Electrochemical Polymerization of Ruthenium(II) Complex and Application to Acetaminophen Analysis

  • A novel ruthenium(II) complex, [$RuCl_2(DMSO)_2$(PhenTPy)] has been synthesized by the condensation of $RuCl_2(DMSO)_4$ with (1-(1,10-phenanthrolinyl)-2,5-di(2-thienyl)-1H-pyrrole)[PhenTPy] in $CHCl_3$ solution. The [$RuCl_2(DMSO)_2$(PhenTPy)] complex modified electrode was fabricated through the electropolymerization of the monomer in a 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP)/$CH_2Cl_2$ solution, to take advantage of the electronic communication between metal ion center by the conjugated backbone. The UV-visible spectroscopy (UV), mass spectrometry (MS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV) were employed to characterize the [$RuCl_2(DMSO)_2$(PhenTPy)] complex and its polymer (poly-Ru(II)Phen complex). The poly-Ru(II)Phen complex modified electrode exhibited an electrocatalytic activity to the oxidation of acetaminophen and the catalytic property was used for the analysis of acetaminophen at the concentration range between 0.09 and 0.01 mM in a phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0).

Recent Progress in Luminescent Lanthanide Complexes for Advanced Photonics Applications

  • We have designed and developed novel luminescent lanthanide complexes for advanced photonics applications. Lanthanide(III) ions (Ln$^{3+}$) were encapsulated by the luminescent ligands such as metalloporphyrins and naphthalenes. The energy levels of the luminescent ligands were tailored to maintain the effective energy transfer process from luminescent ligands to Ln$^{3+}$ ions for getting a higher optical amplification gain. Also, key parameters for emission enhancement and efficient energy transfer pathways for the sensitization of Ln$^{3+}$ ions by luminescent ligands were investigated. Furthermore, to enhance the optophysical properties of novel luminescent Ln$^{3+}$ complexes, aryl ether-functionalized dendrons as photon antennas have been incorporated into luminescent Ln$^{3+}$ complexes, yielding novel Ln(III)-cored dendrimer complex. The novel Ln(III)-cored dendrimer complex has much higher PL intensity than the corresponding simple complex, due to the efficient site-isolation effect. In this article, we will deal with recent progress in the synthesis and photophysical studies of inert and stable luminescent Ln$^{3+}$ complexes for advanced photonics applications. Also, our review will include the exploratory investigation of the key parameters for emission enhancement and the effective energy transfer pathways from luminescent ligands to Ln$^{3+}$ ions with Ln(III)-chelated prototype complexes.

폴리벤조옥사졸 전구체의 광투과도 연구 (Optical Transmittance of Polybenzoxazole Precursor)

  • 폴리벤조옥사졸 전구체로써 poly(ο-hydroxyamide)를 2,2'-bis(3-amino-4-hydroxy phenyl)hexafluoropropane과 여러 가지 bis-acid를 사용하여 축중합법에 의해 합성하였으며, 또한 이를 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran과 부가반응시켜 산민감기인 tetrahydropyran이 부착된 방향족 폴리아미드를 합성하였다. Bis-acid의 구조에 따른 365 nm의 파장에서의 광투과도를 조사한 결과, 4,4'-oxydibenzoic acid로부터 합성된 중합체의 광투과도가 가장 우수하였다. 이러한 현상은 전자받게 성질을 갖고 있는 his-acid에 전자를 공여할 수 있는 구조를 도입하면 전자받게 성질이 감소되어 분자내 전하 이동 착물 (intra-CTC) 형성이 감소됨에 따라 광투과도가 증가된다고 사료된다. 또한 산민감기의 치환율이 높을수록 광투과도가 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 이는 방향족 폴리아미드에 산민감기인 THP의 치환율이 높아질수록 사슬과 사슬간의 조밀함이 떨어지기 때문에 분자간 전하 이동 착물 (inter-CTC) 형성을 줄여주는 효과를 얻게 되어 광투과도가 증가된다고 사료된다.

