Impact of Image Type and Brand Familiarity on the Effectiveness of Bundling

  • Bundling has become a general promotion strategy in mobile shopping context. Previous research on bundling has mostly focused on bundle frame or price frame. Even though consumers are searching and purchasing the product in mobile channels, little research has investigated the effects of bundling in mobile shopping. The objectives of this study is to examine how different product image of bundle affects consumer's perception and purchase intention differently, and how brand familiarity moderate this influence. A sample of 140 subjects participated in a within-subjects experiment. A bundling composed of two different product image (a single product vs. bundled products) was evaluated by individuals. Brand familiarity (familiar brand vs. unfamiliar brand) were manipulated to test a set of hypotheses. We found that the effectiveness of bundling does not depend on the type of product image and brand familiarity. The findings of our study provide some implications for researchers and marketers. Although there have been studies on the effects of bundle framing on consumer behavior, we suggest new insights regarding bundling based on product image and mobile shopping context.

표준화 환자 학습방법이 유치도뇨술, 의사소통능력, 학습동기에 미치는 효과 (The Effectiveness of Standardized Patient Managed Instruction in Teaching Foley Catheterization Skills, Communication Skills and Learning Motivation)

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the standardized patient method in teaching catherization skills, communication skills and students' learning motivation in undergraduate nursing students. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group post-test design. Data were collected over 2 years from August 2000 to September 2001 with 75 sophomore student nurses in one baccaleureate program. The results are summarized as follows ; The scores in catheterization skills and communication skills were statistically significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Learning motivation score were also statistically significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. In conclusion, this study suggests that a standardized patients managed instruction which emphasize authenticity and contex-tualization is very effective in teaching nursing students, the mastery and application of nursing skills, and the utilizing therapeutic communication skills. It is recommended that more standardized patients cases be developed for wider areas of nursing education and this study be replicated with more students using a longitudinal design.

협동학습이 간호학생의 학습성과와 수업경험의 질에 미치는 효과 (Effectiveness of Cooperative Learning on Nursing Students' Performance and Experience)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of the JigsawⅣ cooperative learning in a facilitative communication class of nursing students. Achievement, communication skill, self-directed learning and experience during the class were measured. Method: This study was a pretest and posttest design with two subject groups. 43 students were in experimental (JigsawⅣ) group and 47 ones were in control (general small discussion) group. Classes were conducted over a 6-week period. The collected data was analyzed by the SPSS 12.0 program. Result: After taking part in the educational program, the experimental group had significantly more improvement in communication skill (F=6.81, p=.002) and self-directed learning (F=11.81, p=.000). In addition, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores for concentration in the class (t=2.26, p=.27), positive emotional state (t=3.01, p=.003) and active participation (t=2.78, p=.007) compared to the control group. However, the achievement between the two groups was not significantly different (F=3.29, p=.073). Conclusion: The findings of this study show that JigsawⅣ cooperative learning has positive effects in improvement of communication skill and self-directed learning. Also, students were excited and interested in the class during cooperative learning. Based on these findings, the author suggests developing additional educational programs focusing on nursing students.

지방자치단체 광고효용성에 대한 탐색적 연구: KTX 광고노출 환경을 중심으로 (Pilot Study for Analysis of TV Ads of Local Governments)

  • Along side with the rapid growth of local governments' advertising bills, there are few studies focused on the effectiveness of these ads. Especially one of the media being used by the local governments is the Korea Express Train (KTX), where they advertise in the train coaches' KTX video monitor. Unfortunately the ads in KTX are exposed without audio mostly. The current study, therefore, probed on the effectiveness of these ads. This study utilized transportation theory and content analysis methodology to give insight to its discourse. We established two analysis units (camera and subtitles), and then analyzed 107 local government ads. From the camera analysis, it is observed that local governments' festival and tour promotion ads more often employ dynamic angles such as drone shot and long shot. Also, from subtitles usage analysis, it is observed that many of the ads make use of large size titles and subtitles which could prevent viewers seeing visual shots. In the special case audio-less KTX ads, this study recommends emphasis on subtitles which will enhance the ad effectiveness of the ad messages.

OneSAF를 이용한 원격조종 지상무인차량 체계효과분석 방법 (A Method of System Effectiveness Analysis for Remote-Operated Unmanned Ground Vehicles Using OneSAF)

  • Nowadays unmanned ground systems are used in supporting of surveillance and explosive ordnance disposal. Also, we expect that will be used to remarkably enhance combat capability through network-based cooperative operations with other combat systems. In order to effectively develop those unmanned systems, we needs a systematic method to analyze combat effectiveness and validate required operation capabilities. In this paper, we propose a practical approach to simulate remote-operated unmanned ground systems by using OneSAF, an US-Army simulation framework. First of all, we design a simulation model of unmanned system by integrating with core components for wireless communications and remote control of mobility and fire. Next, we extend OneSAF functionality to create communication links that connects a remote controller with an unmanned vehicle and define a simulated behavior to operate unmanned vehicles via the communication links. Finally, we demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed model within OneSAF and summarize system effectiveness analysis results.

