  • Random delay countermeasures introduce random delays into the execution flow to break the synchronization and increase the complexity of the side channel attack. A novel method for attacking devices with random delay countermeasures has been proposed by using a maximal overlap discrete wavelet transform (MODWT)-based power trace alignment algorithm. Firstly, the random delay in the power traces is sensitized using MODWT to the captured power traces. Secondly, it is detected using the proposed random delay detection algorithm. Thirdly, random delays are removed by circular shifting in the wavelet domain, and finally, the power analysis attack is successfully mounted in the wavelet domain. Experimental validation of the proposed method with the National Institute of Standards and Technology certified Advanced Encryption Standard-128 cryptographic algorithm and the SAKURA-G platform showed a 7.5× reduction in measurements to disclosure and a 3.14× improvement in maximum correlation value when compared with similar works in the literature.

  • In this paper, we propose an histogram weighted centroid based Siamese region proposal network for object tracking. The original Siamese region proposal network uses two identical artificial neural networks which take two different images as the inputs and decide whether the same object exist in both input images based on a similarity measure. However, as the Siamese network is pre-trained offline, it experiences many difficulties in the adaptation to various online environments. Therefore, in this paper we propose to incorporate the histogram weighted centroid feature into the Siamese network method to enhance the accuracy of the object tracking. The proposed method uses both the histogram information and the weighted centroid location of the top 10 color regions to decide which of the proposed region should become the next predicted object region.

  • Communication technologies are evolving to meet the ever-increasing demand for fast transmission speeds and large capacity. However, the introduction of new mobile networks, such as 5G, should be accompanied by changes in corresponding frequency and modulation techniques to enable the commercialization of its services. Hence, investigating the human health effects of electromagnetic exposures used in these new communication systems is crucial. Since in vitro electromagnetic experiments can provide essential information on important mechanisms of exposure effects, this article presents in vitro exposure systems necessary for reliable experiments. Moreover, the fundamental requirements for system implementation and the features of various systems are discussed.

  • A shrimp quality detection model using YOLOv4 deep learning algorithm is designed, which is superior in terms of network architecture, data processing and feature extraction. The shrimp images were taken and data expanded on their own, the LableImage platform was used for data annotation, and the network model was trained under the Darknet framework. Through comparison, the final performance of the model was all higher than other common target detection models, and its detection accuracy reached 93.7% with an average detection time of 47 ms, indicating that the method can effectively detect the quality of shrimp in the production process.

  • In this paper, we employ deep neural network (DNN) to discern Android user interaction data distribution from artificial data distribution. We utilize real Android user interaction trace dataset collected from [1] to evaluate our DNN design. In particular, we use sequential model with 4 dense hidden layers and 1 dense output layer in TensorFlow and Keras. We also deploy sigmoid activation function for a dense output layer with 1 neuron and ReLU activation function for each dense hidden layer with 32 neurons. Our evaluation shows that our DNN design fulfills high test accuracy of at least 0.9955 and low test loss of at most 0.0116 in all cases of artificial data distributions.

  • In VANET, it is required one-way broadcast transmission because vehicles move at high speed and warning messages need to broadcast. our protocol employs digital signatures to authenticate nodes along the path. this prevents impersonation attacks and message modification attacks. our protocol also employs the node list to recognize intermediate nodes of the path. The node list, the time, and the nonce can prevent replay attacks.

  • The Smart grids are considered as multi-disciplinary power systems where the communication networks are highly employed. This paper presents optimal wide area measurement system (WAMS) configuration in Nordic power system. The transition from SCADA to WAMS becomes now trend in all power systems to ensure higher reliability and data visibility. The optimization applied in this research considered the geographical regions of the Nordic power system. The research considered all the devices of WAMS namely phasor measurement units (PMUs), phasor data concentrators (PDCs) and communication links. The study also presents two scenarios for optimal WAMS namely base case and N-1 contingency as different operating conditions. The result of this research presents technical and financial results for WAMS configuration in a real power system. The optimization results are performed using MATLAB 2017a software application.