Synthesis and Charactrization of Polycaprolactone Nanocomposites Reinforced with Montmorillonite

  • [DEACOOH]-Montmorillonite intercalations complex obtained from Na-Montmorillonite and 10-Carboxy-n-decyldimethylethylammonium bromide (organic cation) was reacted with the monomer ($\varepsilon$-caprolactone) to achieve the [DEACOOH]-$\varepsilon$-caprolactone-Montmorillonite intercalations complex. From this intercalations complex Montmorillonite/Polycaprolactone nanocomposites in which montmorillonite (inorganic polymer) is chemically linked with the polycaprolactone (organic polymer) were formed at 240$^{\circ}C$ by three different methods such as in stoichiometric amounts between monomer and organic cation, in excess of only the monomer and in excess of both organic cation and monomer. The products obtained after polymerization were analyzed with X-ray diffractometer and TEM.

  • One-dimensional coordination polymer of cadmium(II) complex, $[Cd(SCN)_2(C_4H_6N_2]_n$, has been prepared and characterized by X-ray single crystallography. Structure analysis reveals that each cadmium(II) atom is six-coordinated in distorted octahedral fashion with $CdS_2N_4$ composition. $CdS_2N_4$ composition contains two S and two N atoms from four thiocyanates and tow N atoms from two 4-methylimidazole ligands. Central cadmium(II) atoms are run in parallel to the a-axis and are doubly bridged with neighboring cadmium(II) atoms by the thiocyanate and isothiocyanate ligands. Thus, this complex has a one-dimensional polymer structure in which the 4-methylimidazole is in the trans conformation.

Poly(D-glutamic acid)-Fe(II) 복합물의 형성과 안정도 상수에 관하여 (Poly(D-glutamic acid)-Fe(II) Complex Formation and Its Stability Constant)

  • 수용액에서 Fe(II)-poly(D-glutamic acid) (PGA) 복합물 형성이 pH와 농도에 따라서 흡수와 원이색성 분광 광도계로 확인되었으며, 철 이온과 복합물 형성에 의한 PGA의 구조 변화와 안정도 상수도 검토되었다. PGA와 Fe(II)사이에 형성된 후 pH4.3에서는 ${\alpha}$-helix를 파괴(${\alpha}$-helix 파괴 효과)하고 pH5.7에서는 ${\alpha}$-helix를 유도(${\alpha}$-helix유도 효과)하는 것을 알 수 있었다. ${\alpha}$-helix의 PGA구조가 random coil의 PGA구조 보다 전 안정도 상수 값이 큰 것으로 보아 random coil의 PGA구조에서 더욱 안정된 복합물을 형성하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Although Hereafter a mass production will claim for patterning nano sized thickness or line in micro-nano industry. existent lithography fabrication has many usable fields, it has complex fabrication steps, expensive values and row work rates. Development of Dip-pen type nano plotter using polymer actuator can construct row cost mass production system because it will change existent lithography fabrication more simple and easy.

  • We report a microcapsule-based electronic ink display technique, containing hollow titania particles which were prepared via a complex coacervation method using gelatin and gum arabic. In order to reduce density mismatch between nanoparticels and dielectric medium, hollow titania particles were introduced. Microcapsules were then prepared using gelatin to improve the elasticity of the microcapsule wall and their electrophoretic characteristics were $investigated^1$

  • 본 연구에서는 folic acid(FA)가 복합화된 저분자량 수용성 키토산(LMWSC) 나노입자(water soluble chitosan-folic acid nanoparticle, WSCFA)를 제조하고, 또한 DNA와 나노복합체 합성 및 특성을 분석함으로써 in vitro에서 세포내 독성을 평가하였다. WSCFA 합성을 확인하기 위하여 분광학적 분석 방법을 사용하여 분석하였으며, WSCFA 나노입자는 110 nm 이하의 입자 크기인 구형의 형태를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. In vitro 세포내 독성 실험에서, WSCFA-DNA 복합체는 세포내 독성을 전혀 나타내지 않음으로 높은 세포 생존율을 보여주었다. 전기영동 실험을 통해 WSCFA의 DNA 응축능력을 확인하였고, in vitro에서의 전이효율은 형광 광도계에 의해 평가하였다.