On the Performance Management System to Analyse the Effectiveness of Type Approval System for Railway Vehicle

  • The type approval system for railway vehicle has been in effect since 2016 in order to establish a regular safety management system to secure railway safety and enhance the technological competitiveness of the railway industry, abolished the conventional performance test system through the reform of the Railroad Safety Act in 2012. Until now, there has been appreciated it has been making significant contributions to railway safety and industry of operation and manufacturing companies, taking their place in accordance with the implementation of the system. But there has been no case of quantitative analysis on the effectiveness of the actual system. In this study, in order to examine the full-scale performance of the approval system and quantitatively analyze effectiveness, we identified and defined the relationships with the major elements of the type approval system based on system thinking principle and determined the calculated outcomes to relevant stakeholders. A method of establishing a type approval performance management system that can be grasped, utilized, and adjusted from a point of various stakeholders' views was proposed. This is expected to be more helpful in the implementation of the system, such as improving and applying quantitative effects to analysis by closely reviewing the effects and influencing factors of the type approval system based on the data accumulated through continuous performance management and reflecting to system improvement.

사회적 상호의존성과 지식공유: IT프로젝트의 사례 (Social Interdependence and Knowledge Sharing: The Case of IT Projects)

  • IT프로젝트는 구성원들간의 역할과 업무구분에 있어서 불확실성이 높은 지식서비스형 프로젝트이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 불확실한 환경에서의 촉진행위를 설명하고 있는 사회적 상호의존성 이론의 틀에 의거하여 IT프로젝트의 상황을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구모델로서 목표와 업무의 상호의존성을 독립변수로 하여 촉진행위인 커뮤니케이션 효과성과 지식공유를 매개변수, 그리고 성과를 종속변수로 설정하였고 기존에 개발되어 온 항목들을 활용하여 설문을 구성하였다. 123개의 IT프로젝트에 참여하였던 개발자와 현업실무자들을 일대일 쌍으로 구성하여 데이터를 수집하였다. 분석결과 기본적으로 사회적 상호의존성 이론이 적용됨을 실증할 수 있었고 세부적으로는 지식공유가 무엇보다 중요한 매개역할을 하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 커뮤니케이션 효과성은 프로젝트 성과에 직접적으로 영향을 미치기보다는 지식공유를 통하여 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 추정할 수 있었다. 목표의 상호의존성은 지식공유보다는 커뮤니케이션을 활성화시키는 효과가 있었고 지식공유는 이러한 커뮤니케이션 활성화와 더불어 업무의 상호의존성에 영향을 받아 프로젝트의 성과를 높이는 것으로 추정할 수 있었다. IT프로젝트의 실무에 있어서는 프로젝트를 성공시키기 위해서 팀 구성원들간의 지식공유를 촉진할 필요성이 확인되었다. 이러한 지식공유 활성화를 위해서는 무엇보다도 프로젝트 구성원들이 서로간의 상호의존성을 다양한 측면에서 지속적으로 확인하면서 촉진행위를 할 수 있도록 조직을 구성하고 자원을 배분하고 소통의 강도를 높여야 할 것으로 보인다.

정보디자인에서 효과적 커뮤니케이션을 위한 멀티미디어 사용원리에 관한 연구 (A Study on Principle for Use of Multimedia in order to have Effective Communication in Information Design)

  • 최근 정보디자인 영역에서 애니메이션을 포함한 멀티미디어 활용이 급증하고 디자인 현장에서 응용이 확대되고 있음에도 불구하고 관련 연구는 매우 부족하며, 특히 어떤 특성이 정보전달효과를 향상시키는지에 대한 연구는 많지 않다. 지금까지 디자이너들의 관심은 독창성, 다양성 등 화면의 시각적 완성도에 집중되어 있었으며, 실제로 디자인에서 인지적 문제는 간과되어 왔다. 그러나 정보디자인의 궁극적 목적이 정보의 정확한 전달에 있다는 점을 생각한다면 독창성이나 다양성 이전에 정보 사용자의 혼란을 줄이고 정보전달력을 향상시키기 위한 인간의 시각적 인지능력, 기억력 등에 근거한 연구가 선행되어야 하고 이를 디자인에 적용하는 노력이 필요하다하겠다. 따라서 본 연구는 정보디자인에서 멀티미디어가 사용자인지 및 커뮤니케이션에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 매체의 효용성 이론에 근거하여 검토하고 어떠한 환경 하에서 효과가 극대화될 수 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 매체의 효용성에 관한 이론들을 정리해 보면 멀티미디어와 같은 발달된 정보기술은 매체의 내재된 풍요도로 인하여 정보전달에 효과적으로 작용할 것이나 멀티미디어의 효과는 전적으로 매체풍요도의 관점에서 단순화시키기보다는 과제와의 적절성이나 인지적 적절성의 관점에서 다각적으로 분석해야 한다. 최적의 인터페이스 디자인을 위해서는 불필요한 인지부하를 없애면서 제한된 양의 작동기억을 최대한 활용하여 지식을 습득할 수 있도록 정보를 구조화하는 것이 중요하며, 또한 정확하고 성공적인 심상구축이 가능하도록 정보특성에 맞는 적절한 미디어 선택과 표현방법의 제시가 필요하다 할 것이다. 본 연구는 정보디자인의 커뮤니케이션 효과를 높이기 위하여 어떤 정보기술을 활용해야 하는가에 대한 의문을 매체의 효용성에 관한 이론들을 근거로 살펴봄으로서 향후 디자이너의 의사결정에 있어서 도움을 주고자 하였다.
