  • This study aims to investigate hypotheses for the effects of CEO's self-sacrificial leadership behaviors and employee's organizational committment of 50 Korea venture firms registered in Korea Venture Business Associations. To understand the importance of followers' characteristics in recent leadership studies on venture CEOs, it is proposed that self-sacrificial leadership behaviors will positively effect on organizational commitment. And it is also proposed that the follower's need for achievement(N-Arch) moderates in the relationship of self-sacrificial leadership behaviors and organizational commitment. After descriptive survey, research model setup, and field survey, this empirical study investigated the above mentioned hypotheses thru SPSS for Windows 12.0. It involved linear regression analysis to reveal the significant main effect of the self-sacrificial leadership behaviors. It also revealed moderating regression analysis to reveal the significant moderating effects of need for achievement between the independent variables(self-sacrificial leadership behaviors) and dependent variable(the organizational commitment). Results revealed that CEO's self-sacrificial leadership behaviors positively affected to its employee's organizational commitment under change-oriented and innovative new technology drive, self-developing environments of venture business in Korea. However, positive moderating effect of N-Arch was not supported between leader's self-sacrificial leadership behaviors and follower's organizational commitment in Korea venture firms.

Methods : 220 clinical nurses at two university hospitals in Busan were recruited. They were asked to complete a questionnaire, and 192 data sets were included in the statistical analysis. Results : The mean score of the clinical nurses' organizational commitment was 4.0. All subdomains of job stress and calling were found to have correlations with organizational commitment. The organizational system (t=-6.099, p<.001), lack of reward (t=-3.990, p<.001), purpose/meaningfulness (t=3.624, p<.001), and occupational climate (t=-3.581, p<.001) were revealed to have influences on the organizational commitment. The model was statistically significant, explaining 52.2% of the variance (F=47.808, p<.001). Conclusions : To help clinical nurses become committed to their organizations, administrators need to build fair and rational organizational systems, strengthen various types of rewards, and help nurses reconcile nursing and the meaning of their lives. In addition, every nurse should endeavor to change the nursing organizational climate which is based on vertical collectivism, to a rational climate.

The values of equalitarianism was 3.37 points (${\pm}.4422$), which is above average. 2) The leadership pattern according to the value orientation perceived by the head nurses in 6 clusters has been divided into 3 patterns of change-oriented leader, task-oriented and stability-oriented leader. 3) The nurses who worked with the change-oriented leader showed higher values of job satisfaction (F=5.941, p=O.003), and affective commitment (F=5.793, p=O.003) than those who worked with the stability-oriented leader. Conclusion : As revealed in this study, we think that we have to consider that the change-oriented leader can produce higher performance of an organization than the stability-oriented leader, and write the basic data for the educational courses of leadership development or workshops etc. in order for the nursing unit managers to play their roles for the effective ward-unit management.

Specifically, this study examines the factors stipulated in the Theory of Organisational Readiness namely, change valence, task knowledge, and resource availability on the customs officers' readiness in terms of change commitment and change efficacy for SST 2.0 implementation. This study utilizes the questionnaire survey distributed to employees of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) that have undergone a significant change of tax regime from Goods and Service Tax (GST) to SST 2.0. The results show that all three factors significantly and positively influence the customs officers' readiness in terms of change commitment and change efficacy for SST 2.0 implementation in Malaysia. The findings in this study indicate that to ensure smooth SST 2.0 implementation, it is important for the customs department to give attention to the perception of the officers and provide the necessary resources. The findings of this study could assist RMCD and other custom agencies to take into account factors that influence readiness for change which indirectly affect job responsibility and performance of the organization.

The research data were used from the fourth year (2011) to the seventh year (2017) of the HCCP (Human Capital Corporate Panel), and 207 companies were subject to the final analysis except for missing values. To statistically validate the research model, we utilize the SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs to perform Latent Growth Modeling analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, both the innovative organizational culture and organizational commitment of companies have been shown to continue to decline over time. Second, the initial value of innovative organizational culture has been shown to have a significant impact on the initial value of organizational commitment. On the other hand, the initial value of innovative organizational culture has no significant effect on the rate of change in organizational commitment. Third, the rate of change in innovative organizational culture has been shown to have a significant impact on the rate of change in organizational commitment. Based on these findings, we present practical measures to enhance the importance of innovative organizational culture along with its implications.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on patient safety management activities of nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional design was adopted. The sample included 307 nurses working in three tertiary university hospitals. Data were collected during November and December, 2012, with a response rate of 93%. A 40-item patient safety management activities scale was used to measure patient safety activities. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment were also measured with established instruments and included general characteristics. Data were analyzed with PASW 18.0 program. Results: The mean score for patient safety management activities was 3.98 out of 5. Stepwise multiple linear regression indicated that organizational commitment (${\beta}$=.20, p<.001) and job satisfaction (${\beta}$=.18, p=.013) respectively predicted patient safety management activities. Especially, the addition of organizational commitment as the strongest predictor of patient safety management activities increased the associated explained variance ($R^2$ change=.11, p<.001). Conclusion: It is important for managers to create an organizational climate that promotes the organizational commitment and job satisfaction of nurses. Future studies are encouraged to replicate the findings and also to better understand patient safety management activities and personal emotional stability.
