  • Recently, COVID-19 has spread and time to stay at home has been increasing in accordance with quarantine guidelines of the government such as recommendations to refrain from going out. As a result, the number of single-person households staying at home is also increasingsingle-person households are less likely to be notified to the outside world in times of emergency than multi-person households. This study collects various situations occurring in the home with lidar, image, and voice sensors and analyzes the data according to the sensors through their respective algorithms. Using this method, we analyzed abnormal patterns such as emergency situations and conducted research to detect abnormal signs in humans. Artificial intelligence algorithms that detect abnormalities in people by each sensor were studied and the accuracy of anomaly detection was measured according to the sensor. Furthermore, this work proposes a fusion method that complements the pros and cons between sensors by experimenting with the detectability of sensors for various situations.

  • Currently, the demand for vehicles from one family is increasing in many countries at home and abroad, reducing the number of people on the vehicle and increasing the number of vehicles on the road. The multi-passenger lane system, which is available to solve the problem of traffic congestion, is being implemented. The system allows police to monitor fast-moving vehicles with their own eyes to crack down on illegal vehicles, which is less accurate and accompanied by the risk of accidents. To address these problems, applying deep learning object recognition techniques using images from road sites will solve the aforementioned problems. Therefore, in this paper, we compare and analyze the performance of existing deep learning models, select a deep learning model that can identify real-time vehicle occupants through video, and propose a vehicle occupancy detection algorithm that complements the object-ident model's problems.

  • A smart tag complements various problems caused by the expansion of the use of existing magnet cards. This emerged as a result of the need for alternative means to perform safer and more diverse functions. RFID tags are becoming increasingly ubiquitous sensor networks and Internet of Things technologies as they give everything an ID, enabling automatic recognition of objects and forming a communication network between them. In this paper, a contactless RFID smart tag reader composed of RFID tags and readers using AVR processor was developed. The system has a low frequency band of 13.56MHz and is designed by PWM method of communication velocity 26.48kbps. The developed RFID smart tag board showed a faster response rate than the typical RFID system as a result of the simulation, and the actual experiment also showed an improvement in response rate.

  • This paper deals with on the game's way of embodying the society at the end of the century. Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, and Silent Hill are the targets of the analysis. First, I examine the world view of each game and its own language that conveys its contents. Second, I analyze the specific parts of reality that the three games imitate and the way they are represented. Third, I consider the connection between the real world and the world embodied in the game. Fourth, I suggest the possibility of providing an 'alternative perspective' of game media that reveals the hidden aspects of reality in a way of representation. In conclusion, the image of the game becomes 'the eye' that complements our perspective, captures the hidden aspects of reality, obtains a meaningful part, and even presents its blueprint.

  • Streptomyces coelicolor is a filamentous soil bacterium producing several kinds of antibiotics. S. coelicolor abs8752 is an abs (antibiotic synthesis deficient)-type mutation at the absR locus; it is characterized by an incapacity to produce any of the four antibiotics synthesized by its parental strain J1501. A chromosomal DNA fragment from S. coelicolor J1501, capable of complementing the abs- phenotype of the abs8752 mutant, was cloned and analyzed. DNA sequencing revealed that two complete ORFs (SCO6992 and SCO6993) were present in opposite directions in the clone. Introduction of SCO6992 in the mutant strain resulted in a remarkable increase in the production of two pigmented antibiotics, actinorhodin and undecylprodigiosin, in S. coelicolor J1501 and abs8752. However, introduction of SCO6993 did not show any significant difference compared to the control, suggesting that SCO6992 is primarily involved in stimulating the biosynthesis of antibiotics in S. coelicolor. In silico analysis of SCO6992 (359 aa, 39.5 kDa) revealed that sequences homologous to SCO6992 were all annotated as hypothetical proteins. Although a metalloprotease domain with a conserved metal-binding motif was found in SCO6992, the recombinant rSCO6992 did not show any protease activity. Instead, it showed very strong β-glucuronidase activity in an API ZYM assay and toward two artificial substrates, p-nitrophenyl-β-D-glucuronide and AS-BI-β-D-glucuronide. The binding between rSCO6992 and Zn2+ was confirmed by circular dichroism spectroscopy. We report for the first time that SCO6992 is a novel protein with β-glucuronidase activity, that has a distinct primary structure and physiological role from those of previously reported β-glucuronidases.

  • Currently, various discussions are underway to establish a more advanced management system for public rental housing. Also, it calls for improvement methods for problems arising in management of the current rental housing system. In this regard, this study aims to evaluate determinants that affect user acceptance intention of blockchain technology to implement a new system that complements drawbacks of the current public rental housing system. The study uses the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) as a theoretical model; the study model utilizes three UTAUT variables -performance expectancy, social influence, and Facilitating conditions-, applies security, availability, and reliability that are perceived from blockchain technology as external parameters to facilitate understanding of user acceptance intention of blockchain technology, and evaluates whether innovativeness can regulate the influence of performance expectancy, social influence, and Facilitating conditions on user acceptance intention of blockchain technology. Based on the significant survey result where 274 IT technicians participated, the study applies structural equation modeling to explore structure of user acceptance intention in the blockchain-based management system for public rental housing. As a result, security-reliability and availability are found to factors as determinants for user acceptance intention, affecting implementation of the public rental housing management system, while innovativeness shows no significant statistical results related to regulation effect. This study has implications in that it understands characteristics of blockchain and empirically analyzes the relationship between the characteristics and acceptance intention to enable blockchain's contribution to activate the public rental housing management system in the future.

  • Federated learning is a learning method capable of performing model learning without transmitting learning data. The IoT or healthcare field is sensitive to information leakage as it deals with users' personal information, so a lot of attention should be paid to system design, but when using federated-learning, data does not move from devices where data is collected. Accordingly, many federated-learning implementations have been developed, but detailed research on system design for the development and operation of systems using federated learning is insufficient. This study shows that measures for the life cycle, code version management, model serving, and device monitoring of federated learning are needed to be applied to actual projects and distributed to IoT devices, and we propose a design for a development environment that complements these points. The system proposed in this paper considered uninterrupted model-serving and includes source code and model version management, device state monitoring, and server-client learning schedule management.

  • As the fourth industrial revolution accelerates, universities have made great efforts to develop and reform creative convergence courses for improving the students' creative convergence capabilities. Although various subjects such as "Capstone" and "Design Thinking" to the improvement of students' creative convergence competences, many courses focus on creativity education in the direction of creating new products or outputs such as engineering, design, and art, so there is still a lack of systematic education and subjects on creative convergence capabilities from a humanities and sociological perspective. In order to overcome their limitations of creative courses, "H" University developed a 'Imaginative Innovators' class with the purpose of solving creative problems on social issues related to sciences, culture, politics, economics, and so on. In this study, we introduced the purpose, methodology, students' best practices etc. of the "Imaginative innovator" course. In addition, we discussed the limitations and complements as well as the advantages and possibilities of the course. These findings are expected to contribute to the development and expansion of creativity education.
