of the PP/ABS (70/30) blends is increased with PP-g-MAH addition to an optimum blend at a PP-g-MAH content of 3 phr.

복합폴리올 이용한 Top coat용 수분산 고분자 필름의 합성 및 물리적 특성 (A Physical Characteristics and Synthesis of Top Coat Polymeric Dispersion Film by Complex Polyol)

  • PPG와 PTMG의 몰비를 달리하면서 첨가하여 합성된 폴리우레탄 수지의 물리적 특성을 SEM, FT-IR, UTM을 이용하여 측정하였다. 본 연구를 통해 4개의 메틸렌기를 포함한 PTMG의 몰비가 증가함에 따라 내마모도(60.26 mg.loss), 인장강도($5.24kgf/mm^2$)가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 반대로 연신율(297 %)은 감소함을 확인 할 수 있었으며. 톨루엔을 이용한 내용제성 물성측정 결과로부터 PTMG의 반응 몰비 증가에 따른 물성 증감 효과는 없었다. 또한 PTMG의 몰비가 증가함에 따라 점도(4.8 cp)가 상승함을 확인 할 수 있었다.

Preparation and Properties of Waterborne-Polyurethane Coating Materials Containing Conductive Polyaniline

  • We have prepared an aqueous dispersion of poly(aniline-dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid complex) (PANI-DC) that has an intrinsic viscosity (〔η〕) near 1.3 dL/g using aniline as a monomer, dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid(DBSA) as a dopant/emulsifier, and ammonium peroxodisulfate(APS) as an oxidant. We found that the electrical conductivity of a PANI-DC pellet was 0.7 S/cm. A waterborne-polyurethane (WBPU) dispersion, obtained from isophorone diisocyanate/polytetramethylene oxide glycol/dimethylol propionic acid/ethylene diamine/triethylene amine, was used as a matrix polymer. We prepared blend films of WBPU/PANI-DC with variable weight ratios (from 99/1 to 66/34) by solution blending/casting and investigated the effects that the PANI-DC content has on the mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties, hardness, electrical conductivity, and antistaticity of these films. The tensile strength, percentage of elongation, and hardness of WBPU/PANI-DC blend films all decreased markedly upon increasing the PANI-DC content. The antistatic half-life time ($\tau$$\sub$$\frac{1}{2}$/) of pure WBPU film was about 110 s, but we found that those of WBPU/ultrasound-treated PANI-DC blend films decreased exponentially from 1.2 s to 0.1 s to almost 0 s upon increasing the PANI-DC content from 1 wt% to 15 wt% to > 15 wt%, respectively.

Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)/Zeolite Microporous Composite Film

  • The linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)/zeolite composite using novel inorganic filler, zeolite, is prepared by a conventional compounding procedure using a twin-screw extruder. The observed scanning electron microscopic (SEM) morphology shows a good dispersion and adhesion of zeolite in the LLDPE matrix. The mechanical properties in terms of the Young's modulus, the yield stress, the impact strength, and the elongation at break were enhanced with a successive increment of zeolite content up to 40 wt%. The X-ray diffraction measurement is of supportive for the improved mechanical properties and the complex melt viscosity is as well. Upon applying a certain level of strain on the composites, the dewetting, the air hole formation and its growth are characterized. The dewetting originates around the filler particles at low strain and induces elliptical micropores upon further stretching. The microporosity such as the aspect ratio, the number and the total area of the air holes is also characterized. Thus, the composites loaded 40 % zeolite and 300 % elongation may be applicable for breathable microporous films with improved modulus, impact and yield stress, elongation at break, microporosity and air hole properties.

  • 본 연구에서는 샴푸에 널리 사용되는 양이온성 폴리머 중, 양이온성 구아 폴리머를 선택적으로 사용하여, 다양한 성능평가를 통해 0.7 % 질소함량 이상의 치환도와 190~200 cps사이의 점도를 가지는 새로운 양이온성 구아 폴리머를 개발하였다. 성능평가로는 헹굼 시 모발 부드러움(Wet combing ability), 폴리머의 잔존정도와 실리콘의 흡착정도를 측정하였으며 최종적으로 관능평가를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 양이온성 구아 폴리머를 배합하면 샴푸 사용감을 최적화할 수 있을 것이다.

