A Study on communication Protocol of KTX TECA(Terminal Cabin) (KTX 운전자지원 단말기장치 통신프로토콜에 관한 연구)

  • TECA (Terminal Cabin), the terminal device which offers the information to the driver about the condition of High Speed Train(KTX), analyzes the system of train and plays a role of corrective maintenance guideline to a driver when a breakdown occurs. It also supports the driver to decide the situation of the train by offering a necessary information, in communicating with MPU(Main Processor Unit). For Localization of TECA, it is necessary to analyze communication protocol between TECA and MPU. As a part of analysis, communication protocol between OBCS(on-board computer system) and add-on devices has analyzed for the first step. Also with protocol analyzer appropriate method was offered for TECA and MPU protocol analysis. Finally, by appling proposed method to the drivers consol suitability was verified.

  • This paper investigates instructional strategies with potential for improving students' achievement in word problem solving. This review compares and analyzes the direct instruction (DI) and cognitively guided instruction (CGI) research on K-3 word problem solving mathematics students in a demonstration of my position that teachers need to understand student mathematical thinking to enhance students' achievement in word problem solving. CGI provides a more appropriate instructional model than DI for teaching word problem solving. For example, student-centered, conceptual understanding, and children's informal or invented problem solving strategies communicating with each other mathematically, etc. Korean teachers and teacher educators need to consider implementing CGI teaching strategies.

  • During cooperative learning in small group, we investigate what characteristics children in elementary school show at several fields of mathematics and through communicating activity etc., what influence the cooperative learning does on children's attitude, thinking, problem solving, recognition. To know them, we observe the process of children's communication and evaluate children's attitude, thinking, problem solving, recognition with checklist at each lesson. Through this research, we conclude that the figure part is the most effective when we teach with cooperative learning type, and the cooperative learning evoke the vivid communication, and make progress in affirmative attitude, thinking etc. Also, in this thesis we suggest the points which teacher should consider when he/she use cooperative learning in small-group.

  • We report very rare case of concurrent bronchial atresia and bronchogenic cyst. Morphologic apical segment of right upper lobe directly stemmed from right main bronchus. Bronchogenic cyst was communicating with atretic segmental bronchus and both were filled with mucus. The etiology is not well known, however it is likely that a single insult arround the 5th∼6th week causes both malformations.

  • The world we live in is called the age of information. Thus communication and computers are doing the central role in it. When one studies the mathematical problem, the use of tools such as computers, calculators and technology is available for all students, and then students are actively engaged in reasoning, communicating, problem solving, and making connections with mathematics, between mathematics and other disciplines. The use of technology extends to include computer algebra systems, spreadsheets, dynamic geometry software and the Internet and help active learning of students by analyzing data and realizing mathematical models visually. In this paper, we explain concepts of transformation, linear transformation, congruence transformation and homothety, and introduce interesting, meaningful and visual models for teaching of a plane transformation geomeoy which are obtained by using Mathematica. Moreover, this study will show how to visualize linear transformation for student's better understanding in teaching a plane transformation geometry in classroom. New development of these kinds of teaching-learning methods can simulate student's curiosity about mathematics and their interest. Therefore these models will give teachers the active teaching and also give students the successful loaming for obtaining the concept of linear transformation.

Histogram-based Reversible Data Hiding Based on Pixel Differences with Prediction and Sorting

  • Reversible data hiding enables the embedding of messages in a host image without any loss of host content, which is proposed for image authentication that if the watermarked image is deemed authentic, we can revert it to the exact copy of the original image before the embedding occurred. In this paper, we present an improved histogram-based reversible data hiding scheme based on prediction and sorting. A rhombus prediction is employed to explore the prediction for histogram-based embedding. Sorting the prediction has a good influence on increasing the embedding capacity. Characteristics of the pixel difference are used to achieve large hiding capacity while keeping low distortion. The proposed scheme exploits a two-stage embedding strategy to solve the problem about communicating peak points. We also present a histogram shifting technique to prevent overflow and underflow. Performance comparisons with other existing reversible data hiding schemes are provided to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed scheme.

Action Mechanism of Enhancers for Activating Gene Transcription

  • Enhancers are cis-elements to regulate transcription of cell/tissue-specific genes in multicellular organisms. These elements locate in upstream or downstream regions of target genes and are found in a long distance up to 100 Kb in some cases. Transcription factors and coactivators bind to enhancers in a chromatin environment. Enhancers appear to facilitate the transcription of target genes by communicating with promoters and activating them. As transcription activation mechanism of enhancers, chromatin looping between enhancers and promoters, tracking of enhancer activity to promoters along the intervening regions, and movement of enhancers and promoters into transcription condensates have been suggested based on various molecular and cellular biology studies. These mechanisms are likely to act together rather than exclusive each other for gene transcription. Understanding of enhancer action mechanism may provide a way to regulate the transcription of cell/tissue-specific genes relating with aging or various diseases.

  • Many retailers have extended their extant online channels (i.e., websites) to mobile channels for communicating with and delivering their products or services to customers. However, retailers have trouble delivering a cohesive and seamless customer experience across the Web and mobile channels. To address this challenge, we propose a way for retailers to enrich customers' seamless experiences across channels by configuring mobile channels (functionality- and interactivity-oriented configurations) along with traditional Web channels. This study theoretically contributes a research framework that posits the role of mobile channels as an extension of existing websites. It also provides practical insight for effectively articulating an e-commerce strategy in cross-channel electronic commerce.
