  • Many types of sensor data exhibit strong correlation in both space and time. Suppression, both temporal and spatial, provides opportunities for reducing the energy cost of sensor data collection. Unfortunately, existing clustering algorithms are difficult to utilize the spatial or temporal opportunities, because they just organize clusters based on the distribution of sensor nodes or the network topology but not correlation of sensor data. In this paper, we propose a novel clustering algorithm with suppression techniques. To guarantee independent communication among clusters, we allocate multiple channels based on sensor data. Also, we propose a spatio-temporal suppression technique to reduce the network traffic. In order to show the superiority of our clustering algorithm, we compare it with the existing suppression algorithms in terms of the lifetime of the sensor network and the site of data which have been collected in the base-station. As a result, our experimental results show that the size of data was reduced by $4{\sim}40%$, and whole network lifetime was prolonged by $20{\sim}30%$.

  • This Paper describes the implementation methods of MLP (mulilayer perceptrons) neural networks to recognize or reject handwritten numerals and non-nummerals. The MLP has known to be a very efficient classifier to recognize handwritten numerals in terms of recognition accuracy, speed, and memory requirements. In the previous researches, however, researchers have focused on the only numeral inputs and have not payed attention to the non-numeral inputs with respect to recognition accuracy, rejection rates, and other characteristics. In this paper, we present some implementation methods of the MLP in the environments that numeral and non-numerals are mixed. The MLPs have been developed by three methods, and investigated with three error types introduced. The experiments have been conducted on a total of 66,701 images of numerals and non-numerals. The promising method to recognize numerals and reject non-numerals has been described in terms of the three error types.

  • A by-pass path in wireless sensor networks is the alternative path which be able to forward data when a routing path is being broken. One reason of depleting energy is occurred by the path. The method for solving prior to addressed the problem is proposed. However, this method may deplete radio resource. The best path has advantage that network lifetime of sensor nodes is prolonged; on the contrary, in order to maintain the best path it have to share their information between the entire nodes. In this paper, we propose the best path searching algorithm in the distributed three dimensional sensor networks. Through the neighboring informations sharing in the proposed method, the proposed algorithm can decide the best k-path as well as the extension of network lifetime.

  • Recently, wireless communication technology and state of art miniaturization has enabled the wireless sensor network with Smart Environmental sensors. The sensor network is a new field which has been researched vigorously in the ubiquitous computing and Ad-hoc network. How to efficiently use the limited energy in this USN(Ubiquitous sensor Networks) has been debated recently. We utilized the Directed Diffusion and Gossiping concept which is based on the Large scale Glass greenhouse and present a method to prolong the lifespan of the sensor network by operating variable time based this routing information on the average energy leftover. In this paper, we present a method to minimize the energy consumption of sensor node within Glass greenhouses and ensure a stable network operation at the same time through energy efficient routing among sensor nodes.

  • In this paper, Switching to digital TV broadcasting and mobile operators license expiration period of the frequency, time and 700MHz, 800MHz and 900MHz frequency band plan for the redistribution is actively being discussed. Redistribution policy direction of these frequency 800MHz (bandwidth 10MHz) integrated command frequency for wireless networks(i.e TETRA) is expected to be considered a redistribution. These Integrated Wireless Network Infrastructure configurations at the time and data communication capabilities of the system unwilling TETRA Release 2 standard for the system is presented. This system is analyzed that Release 1 of the existing system takes up more than 6 times the increase of frequency bands. Therefore, integration of the frequency band assigned to the command of a wireless network with the introduction of advanced systems will not be able to do. In this paper to the digital TV transition, and the policy based on analysis of trends in the 700MHz band for the integration of wireless networks, provides policy direction for the allocation plan.

  • In this paper, relative service differentiation in JET based optical burst-switched networks with deflection routing is presented. It differs from conventional schemes in that it tries to make the loss rate of high class bursts as low as possible while maintaining the desired proportional ratio between the high class bursts and low class bursts. Strategies applied to it are dynamic wavelength allocation and the preemption which are combined to deflection routing. With dynamic wavelength allocation, the number of wavelengths allocated to high class bursts are dynamically changed. Preemption which gives more preference to high class bursts is also applied to decrease its loss rate. To lower the loss rate, deflection routing is applied for any kind of traffic. With those strategies, the suggested scheme shows desired properties that the loss rate of high class traffic is as lowered as possible. A queueing model for the scheme is developed to approximate loss ratio and the numerical results show that the proposed scheme provisions relative service differentiation.

  • Proxy Mobile IPv6(PMIPv6) is a network-based mobility management protocol and it does not require mobile node's involving in mobility management. In PMIPv6, the Mobile Access Gateway (MAG) incurs a high signaling cost to update the location of a mobile node to the remote Local Mobility Anchor (LMA) if it moves frequently. It may cause excessive signaling traffic and increase a high traffic load on LMA. Therefore, we propose a new mobility management scheme in proxy mobile IPv6 networks with dynamic paging support. To minimize signaling overhead, in our proposal, the size of the paging area is determined dynamically according the changes of mobility and traffic patterns of the mobile node. An analytic model is applied to determine the optimal size of the paging area. The cost analysis using fluid flow model presented in this paper shows that our proposal can achieve performance superior that of PMIPv6 scheme.

  • An agent based geographic routing protocol is proposed to improve the well-known geographic routing protocol-GPSR routing protocol. In the proposed scheme, the agent is selected by sink node which concern about the source node's position as well as agent candidate's state. So packets will first be forwarded to agent and next step is to be forwarded to their final goal- sink node from agent. During the next hop selection process, nodes select their neighbors by considering not only position but also their average available buffer size. This results in efficient selection of next hop node in congestion area, and then increases the successful packet delivery ratio. The simulation is conducted for two scenarios: general number of connections and large number of connections in our map. Results show that new method with agent achieves improved performance in successful packet delivery ratio when compares to GPSR without our scheme.

  • This paper presents an integrated control module for controlling transportation machine and automatic navigation using a combined technology of mobile telematics and transportation machine telematics, i.e. Mobile In Vehicle (MIV). This development includes hardware implementation and its verification of control mechanism applied to vehicle. In particular, the module is designed to be versatile in such a way that it can collect various information and facilitate various options for convenience by supporting existing networks, such as TCP/IP, Wi-Fi and 3G mobile radio networks. The study offers its versatility, intelligence and cost-effectiveness by enabling the module to support network-independent service, whereas conventional modules operate only in a certain network. Based on this module, a multiple of subsequent convenient functions for transportation machine can further be developed for safe and intelligent transportation machines.