Dynamic Rheological Studies on Mixtures of Hot Pepper-Soybean Paste and Xanthan Gum

  • Dynamic rheological properties of hot pepper-soybean paste (HPSP) mixed with xanthan gum were evaluated at different gum concentrations (0.3, 0.6, and 0.9%) and fermentation times (12 and 24 week). Magnitudes of storage (G') and loss moduli (G") in the HPSP-xanthan gum mixture systems increased with an increase in frequency ($\omega$), while complex viscosity (${\eta}^*$) decreased. G' values were higher than the G" values over most of the frequency range (0.63-63 rad/sec), and were frequency-dependent. The dynamic moduli (G', G", and ${\eta}^*$) of the HPSP-xathan mixtures were lower than those of the control (0% gum). The differences between the dynamic moduli values at 12-week and 24-week fermentation decreased with increasing gum concentration, showing that xanthan gum can be used to stabilize and improve the viscoelastic rheological properties of HPSP. The G' value of the HPSP-xathan mixtures increased with an increase in gum concentration from 0.3 to 0.9%, whereas the G" decreased. The ability of xanthan gum to increase the elastic properties in the HPSP-xanthan mixture systems seemed to be the result of the incompatibility phenomena existing between xanthan gum and glutinous rice starch.

잠재적 화재.폭발 위험 지역 작업용 녹전환형 중방식 코팅제의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Properties of the Heavy Duty Rust-Converting Agent used in the Potential Hazard Areas of Fire & Explosion)

  • This study was concerned with the development of a heavy duty rust-converting agent, the function of which is to form metal complex coatings, containing vinyl halide-acrylic terpolymer emulsion, defoamer, emulsifying agent, glass flakes, chelating agent such as gallotannic acid, gallic acid, and pyrogallic acid, and other additives. The resulted emulsion products(Sample No.1~No.5) were characterized through test either in the forms of emulsions, which include Viscosity, Penetration rate, Acidity and Film drying rate test, or in the forms of coated layer on rusty steel substrates by FT-IR, which include hardness, gloss, salt spray, adhesion and flame retardant test. The test results are as follows ; Penetration rate(0.1~0.4 mm/min), Solid content(70%), Acidity (pH 1.8~2.0), Specific gravity(1.30~1.35), Film drying rate(108min, RH 40% ; 150min, RH 80%), Gloss(83~92, incident angle $60^{\circ}$; 88~97, incident angle $85^{\circ}$), Pencil hardness(4H~5H), Adhesion (100/100), Salt spray test(>720Hr), LOI(%) value(38%), Vertical burning test(UL 94-v-l). According to the various performance of specimens show above, the evaluation of the availability of this heavy duty rust-converting agent can be concluded that all the samples(No.1~No.5) are capable of being used in the field of chemical plant and in the hazard areas of fire and explosion potential. It was observed that the properties of sample No.2, especially gloss and hardness, were much better than that of the other samples.

고온전단분쇄기술을 이용한 재생/신재 니트릴고무(NBR) 블렌드물의 가황거동 및 물리적 특성 (Cure Behaviors and Physical Properties of Recycled/Virgin Nitrile Rubber (NBR) Blends by High Temperature Shear-Crushing Technique)

  • 니트릴고무(NBR) 신재와 작업현장에서 나온 스크랩을 고온 전단분쇄기술로 분말화한 재료(재생 NBR)를 다양한 혼합비로 블렌드물을 제조하고, 재생재료의 함량에 따른 블렌드물의 가황 거동, 물리적 특성의 변화를 조사하였다. 또한, 열 및 각종 유체에 대한 각 블렌드물의 저항성을 물리적 방법으로 조사하였다. 신재 NBR에 고온 전단 분쇄기술로 제조한 재생NBR을 0~50 phr의 함량으로 블렌드하여 가황거동 및 물리적 특성을 측정한 결과, 가황 거동은 점도가 증가하고 스코치 시간은 감소하였으며, 내열 및 유체특성은 향상되었다.

유전상수 센서를 이용한 유압 작동유의 분석을 위한 실험장비 개발 (Development of Experimental Device for Analysis of Hydraulic Oil Characteristics with Dielectric Constant Sensors)

  • An experimental device was developed for analysis of hydraulic oil characteristics with dielectric constant sensors. Online analysis is the most effective method of the three methods used for analyzing lubricant oils. This is because it can monitor the machine condition effectively using oil sensors in real time without requiring excellent analysis skill and eliminates human errors. Determining the oil quality usually requires complex laboratory equipment for measuring factors such as density, viscosity, base number, acid number, water content, additive, and wear debris. However, the electric constant is another indicator of oil quality that can be measured on-site. The electric constant is the ratio of the capacitance of a capacitor using that material as a dielectric, compared with a similar capacitor that has a vacuum as its dielectric. The electric constant affects the factors such as the base oil, additive, temperature, electric field frequency, water content, and contaminants. In this study, the tendency of the electric constant is investigated with a variation of temperature, water content, and dust weight. The experimental device can control working temperature and mix the contaminants with oil. A machine condition monitoring program developed to analyze hydraulic oil is described. This program provides graph and digital values with variation of time. Moreover, it includes an alarm system for when the oil condition is bad.
