Z-map 모델을 이용한 정밀형상 모델링 (Precision Shape Modeling by Z-Map Model)

  • Z-map is a special form of discrete nonparametric representation in which the height values at grid points on the xy-plane are stored as a 2D array z[i.j]. While z-map is the simplest form of representing sculptured surfaces and it is the most versatile scheme for modeling nonparametric objects, its practical application in industry (eg, tool-path generation) aroused much controversy over its weaknesses ; accuracy, singularity (eg, vertical wall), and some excessive storage needs. Although z-map has such limitations, much research on the application of z-map can be found in various articles. However, research on the systematic analysis of sculptured surface shape representation via z-map model is rather rare. Presented in this paper are the following: shape modeling power of the simple z-map model, exact (within tolerance) B-map representation of sculptured surfaces which have some feature-shapes such as vertical-walls and real sharp-edges by adopting some complementary B-map models, and some application examples.

Rapid Prototyping of Polymer Microfluidic Devices Using CAD/CAM Tools for Laser Micromachining

  • A CAD/CAM system has been developed for rapid prototyping (RP) of microfluidic devices based on excimer laser micromachining. The system comprises of two complementary softwares. One, the CAM tool, creates part programs from CAD models. The other, the Simulator Tool, uses a part program to generate the laser tool path and the 2D and 3D graphical representation of the machined microstructure. The CAM tool's algorithms use the 3D geometry of a microstructure, defined as an STL file exported from a CAD system, and process parameters (laser fluence, pulse repetition frequency, number of shots per area, wall angle), to automatically generate Numerical Control (NC) part programs for the machine controller. The performance of the system has been verified and demonstrated by machining a particle transportation device. The CAM tool simplifies part programming and replaces the tedious trial-and-error approach to creating programs. The simulator tool accepts manual or computer generated part programs, and displays the tool path and the machined structure. This enables error checking and editing of the program before machining, and development of programs for complex microstructures. Combined, the tools provide a user-friendly CAD/CAM system environment for rapid prototyping of microfluidic devices.

A modified replacement beam for analyzing building structures with damping systems

  • This paper assesses efficiency of the continuum method as the idealized system of building structures. A modified Coupled Two-Beam (CTB) model equipped with classical and non-classical damping has been proposed and solved analytically. In this system, complementary (non-classical) damping models composed of bending and shear mechanisms have been defined. A spatial shear damping model which is non-homogeneously distributed has been adopted in the CTB formulation and used to equivalently model passive dampers, viscous and viscoelastic devices, embedded in building systems. The application of continuum-based models for the dynamic analysis of shear wall systems has been further discussed. A reference example has been numerically analyzed to evaluate the efficiency of the presented CTB, and the optimization problems of the shear damping have been finally ascertained using local and global performance indices. The results reveal the superior performance of non-classical damping models against the classical damping. They show that the critical position of the first modal rotation in the CTB is reliable as the optimum placement of the shear damping. The results also prove the good efficiency of such a continuum model, in addition to its simplicity, for the fast estimation of dynamic responses and damping optimization issues in building systems.

패시브 디자인을 적용한 ICF공법 주택의 난방에너지 성능 분석 (An Analysis of Heating Energy Performance in Housings of ICF Method with Passive Design Applied)

  • The world population is consuming more than 1/3 of the total energy for heating housings. Particularly in our country, 21% of the consumption energy is occupied by building section. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the energy efficiency in buildings, thus promoting a comfortable residential environment while minimizing energy consumption. Accordingly, this study presents considerations for implementing high-insulated and airtight passive houses. This study selected four houses with passive house design applied, performed building energy performance through PHPP2007, a German passive house design simulation program, and compared the building-specific heat loss and heat gain. As a result, the most vulnerable part to heat loss was turned out to be a window and the heat loss was caused by outer wall, roof, and ventilation. Accordingly, for the implementation of passive house, it is necessary to make a careful plan and airtight construction that are complementary to various parts through the energy performance analysis started from the design phase.

