  • The Web Services Choreography Description Language (WS-CDL) is an XML-based language that describes peer-to-peer collaborations of parties by defining, from a global viewpoint, their common and complementary observable behavior; where ordered message exchanges result in accomplishing a common business goal. In this paper, we survey and analysis the functionality of the WS-CDL, and propose new language, which enhance the WS-CDL for the conversation the message between entities

  • Integrating various pathway data collections to create new biological knowledge is a challenge, for which novel computational tools play a key role. For this purpose, we developed the Java-based conversion modules KGML2SBML and KGML2BioPAX to translate KGML (KEGG Markup Language) into a couple of common data exchange formats: SBML (Systems Biology Markup Language) and BioPAX (Biological Pathway Exchange). We hope that our work will be beneficial for other Java developers when they extend their bioinformatics system into SBML- or BioPAX-aware analysis tools. This is part of our ongoing effort to develop an ultimate KEGG-based pathway enrichment analysis system.

  • Medical domain is very applicable for multi-agent system because medical information systems need much knowledge and close relationship with medical staff, In this paper, we describe design and implementation of an intelligent medical multi-agent platform that provides medical images'information services. This platform supports a physical environment that medical agents can be deployed following FIPA(Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agent)\`s agent management reference model. To use a variety of components on Windows, COM(Common Object Model) interfaces and XML(extensible Markup Language) for encoding ACL(Agent Communication Language) are used for multi-agent communications. Since many kinds of diverse and close relationships with medical staff) are essential, a medical staff is conceptualized as an agent and integrated with multi-agent systems. Also it provides an infrastructure applicable to share necessary knowledge between human agents and software agents in order to make intelligent medical information services easier.

  • It is difficult to integrate the speech processing systems and machine translation system in the spoken language translation system by reason that each system uses its own data and basic processing unit. So, we need a common I/O unit which is used in the whole system. In this paper, we propose a Pscudo-Morpheme as the interface between speech processing systems and language translation system. We implement a morphological analysis system for Pseudo-morpheme. The speech processing system using this pseudo-morpheme can get better result than other systems using the phrase or the general morpheme. So, the quality of the whole spoken language translation system can be improved. The analysis-ratio of our implemented system is 98.9%. This is similar to the common morphological analysis systems.

  • With the increased development of 3D VR applications augmented by recent VR/AR/MR technologies and by the advance of 3D devices, interchangeability and portability of 3D data have become essential. 3D files should be processed in a standard data format for common usage between applications. Providing standardized libraries and data structures along with the standard file format means that a more efficient system organization is possible and unnecessary processing due to the usage of different file formats and data structures depending on the applications can be omitted. In order to provide the function of using a common data file and data structure, this research is intended to provide a programming binding tool for generating and storing standardized data so that various services can be developed by accessing the common 3D files. To achieve this, this paper defines a common data structure including classes and functions to access X3D files with a standardized scheme using the Python programming language. It describes the implementation of a Python language binding viewer, which is an X3D VR viewer for rendering standard X3D data files based on the language binding interface. The VR viewer includes Python based 3D scene libraries and a data structure for creation, modification, exchange, and transfer of X3D objects. In addition, the viewer displays X3D objects and processes events using the libraries and data structure.

  • In this paper, we implement a language model by a bigram and evaluate proper smoothing technique for unit of low perplexity. Word, morpheme, clause units are widely used as a language processing unit of the language model. We propose VCCV units which have more small vocabulary than morpheme and clauses units. We compare the VCCV units with the clause and the morpheme units using the perplexity. The most common metric for evaluating a language model is the probability that the model assigns the derivative measures of perplexity. Smoothing used to estimate probabilities when there are insufficient data to estimate probabilities accurately. In this paper, we constructed the N-grams of the VCCV units with low perplexity and tested the language model using Katz, Witten-Bell, absolute, modified Kneser-Ney smoothing and so on. In the experiment results, the modified Kneser-Ney smoothing is tested proper smoothing technique for VCCV units.

  • The paper argues for the necessicity of revising many fundamental concepts that we use in everyday situations and in communication such as reality, thought, language, the world and finally the truth. The paper develops the argument that what the word ′truth′ actually signifies cannot be addressed just by explicating what philosophy, science or even religion denote but that it can only be answered fully by the study of language and therefore in a larger context linguistics. Language is the very tool that enriches the communication between one another due to its diverse significations that one may use when expressing one′s views, thereby making life more enjoyable. The paper develops why the above corresponding argument should be justified by developing three outstanding views as follows. The world or reality is indistinguishable from the common worldview that we associate with without the means of language. That the worldview is in essence inseparable from the mental and intellectual representation of it and the only means of expression lies with language. And finally, that the language is a complex signification in itself in every aspect. Language in short is the very essence of what we define as being ′poetic.′ With these arguments in mind, we may once again ponder the signification of Nietzsche′s words when he states that "to see science through the lens of art, and art through the lens of life."

  • Developmental language disorder is the most common developmental disability in childhood, occurring in 5-8% of preschool children. Children learn language in early childhood, and later they use language to learn. Children with language disorders are at increased risk for difficulties with reading and written language when they enter school. These problems often persist through adolescence or adulthood. Early intervention may prevent the more serious consequences of later academic problems, including learning disabilities. A child's performance in specific speech and language areas, such as phonological ability, vocabulary comprehension, and grammatical usage, is measured objectively using the most recently standardized, norm-referenced tests for a particular age group. Observation and qualitative analysis of a child's performance supplement objective test results are essential for making a diagnosis and devising a treatment plan. Emphasis on the team approach system in the evaluation of children with speech and language impairments has been increasing. Evidence-based therapeutic interventions with short-term, long-term, and functional outcome goals should be applied, because there are many examples of controversial practices that have not been validated in large, controlled trials. Following treatment intervention, periodic follow-up monitoring by a doctor is also important. In addition, a systematized national health policy for children with speech and language disorders should be provided.

  • Today, we are exposed to various text-based media such as newspapers, Internet articles, and SNS, and the amount of text data we encounter has increased exponentially due to the recent availability of Internet access using mobile devices such as smartphones. Collecting useful information from a lot of text information is called text analysis, and in order to extract information, it is performed using technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) for processing natural language with the recent development of artificial intelligence. For this purpose, a morpheme analyzer based on everyday language has been disclosed and is being used. Pre-learning language models, which can acquire natural language knowledge through unsupervised learning based on large numbers of corpus, are a very common factor in natural language processing recently, but conventional morpheme analysts are limited in their use in specialized fields. In this paper, as a preliminary work to develop a natural language analysis language model specialized in the railway field, the procedure for construction a corpus specialized in the railway field is presented.

  • There are 18,638 insect species recorded in Korea, representing 35.4% of Korean Biodiversity (52,628). In this study, we classified Korean common name into 11 categories (color, size, shape, plant, location, ecology, foreign language, personal name, native, physiology, positive/negative) and assigned every species into each categories and researched the meaning of Korean common names. We conducted further analysis on 506 cases of hate speech (disability, racial·regional·appearance discriminations). Also we analyzed 508 cases of Japanese expressions (person's name, place name, Japanese language), and proposed alternative words in case of inappropriate usages.
