The directivity of the sound pressure increases the sensitivity of the incoming sound from specific directions. The directivity measurement of the sound pressure is usually done in an anechoic room using a sloping motor. In this paper a replaceable anechoic chamber was designed for the acoustic directivity pattern measurement. Electrical equipments were interfaced with a PC for experiment automatic control. Some comparative results are shown in the result.

In this paper, the transform coding method was selected out of image compression techniques. Each characteristic of transform coefficients for five transform(DCT, DST, WHT, HAT, SLT) was observed, and their performances were compared and reviewed, based on the results from the experiment where image samples were applied to five transform. As the result of image processing experiment, DCT was found to have the best performance.

We consider a life testing experiment in which several two-component shared parallel systems are put on test, and the test is terminated at a predesigned experiment time. In this thesis, the maximum likelihood estimators for parameters of Freund's bivariate exponential distribution under the system level life testing are obtained. Results of comparative studies based on Monte Carlo simulation are presented.

In an experiment to determine the relative effectiveness of poetry activities through constructivist cooking experiences 95 children in three kindergarten classes were assigned to experimental, comparative, and control groups. The experimental group participated in 12-week units of writing poetry after cooking experiences, while the comparative group participated in writing poetry after listening to poetry. Analysis of covariance revealed differences between the mean scores of the three groups on posttests of receptive and expressive language, indicating that the children in the experimental group performed better on the tests than the children in the comparative and control groups. These results suggest that incorporating constructivist cooking into poetry instruction is an effective means of fostering the language development of young children.

Comparative study on a low cost sustaining driver with single and dual path energy recovery circuits for plasma display panels (PDPs) is shown in this paper. The cost of PDPs has been still high and about half of the cost has been occupied by driving circuit. A simple sustaining driver is proposed to reduce the cost and size of driving circuit. The proposed driver has small number of devices and reactive components and there are two methods for charging and discharging PDPs such as single and dual path energy recovery circuits. A comparative research on two-types of energy recovery path is practiced to evaluate performance. As a result, the dual energy recovery path circuit has low power consumption, low surge current and high performance. To verify those results, experiment will be shown with 42-inch HD panel.

This research involved the conducting of an experiment in order to determine the relative effectiveness of constructivist science education when integrated with art experience and constructivist science education for young children. Forty-one children of five years of age in two daycare center classes were assigned to experimental and comparative groups. The experimental and comparative group participated in 15 units. The experimental group participated in science education integrated with art experience, while the comparative group participated in science education. The analysis of covariance revealed significant differences between the mean scores of the two groups on the posttests for science process skills and attitudes. This indicates that the children in the experimental group performed significantly better on the tests than the children in the comparative group. The results of this study suggest that incorporating constructivist science education activities with art experience are good activities for developing young children's science process skills and attitudes.

가설의 생성과정과 검증과정에 대한 연구는 가설의 생성과정, 가설을 검증하기 위한 실험설계과정, 실제 실험수행과정, 실험결과에 따른 가설의 평가과정 등으로 세분화할 수 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구들 중에서 가설을 검증하기 위한 실험설계과정에 대한 연구이다. 이를 위해, 본 연구에서는 제안된 가설을 검증하기 위해 학생들이 제안한 실험설계 내용을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, (1) 실험설계를 위해서 실험방법, 실험결과의 예측, 예측된 결과에 의한 가설평가의 3요소가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. (2) 학생들은 옳다고 생각하는 가설과 틀리다고 생각하는 가설에 대해서 모두 검증하려는 경향을 보였다. (3) 간혹, 옳다고 생각되는 가설에 대해서는 실험적 검증이 아닌 이론적 검증을 하려는 경우도 관촬되었다. (4) 학생들이 제안한 실험설계의 유형은 직접실험과 비교실험으로 나눌 수 있었고, 비교실험은 긍정비교실험과 부정비교 실험으로 나눌 수 있었다. (5) 학생들은 옳다고 생각하는 가설에 대해서는 긍정비교실험설계를, 틀리다고 생각하는 가설에 대해서는 부정비교실험설계를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. (6) 학생들은 옳다고 생각하는 가설에 대해서는 실험설계를 하면서 가설을 지지하는 결과만을 예측하였고, 틀리다고 생각하는 가설에 대해서는 실험설계를 하면서 가설을 반증하는 결과만을 예측하였다. (7) 이러한 편향된 예측과 반대되는 예측을 하도록 강요하여도 이를 거부하는 경우가 많았다. 따라서, 자신의 예측과 반대되는 결과에 대한 거부반응은 실험결과의 해석에서 뿐 아니라 실험설계 단계부터 있을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Freudenthal은 수학화를 핵심 개념으로 하는 현실주의 수학 교육론을 주창하였다. 수학화란 현실 안에 있는 여러 현상들을 수학적인 수단을 사용하여 조직함으로써 현실에 질서를 부여하는 활동을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 Freudenthal의 수학화 이론을 바탕으로 제 7차 초등 수학 교과서 5-가 단계의 넓이 단원을 재구성하여 실험적인 지도만을 작성한 다음, 이를 통하여 교수 실험을 실시함으로써, 수학화를 통한 넓이의 지도 방안의 효과와 더불어 학생들의 넓이 개념과 공식에 대한 이해 실태를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 넓이의 개념 이해 측면에서는 실험반 학생들이 우수하였으나, 넓이의 계산 측면에서는 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