Microbial Forensics: Human Identification

  • Microbes is becoming increasingly forensic possibility as a consequence of advances in massive parallel sequencing (MPS) and bioinformatics. Human DNA typing is the best identifier, but it is not always possible to extract a full DNA profile namely its degradation and low copy number, and it may have limitations for identical twins. To overcome these unsatisfactory limitations, forensic potential for bacteria found in evidence could be used to differentiate individuals. Prokaryotic cells have a cell wall that better protects the bacterial nucleoid compared to the cell membrane of eukaryotic cells. Humans have an extremely diverse microbiome that may prove useful in determining human identity and may even be possible to link the microbes to the person responsible for them. Microbial composition within the human microbiome varies across individuals. Therefore, MPS of human microbiome could be used to identify biological samples from the different individuals, specifically for twins and other cases where standard DNA typing doses not provide satisfactory results due to degradation of human DNA. Microbial forensics is a new discipline combining forensic science and microbiology, which can not to replace current STR analysis methods used for human identification but to be complementary. Among the fields of microbial forensics, this paper will briefly describe information on the current status of microbiome research such as metagenomic code, salivary microbiome, pubic hair microbiome, microbes as indicators of body fluids, soils microbes as forensic indicator, and review microbial forensics as the feasibility of microbiome-based human identification.

거푸집공사 단계에서의 지구자기장 기반 작업자 실내측위기술 적용 방법 (Application of Geomagnetic Field-Based Indoor Positioning Technology in the Formwork Stage)

  • Positioning information of workers is important for safety management at construction sites. Among the various indoor positioning technologies, geomagnetic fields-based technology is more economical and has less error than other technologies. However, there is a problem that the installation and dismantling of materials such as formwork at construction sites can cause degradation in positioning performance. Therefore, in this study, the distortion of the geomagnetic field near euro-form was quantitatively measured and the application method of geomagnetic field-based indoor positioning technology on formwork stage was presented. The results showed that the distortion occurred within 10cm of the wall and column form, but positioning accuracy could be affected up to 60cm from the form due to the characteristic of geomagnetic field-collecting technology. Therefore, applying this technology to the formwork stage requires complementary measures, such as using other positioning techniques up to 60 cm near the formwork, or excluding distorted area when positioning. It is expected that this study can contribute to the efficient safety management of workers by suggesting ways to prevent an increase in positioning error when applying geomagnetic field sequence-based indoor positioning technology during the formwork stage.

Lactobacillus brevis FSB - 1의 균체성분에 의한 면역증진 활성 (Immunopotentiating Activities of Cellular Components of Lactobacillus brevis FSB - 1)

  • 새로운 probiotic 유산균으로써의 잠재적 이용가능성을 평가할 목적으로, 김치로부터 분리한 Lactobacillus brevis FSB-1을 대상으로 각종 면역증진활성의 특성이 조사되었다. L. brevis FSB-1을 전균체, 세포벽, 세포질 및 균체외 획분으로 각각 분리하고 장관면역 활성을 측정한 결과, Peyer's patch 세포를 매개로 한 골수세포 증식활성의 경우, 세포벽 및 세포질 획분에서 상대적으로 높은 활성을 농도 의존적으로 보인 반면, 직접적인 골수세포 증식활성은 나타내지 않았다. 마크로파지의 활성화능은 전균체, 세포벽 및 세포질 획분에서 상대적으로 높은 활성을 보였으며, splenocyte mitogen 활성의 경우, 이들 획분에서 공히 대조군의 약 200%이상의 활성 증가가 관찰되었다. 그러나 양성대조군인 LPS의 활성에는 다소 미치지 못하였다. 한편 보체계 활성화능을 검토한 결과, 균체외 획분을 제외한 모든 획분에서 높은 활성을 보였으며, 특히 세포질 획분에서 농도 의존적으로 매우 강력한 활성을 나타냈다. 또한 세포질 획분에 의한 보체계 활성화는 anti-human C3를 이용한 2차원 면역전기영동에 의해 classical 및 alternative pathway 양 경로를 경유함을 확인할 수 있었다.

