The On-Board Test Study of Train Diagnostic and Control System Using TCN(IEC 61375-1) (TCN(IEC 61375-1)을 이용한 열차진단제어장치의 실증시험 연구)

  • The Train Networks has a goal which requires the fast and correct data communication for distributable equipment systems. For this, in 1999, some train makers had established the standard TCN(IEC61375-1) for the inter-operating between equipment systems. Recently, TCN is being used in EU, China and the requirement to use it is growing up by many other countries more and more. The TCN was adopted at Korea High-speed Train with first in Korea, and Rotem Company finished the design of TCMS with TCN network for Istanbul EMU and KTX-2 Train and tests them. TCN(Train Communication Networks) defines the set of communication vehicle buses and train buses. The MVB(Multifunction Vehicle Bus) defines the data communication interface of equipment located in a vehicle and the WTB(Wire Train Bus) defines the data communication interface between vehicles. This paper examines whether the result of on-board test is satisfied with the IEC61375-1(International Electrotechnical Commission 61375-1) which is the international standard of TCN and introduce the results.

  • This paper proposes a CRC error verification method for SPI and I2C buses of automotive semiconductors. In automotive semiconductors, when an error occurs in communication and an incorrect value is transmitted, fatal results may occur. Unlike LIN communication and CAN communication, in communication such as SPI and I2C, there is no frame for detecting an error, so some definitions of new standards are required. Therefore, in this paper, the CRC error detection mode is newly defined in the SPI and I2C communication protocols, and the verification is presented by designing it in hardware.

  • The performance of peripheral devices is improving rapidly to meet the needs of users for multimedia data. Therefore, the peripheral interface with wide bandwidth and high transmission rate becomes necessary to handle large amounts of data in real time for multiple high-performance devices. PCI Express is a fast serial interface with the use of packets that are compatible with previous PCI and PCI-X. In this paper, we design and verify general peripheral interface using serial link. It includes two kinds of traffic class (TC) labels which are mapped to virtual channels (VC). The design adopts TC/VC mapping and the scheme of arbitration by priority. The design uses a packet which can be transmitted through up to four transmission lanes. The design of general peripheral interface is described in Verilog HDL and verified using ModelSim. For FPGA verification, Xilinx ISE and SPARTAN XC3S400 are used.We used Synopsys Design Compiler as a synthesis tool and the used library was MagnaChip 0.35um technology.

  • Touch interface is widely used in a smartphone instead of a keyboard or a keypad interface that has been adopted in a PC or a featurephone, respectively. Touch interface can recognize a variety of gestures that clearly represent the distinct features of each application's input. This paper analyzes users' gesture of each application captured by the touch interface of a smartphone. Specifically, we extract touch input traces from various application categories such as game, web browser, youtube, image and e-book viewer, video player, camera, and map applications, and then analyzed them. Through this analysis, we observed a certain unique characteristics of each application's touch input, and this can be utilized in various useful areas such as identification of an application user, prevention of running an application by an illegal user, or design of a new interface convenient to a specific user.

  • Earthwork is to level or excavate the ground to provide a space for installing structures. A large number of construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, and dump trucks are put into the earthwork operation. The equipment operators need to constantly communicate with each other during the operation. In the earthwork operation, therefore, the process should be analyzed on the equipment operation to improve the effectiveness of communication. The objective of this study is to understand the earthwork process, and improve the effectiveness of data interface by adopting the smart glass technology. In the study, the general process of earthwork is modeled using a process diagram. The data that is generated during the process is modeled using a class diagram. A database is developed to store and reuse the data. The smart glass technology is adopted to develop a data interface during the earthwork operation. The result of the prototype showed that the technology can improve the data interface during excavation overcoming the shortcomings of hand or sound signals.

  • ARS (Automatic Response Systems) based on VUI (Voice User Interface) and TTI (Touch Tone Interface) are one of the most widely used communication systems. Despite common usages, however, inconvenience of ARS is continually pointed out. This may stem from lack of human-centered studies aside from technological development. In this paper, we provide guidelines for designing ARS by analyzing hindrance factors of usability of ARS menu structure. We had selected two call-centers using ARS, and carried out an experimental study where subjects performed the task of "returning books." After that, they completed questionnaires and interviews. We identified four problems: the complex menu structure, lack of representativeness on the menu name, users' awareness of location, and a difficulty to move among menus. And we partially discussed the ways of avoiding the problems.

  • This paper describes the development of the sensor interface and driver program for a point of care (POC) device. The proposed pac device comprises an ARM9 embedded processor and eight-channel sensor input to measure various bio-signals. It features a user-friendly interface using a full-color TFT-LCD and touch-screen, and a bluetooth wireless communication module. The proposed device is based on the system on a programmable chip (SOPC). We use Altera's Excalibur device, which has an ARM9 and FPGA area on a chip, as a test bed for the development of interface hardware and driver software.

  • Supporting the interactive relation between gamer and computer, and offering the game world information, the user interface in online games plays an important role for a gamer to lead game into the intended direction. The purpose of this study is to analyse a currently utilized online game with educational implications and to analyse its user interface design elements, in order to suggest the strategy how to reformative educational online games.

  • Interface is a communication mechanism between users md information system. This research suggests the guidelines for the user interface design in the IR system. For the development, we would survey and analyse the major library's IR interface windows. It is included in the guidelines md suggestions that IR's windows, data process icons and display's icons of the information retrieval results. So this research's results are utilized to the standard interface development fur the information services.

  • The purpose of this research is creating the visualization platform of the user interface to make able to be provide the demanded service while users communication with surrounding space in a smart city environment. This comes from the latest enhanced interface technology and social media, and it uses the shares information to support the proper interface environment according to a life style and spatial properties. "EzCity" which is the user interface platform suggested in this research, can control the enormous amount of public data for the smart city. The core module of user platform is made up with Public data module, Interface module, Visualization module and Service module. The role of this platform is to be provide "Geo-Intelligent Interface Service" for space users to access the data in easier and more practical interface environment. This reinforces the visualization process for data collecting, systematization, visualization and providing service. Also this will be expected to be the base to solve the problem which complexity and rapidly increasing amount of data.