지역 건축물의 에너지 자립을 위한 패시브 외단열 복합패널 개발 연구 (Development of the Passive Outside Insulation Composite Panel for Energy Self-Sufficiency of Building in the Region)

  • The study aims to address the energy crisis and realize self-sufficiency of building as part of local energy independence, breaking away from a single concentrated energy supply system. It is intended to develop modules of the outside insulation composite panels that conform to passive certification criteria and for site-assembly systematization. The method of study first identifies trends and passive house in literature and advanced research. Second, the target performance for development is set, and the structural material is selected and designed to simulate performance. Third, a test specimen of the passive outside insulation curtain wall module designed is manufactured and constructed to test its heat transmission coefficient, condensation performance and airtightness. Finally, analyze performance test results, and explore and propose ways to improve the estimation and improvement of incomplete causes to achieve the goal. The final test results achieved the target performance of condensation and airtightness, and the heat transmission coefficient was $0.16W/(m^2{\cdot}K)$, which is $0.01W/(m^2{\cdot})K$ below the performance target. As for the lack of performance, we saw a need for a complementary design to account for simulation errors. It also provided an opportunity to recognize that insulated walls with performance can impact performance at small break. Thus, to be commercialized into a product with the need for improvement in the design of the joint parts, a management system is needed to increase the precision in the fabrication process.

피난유도등 디자인 연구 -다중이용시설을 중심으로 (Design of Emergency Light - Focusing on Public Facilities)

  • 본 연구는 다중이용시설의 화재대피 상황에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 다중이용시설에 적합한 피난유도등 디자인을 제안하고자 하였다. 화재는 재난으로 임의묘사가 불가하여 다중이용시설의 대피상황을 이해하기 위한 동영상 분석을 진행하였다. 동영상 분석을 통해 다중이용시설 화재의 대피상황에서 기존 피난유도등의 문제점과 필요한 니즈를 파악할 수 있었고 이를 피난유도등 디자인에 반영하였다. 피난유도등 디자인 결과, 벽부형 유도등은 LED 배치구조를 달리하여 제품의 두께를 최소화 하였다. 천정형 유도등은 복잡한 구조의 복도에 추가적으로 설치할 수 있도록 형태를 보완하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 실제 피난유도등 제작에 사용되는 기준들을 바탕으로 디자인한 결과로 향후 실험측정과 전문가 자문을 통한 보완단계를 거쳐 실용화 방안을 모색하고자 한다.

개심술을 시행하는 환자에서 경식도 심초음파의 이용 (The Usefulness of Transesophageal Echocardiography During Heart Surgery)

  • 가톨릭대학교 의과대학 부속 성바오로 병원에서 1996년 1월부터 7월까지 개심술시 경식도심초음파를 이용하여 수술 중 관찰한 61명의 증례를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 61명의 환자 중 질병 분류는 심장 판막 질환 25명, 관상동맥 질환 22명, 선천성 심질환 13명, 심장 판막 질환과 관상동맥 질환이 병발한 경우가 1명 이었다. 1. 경식도심초음파를 이용하여 선천성 심질환 1예(심실중격결손증 재수술)와 대동맥 판막 치환술을 시행한 환자 1예에서 일차 심정지에 의한 수술 후 잔존 단락과 판막 주위 누출이 확인되어 재심정지를 유도하여 수술을 완료하였다 2. 공기색전증의 발생을 전 예에서 방지할 수 있었다. 3. 경식도심초음파로 측정한 심박출량과 온도희석법으로 측정한 심박출량은 통계학적으로 의미있는 상관관계를 보여 경식도 초음파를 이용한 심박출량 감시가 의미 있음을 시사하였다(Linear regression analysis, p<0.001). 4. 관상동맥우회로술을 시행한 23명의 환자에서 수술 중 경식도 초음파도상 이상 벽운동을 보이는 분절의 도부타민 투여 전후와 관상동맥우회로술 후의 반응을 비교 관찰하였다. 저 용량 도부타민 검사는 통계적으 \ulcorner유의하였다(민감도 76%, 특이도 94.7%, 양성 예측율 95%, 음성 예측율 75%).
